An Efficient Node Life-Time Management of Adaptive Time Interval Clustering Control in Ad-hoc Networks (애드혹 네트워크에서 적응적 시간관리 기법을 이용한 클러스터링 노드 에너지 수명의 효율적인 관리 방법)

  • In the mobile Ad hoc Network(MANET), improving technique for management and control of topology is recognized as an important part of the next generation network. In this paper, we proposed an efficient node life time management of ATICC(Adaptive Time Interval Clustering Control) in Ad-hoc Networks. Ad-hoc Network is a self-configuration network or wireless multi-hop network based on inference topology. This is a method of path routing management node for increasing the network life time through the periodical route alternation. The proposed ATICC algorithm is time interval control technique depended on the use of the battery energy while node management considering the attribute of node and network routing. This can reduce the network traffic of nodes consume energy cost effectively. As a result, it could be improving the network life time by using timing control method in ad-hoc networks.

The Study on an Automated Generation Method of Road Drawings using Road Survey Vehicle (도로교통안전점검차량을 이용한 도로의 자동도면화 생성 연구)

  • PURPOSES : This study is to develop a automate road mapping system using ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) for road management. METHODS : The road survey van named ARASEO(Automated Road Analysis and Safety Evaluation TOol) was used to generate highway drawings for Korea National Road number 37 automatically. In order to generate the highway drawings for purpose of road management, it is required to acquired the information for highway alignment, road width and road facilities such as safety barrier and road sign. Therefore the survey van acquired and analyzed the road width, median and guardrail data using rear side laser sensor of ARASEO and recognized the traffic control sign and chevron sign using foreside camera images. Also the highway alignment which is the basic information for highway drawing can be analyzed by acquisition the every 1m positional and attitude data using GPU and IMU sensor and developed algorithm. Finally, in this research the CAD based drawing software was developed to draw highway drawing using the analysis result from ARASEO. RESULTS : This study showed the comparison result of the surveyed road width and drawing data. To make the drawing of the road, we made the Autocad ARX program witch run in CAD menu interface. CONCLUSIONS : Using this program we can create the road center line, every 500m horizontal and vertical ground plan drawing automatically.

Time Utility and Channel State based Wireless Downlink Packet Scheduling Algorithm for OFDMA System (OFDMA 무선 시스템에서의 시간-효용과 채널 상태 기반의 하향 링크 패킷 스케줄링)

  • In this paper, we propose an urgency and efficiency based wireless packet scheduling (UEPS) algorithm that is able to schedule real time (RT) and non-real time (NRT) traffics at the same time. The proposed UEPS algorithm is designed to support wireless downlink packet scheduling in the OFDMA system which is a strong candidate wireless system for the next generation mobile communications. The UEPS algorithm uses the time-utility function as a scheduling urgency factor and the relative status of the current channel to the average one as an efficiency indicator of radio resource usage. The design goal of the UEPS algorithm is to maximize throughput of NRT traffics with satisfying QoS requirements of RT traffics. The simulation study shows that the proposed UEPS algorithm is able to give better throughput performance than existing wireless packet scheduling algorithms such as proportional fair (PF) and modified-largest weighted delay first (M-LWDF) while satisfying QoS requirements of RT traffics such as the average delay and the packet loss rate under various traffic loads.

  • The Ting Kau Bridge in Hong Kong is a cable-stayed bridge comprising two main spans and two side spans. The bridge deck is supported by three towers, an end pier and an abutment. Each of the three towers consists of a single reinforced concrete mast strengthened by transverse cables and struts. The bridge deck is supported by four inclined planes of cables emanating from anchorages at the tower tops. In view of the heavy traffic on the bridge, and threats from typhoons and earthquakes originated in areas nearby, the dynamic behaviour of long-span cable-supported bridges in the region is always an important consideration in their design. Baseline finite element models of various levels of sophistication have been built not only to match the bridge geometry and cable forces specified on the as-constructed drawings but also to be calibrated using the vibration measurement data captured by the Wind and Structural Health Monitoring System. This paper further describes the analysis of axle loading data, as well as the generation of random axle loads and simulation of vibrations of the bridge using the finite element models. Various factors affecting the vehicular loading on the bridge will also be examined.

  • With Various signs are installed at roadside to display the message which rather confuse the drivers. The technologies using advanced lighting system and LED have improved the visibility at nighttime but the problems with plural signs have yet to be resolved. In order to solve this problem, LED and the prismatic variable message sign have been applied. But, they have been provided limited information by the display limit. This research conducted to study patent and technical trend of the existing variable message signs to understand the present technology. And, we suggested next generation display to improve providing information. Therefore, we conducted to compare the LED and the OLED by technical and economical literature review. Also, this research conducted test of luminance contrast about the LED and the OLED display in order to understand the possibility of replacing road signs.

