Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different frequency on of knee extensors muscle function during electrical muscle stimulation (EMS). Method: In this research, 40 subjects who have no musculoskeletal disorder, and less than a year workout experience were recruited in order to analyze effects of EMS with different stimulus frequency. Forty subjects were randomly divided into four groups of ten subjects in each group. A EMS training program with different frequencies (without EMS [WE], EMS with frequency 30 Hz [E30], EMS with frequency 60 Hz [E60], EMS with frequency 90 Hz [E90]) was assigned to each group. Throughout eight weeks of training, test subjects were simultaneously carried out knee extension exercises such as squat, leg extension, and leg-press while using EMS with different frequency (20 min, pulse width 250 ㎲, on-off ratio 1:1). Isokinetic knee extension strength, muscle activity of the rectus femoris (RF), the vastus medialis (VM), and the vastus lateralis (VL), and the median frequency of the RF, the VM, and the VL were collected and compared between pre and post training in order to find effects of applying EMS with different frequencies. For each dependent variable, a one-way ANOVA was to determine whether there were significant differences among four different conditions (p<.05). When a significant difference was found, post hoc analyses were performed using the contrast procedure. Results: When compared to WE and E90, E30 causes significant increase in isokinetic knee extension strength. No significant differences were found in EMG values across different EMS conditions. However, the median frequency of the VM in E30 was significantly increased than the corresponding value for WE. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that EMS training with 30 Hz frequency had positive effect on knee extensor. Based of the findings of the present study, EMS training with lower frequency may help the performer to focus on developing strength in knee extensor muscles.
Objectives: This study was undertaken to evaluate the effectiveness of the Neurofeedback training programme (NFT), and systematically search for factors related to the NFT.Methods: This study applied meta-analysis to thesis and journal articles published in Korea. A total of 42 papers published between 2001 to August in 2015 were evaluated, which were selected through a database search. Results: Summarizing the evaluation, the quality of results was low. The meta-analysis revealed that the effect size of the neurofeedback programme training was 0.691, over the median. Also, the variables were statistically significant to the neurofeedback programme training effect, and were consistent with the subject characteristics, their disabilities/non disabilities, and level of education. The results were also statistically significant to the neuro-feedback programme training effect according to the research method (training method), the sessions per a week, total sessions, and training time. Conclusions: The RoBANS result of 42 studies is at a risk of being highly biased. However, statistically, the meta-analysis result of the factors evaluated is significantly high.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect the user satisfaction and continuous use intention of the improved ATCIS in the Korean Army. Design/methodology/approach Based on the various theories in relation to IT continuance, user satisfaction was identified as the main factor with regard to the continuous use intention of the improved ATCIS. In addition, computer self-efficacy, education-training, and system quality were hypothesized as antecedent variables to user satisfaction, and information security stress was set as a moderating variable for these relationships. Findings Survey results show that computer self-efficacy, education and training, and system quality had a positive effect on user satisfaction, and information security stress was found to moderate these relationships. The effects of computer self-efficacy and education-training on user satisfaction were higher in the group with low information security stress. However, the relationship between system quality and user satisfaction was higher in the group with high information security stress. User satisfaction is found to have a positive effect on the continuous use intention even with habit considered as a control variable.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the effects of core basic nursing education using cellular phone video recordings on self-confidence in performance, achievement, and practice satisfaction. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group modified and non-synchronized design. The participants were assigned to either the experimental (n=60) or control group (n=67). During one semester, the experimental group received training for 10 selected core basic nursing skills using cellular phone video recording. The control group, also for one semester, received training with traditional practices. Self-confidence in performance and practice satisfaction were measured using a questionnaire, and achievement was evaluated by professors at the conclusion of the semester. Collected data were analyzed using t-test and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: Self-confidence in performance increased significantly after training in the experimental group (t=7.94, p<.001). The experimental group showed significantly higher self-confidence in performance (t=2.39, p=.018) and achievement (t=2.40, p=.018) compared to the control group. However, the difference in practice satisfaction was not statistically significant. Conclusion: The results indicate that cellular phone video recording is effective in improving self-confidence in performance and achievement of core basic nursing skills.
PURPOSE: This study was to investigate the effects of resistance exercise on serum inflammatory markers and CatSper 1-4 expression in testis of OLETF rats. METHODS: Male OLETF rats were divided into two groups; control group (n=12), resistance exercise group (n=12). The exercise group performed a total of 8 weeks of moderate intensity resistance exercise on a 1.35 m vertical ladder with weights secured to their tails. RESULTS: The results of this study was following; The exercise group showed a significant decreased in the inflammatory ($IL-1{\beta}$, IL-6, $TNF-{\alpha}$) levels as compared to the control group. But CRP was no significant difference between control and exercise groups. Also, CatSper 1 and 2 were significantly increased in the exercise group compared to the control group, whereas CatSper 3, 4 were no significant difference between both groups. CONCLUSIONS: This study suggests that resistance exercise training can contribute to reduce pro-inflammatory responses in whole body and it affects male reproductive function by improve sperm quality and CatSper protein expression.
In spite of international efforts to control nuclear weapons and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) weapons, North Korea obtains and sells CBR weapons illegally. As a result, the worldwide threat of CBR weapons is increasing. Unfortunately, civil defense education and training for CBR weapons have not been adopted for real situations because of the long period of absence of an actual combat. In this study, virtual training scenarios that are applied to the simulation were made in 5 steps to cope with CBR situations. These scenarios are expected to have three effects. First, trainings can be improved with experience and education. Second, the problems and health hazards of CBR weapons and supplies can be solved with CBR virtual training simulation experience. Finally, corresponding effects can be recognized and predicted in real situations through roles and mission procedures of simulation scenario.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a four week unilateral isokinetic exercise program applied to ankle on the one-leg stance balance performance of ipsilateral and contralateral lower-limbs. Methods: Subjects were randomly assigned to either a right ankle training program (n=12) or a control group (n=12). The training group received unilateral ankle isokinetic exercise of the dominant side for 4 weeks, whereas control group did not. Ipsilateral and contralateral one-leg balance were measured before and after intervention using the Biodex Balance System. Results: Improvements of stability scores, such as APSI, MLSI, and OSI, from pre-test to post-test were significantly different greater for the training group when the control. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest unilateral ankle strengthening exercise transfers benefit to the untrained limb by a cross-education effect, and that this type of exercise should be considered to improve one-leg standing balance of trained and untrained lower-limbs.
The effect of improving awareness by educational programs for improving the quality of daily life of the disabled and safety depends on the type of disability and individual differences, as well as the difficulty in evaluating education achievement and satisfaction. However, more effective programs can be developed and provided if the factors affecting the effectiveness of education can be identified. Training as one of the factors affecting effectiveness involves motivation. This is thought to be an important factor for any object regardless of the type of disability. It is recognized that "By providing programs for the disabled to immerse themselves, they can be motivated to participate in education and expect greater effects on educational effects." Gamification is convincing enough for general learning. Furthermore, a feature of gamification is the use of the game's structure to achieve its goal, which acts on participants' motivation. Some use game packages such as analog games and digital games, but some include gamification of activities themselves. The use of gamification in education has different characteristics from the development of businesses. Therefore, in this paper, we reviewed the current status and challenges with the aim of promoting the use of gamification in life safety education for the disabled.
