Motivated by the recent investigations of several authors, in this paper we present a generalization of a result obtained recently by Choi et al. ([3]) involving hypergeometric identities. The result is obtained by suitably applying fractional calculus method to a generalization of the hypergeometric transformation formula due to Kummer.

This paper deals with the eigenvalue assignment technique for linear time-varying systems to achieve feedback stabilization. For this, we introduce the novel eigenvalue concepts. Then, we propose the Ackerman-like formula for linear time-varying systems. It is believed that this technique is the generalized version of the Ackerman formula forlinear time-invariant systems. The advantages of the proposed technique are that it does not require the transformation of the original system into the phase-variable form nor the computation of eigenvalues of the original system.

We use the so-called pseudoinversion of degenerate metrics technique on foliated compact null hypersurface, $M^{n+1}$, in Lorentzian manifold ${\overline{M}}^{n+2}$, to derive an integral formula involving the r-th order mean curvatures of its foliations, ${\mathcal{F}}^n$. We apply our formula to minimal foliations, showing that, under certain geometric conditions, they are isomorphic to n-dimensional spheres. We also use the formula to deduce expressions for total mean curvatures of such foliations.

The well known quadratic transformation formula due to Gauss: $$(1-x)^{-2a}{_2F_1}\[{{a,b;}\\\hfill{21}{2b;}}\;-\frac{4x}{(1-x)^2}\]={_2F_1}\[{{a,a-b+\frac{1}{2};}\\\hfill{65}{b+\frac{1}{2};}}\;x^2\]$$ plays an important role in the theory of (generalized) hypergeometric series. In 2001, Rathie and Kim have obtained two results closely related to the above quadratic transformation for $_2F_1$. Our main objective of this paper is to deduce some interesting known or new results for the series $_2F_1(x)$ by using the above Gauss's quadratic transformation and its contiguous relations and then apply our results to provide a list of a large number of integrals involving confluent hypergeometric functions, some of which are (presumably) new. The results established here are (potentially) useful in mathematics, physics, statistics, engineering, and so on.

I-D-F곡선을 유도할 때 강우자료의 보유연한이 충분하지 않을 경우 지속시간별 강우강도의 변화가 매끄럽게 연결되지 못하는 경우가 발생하기도 한다. 특히 곡선에서, 상대적인 장시간에 강우강도가 크게 되는 문제는 실무적으로 I-D-F 곡선을 이용하는데 큰 혼란을 야기 시킨다. 본 연구에서는 강우자료를 Box-Cox변환을 이용하여 지속시간과 강우강도의 상관관계를 통해 이러한 문제를 해결하는 방법을 제시한다. 산청과 영천의 강우자료에 대한 분석결과 Box-Cox 변환의 실효성을 확인할 수 있었다.

지속기간별 강우자료의 보유연한이 충분하지 않은 지역에도 실용적인 적용이 가능한 IDF 관계식을 유도하였다. 이 관계식은 두개의 모형변수와 재현기간으로 구성된 근사식으로서, 지속기간별 강우자료를 통합하고 정규화 하는 변환과정을 통하여 통계적으로 유도되었다. 강우자료의 변환을 위하여 Kruskal-Wallis 통계량과 Manly 변환을 적용하였는데 이 결과 해석적으로 간단한 형식의 IDF 관계식을 얻을 수 있었다. 특히 보유 자료의 수가 제한된 경우 주로 발생하는 짧은 지속기간의 강우강도가 긴 지속기간의 강우강도에 비하여 작아지는 이상 현상을 완화할 수 있는 특징을 보여주었다. 실무적으로 혼란을 주고 있는 산청과 영천의 강우자료에서 발생하는 이상 현상을 처리하기 위하여 제안된 방법론을 적용한 결과 만족스러운 결과를 보여주었다.

By elementry manipulation of series together with summations of Gauss and $Saalsch\ddot{u}tz$, Exton deduced a new two term relation for the hypergeometric function $_3F_2(1)$. The aim of this paper is to derive Exton's result from Thomae's formula, together with two known integral formulas and the Euler's transformation for $_2F_1$.

The main object of this paper is to present a transformation formula for a finite series involving $_3F_2$ and some identities associated with the binomial coefficients by making use of the theory of Legendre polynomials $P_{n}$(x) and some summation theorems for hypergeometric functions $_pF_q$. Some integral formulas are also considered.

본 논문에서는 안테나의 원거리장 특성 및 Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC) testing을 위한 근거리 원거리장 변환에 대한 연구이다. EMC testing은 광대역 신호 및 거대 구조에 대한 원거리장 측정과 같은 복잡한 과정이 필요하다. EMC 측정 문제를 해결하기 위해, Stratton-Chu 공식을 이용하여 간단하고 직접적인 방법으로 원거리장을 예측하였다. 특히 Stratton-Chu 공식을 이용한 예측은 자유 공간상의 평면파를 통해 해석값을 비교하여 유효성을 검증했다. 패치 안테나의 근거리장 추출과 원거리장 확인을 위해, full-wave 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 Stratton-Chu 계산 결과를 비교 및 검증하였으며, 6 % 이내의 오차로 원거리장의 크기를 예측했다.

Objective : This article is based on a formula taken from Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber(金匮要略). Shen Qi Pill(肾气丸) is generally used for such deficiency cases as: consumptive diseases, xiaoke(消渴) (waisting, thirst), beriberi, urinary problems during pregnancy, phlegm and so forth, and its main purpose is to treat Kidney Qi depletion, Qi transformation disorders, without obvious hot/cold appearance patterns. Method : Mainly through the literature study of related treatise on IInner Canon of the Yellow Emperor's internal classic(黃帝内经) and The Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Chamber. Result : According to the Yellow Emperor's internal classic, the Kidney has three main functions, storing essence, controlling the waters and holding Qi. Shen Qi Pill's(肾气丸) source formula is intended to supplement even though its constituent herbs aren't the warming type. To reinforce the Qi's transformation ability is considered to be a main function of the kidney organ, and in clinic, diagnosed kidney related problems and its treatment process are mainly associated with warming to help the Qi transforming. Conclusion : Thus recovering the kidneys Qi's transformation function is part of the process to eliminate diseases. Just cause the Kidney is deficient we shouldn't think immediately of using warming supplement herbs.