  • A large fraction of urban $PM_{10}$ concentrations is due to non-exhaust traffic emissions including road dust, tire wear particles, and brake lining particles. Although potential health and environmental impacts associated with tire wear debris have increased, few environmentally and biologically relevant studies of actual tire wear debris have been conducted. Tire wear particles (TWP) are released from the tire tread as a result of the interaction between the tire and the pavement. Roadway particles (RP), meanwhile, are particles on roads composed of a mixture of elements from tires, pavements, fuels, brakes, and environmental dust. The main objective of present study is to identify the contribution of tires to the generation of RP and to assess the potential environmental and health impacts of this contribution. First, a mobile measurement system was constructed and used to measure the RP on asphalt roads according to vehicle speed. The equipment of the mobile system provides $PM_{10}$ concentrations by Dusttrak DRX and number density & size distribution measurements of fine and ultra-fine particles by a fast mobility particle sizer (FMPS) and an aerosol particle sizer (APS). When traveling on an asphalt road at constant speed, there is a clear tendency for $PM_{10}$ concentration to increase slightly in accordance with an increase in the vehicle speed. It was also found that considerable brake wear particles and particles from tire/road interface were generated by rapid deceleration of the vehicle. As a result, the $PM_{10}$ concentration and particle number of ultra-fine particles were measured to be very high.

  • Recently computing devices by connecting to a network, grid computing, the next generation of digital neural networks that provide maximum service will connect all of the computer such as a PC or server, PDA into one giant network makes the virtual machine. Therefore, we propose the grid computing implementation model to be applied to meteorological business field as follows. First, grid computing will be used for tasks such as the development of numerical models below the mid-scale or test operations, and the final backup of the weather supercomputer. Second, the resources that will constitute grid computing are limited to business PCs and Linux servers operated by the central government considering operational efficiency. Third, the network is restricted to the LAN section, which suggests the implementation of high performance computing.

Vehicle Detection Method Based on Object-Based Point Cloud Analysis Using Vertical Elevation Data (OBPCA 기반의 수직단면 이용 차량 추출 기법)

  • Among various vehicle extraction techniques, OBPCA (Object-Based Point Cloud Analysis) calculates features quickly by coarse-grained rectangles from top-view of the vehicle candidates. However, it uses only a top-view rectangle to detect a vehicle. Thus, it is hard to extract rectangular objects with similar size. For this reason, accuracy issue has raised on the OBPCA method which influences on DEM generation and traffic monitoring tasks. In this paper, we propose a novel method which uses the most distinguishing vertical elevations to calculate additional features. Our proposed method uses same features with top-view, determines new thresholds, and decides whether the candidate is vehicle or not. We compared the accuracy and execution time between original OBPCA and the proposed one. The experiment result shows that our method produces 6.61% increase of precision and 13.96% decrease of false positive rate despite with marginal increase of execution time. We can see that the proposed method can reduce misclassification.

An Improved EPS Handover Scheme for Seamless D2D Communications (끊김없는 D2D 통신을 위한 EPS 핸드오버 개선 방안)

  • Due to the spread of mobile devices and the introduction of high-quality services, mobile traffic is expected to increase sharply and overload of cellular networks is expected. D2D communication is a way to reduce the load and evolve to 5th generation. Since D2D communication directly communicates between the terminals, it can reduce the overload of the cellular network and improve energy efficiency, data rate and network performance. This paper proposes a D2D handover scheme for D2D communication in cellular networks. The cellular network is a 3GPP EPS, and the proposed D2D handover method improves the existing EPS handover process considering compatibility between existing EPS and D2D communication. We also demonstrate the superiority of the proposed handover scheme using the network simulator ns-3. Simulation results show that the proposed handover scheme is superior to existing handover methods in terms of CUE variation, packet transmission delay time, and throughput.

  • IP QoS is not required to overcome the limitations of the existing Best Effort Service to connect to the explosion of the Internet traffic revenue. To IP QoS requirements of next-generation communication network, Metric Sizing Methodology is very important. However, IP networks have been developed with a focus gender flexibility and scalability than the QoS. Therefore, it is necessary to secure the quality measures for different existing IP technology to apply QoS in IP networks. When establishing the connection quality and transmission quality, based on the IP QoS(Quality of Service) objective data quality metrics can be obtained by analyzing the communication quality hindrance. Understanding the communication quality level may evaluate quality sensitive area and quality hindrance. Establish effective quality metrics can be expected to promote effective and customer satisfaction through improved quality, improved call quality for this issue.
