죽세품 공예디자인 발전을 위한 시장조사 및 실험연구 (A Market and Experimental Research on the Advancement of Bamboo Folkcraft Product Design)

  • 본 논문은 전통문화의 현대화, 대중화 차원에서 담양지역의 죽세공예 및 죽세산업에 대해서 소비자 및 생산업체를 대상으로 설문조사 하였으며, 특정 죽세품인 대발을 가지고 다양한 소재, 기법, 디자인을 적용하여 샘플실험 및 작품을 제작하였다. 소비자 대상의 설문조사는 새로운 디자인 개발에 의한 다양한 용도의 제품개발에 대한 매우 높은 선호도 및 구매의사를 보여 향후 신제품 개발 및 디자인 개선의 필요성을 시사하고 있다. 생산업체 또한 새로운 디자인 적용에 의한 신제품개발에 관심이 높으며 전문기관의 디자인 지원을 가장 바라고있었다. 대발개발을 위한 실험조사 결과는 새로운 섬유재료, 천연염색, 현대적 디자인의 조합을 통해 오늘날의 소비자에 소구할 수 있는 제품개발 가능성을 발견하였다. 본 연구는 전통문화의 재창조를 위한 하나의 좋은 사례가 될 것으로 생각되며, 전문기관과 생산업체 간의 산학협동을 통해 전통문화의 제품화·상용화를 기할 수 있다는 점을 제안했다.

  • Korean traditional paper 'Hanji' made from the bark of the paper mulberry tree is a good handicraft material because of its high viscosity, durability, dyeability, toughness, flexibility, plasticity, and manipulability. Hanji has been used as a textile material such as cotton wool for protection and keeping us warm from cold weather. However, Hanji has many limitations, while other textile materials have many advantages of such as washability, being sunproof, and fast coloring. The purpose of this study is to review physical properties, formation ability, and dyeability of Hanji as a material of fashion accessary. The contents of this study are composed of 5 parts: 1. To introduce the necessities of this study, 2. To review a historical background of Hanji and to identify its physical characteristics as a fashion accessary material, 3. To review and to compare techniques such as bonding, quilting, knitting, creasing and holding, twisting, folding & braiding, paper pasting, coloring & cutting, and outwashing(?) in making Hanji fashion accessaries, 4. To review dyeing and finishing techniques to increase commercial value, 5. To identify the best fashion accessary materials made of Hanji. The most important characteristics of Hanji as a fashion accessary material are its toughness in a wet state, fast color fixing, and flexibility. Especially weaving and knitting are considered as the most desirable techniques to make fashion accessary products stronger and more practical.

  • 제4차 산업혁명이 대두되며 다양한 산업들의 기술들이 융·복합 되거나 클라우딩 컴퓨팅, 모바일, 빅테이터 등의 기술로 인해 인류의 삶이 물질적이나 정신적으로 크게 변화하고 있다. 다양한 기술과 이에 맞는 새로운 직업의 탄생은 전통금속공예기술에 대한 교육과 직업에 있어 대중의 외면을 가져오고 있다. 이런 변화에 있어 공예교육 또한 현 시대에 맞는 교육방식을 찾고 연구하며, 교육 현장에 적용해 대중의 관심과 부흥을 일으켜야 한다. 이를 위해 새로운 소재 혹은 기술이 도입된 타 산업의 교육현장 사례를 조사하고 전통금속공예기법 교육에 활용하고자 한다. 또한 3D프린팅 기술의 다양한 사례와 특징을 조사하고 시간과 공간, 자원의 제약이 많은 공예기법 교육에 활용하여 전통금속공예기법 교육에 새로운 변화를 주고자 한다.

  • 호장줄을 이용한 가구 제작에 관한 연구는 전통가구 제작의 문목의 문양을 돋보이게 하는 시문기법의 하나로 임진왜란 이후 통영의 12공방의 하나인 소목방에서 시문기법으로 사용한 호장줄기법을 고 국가중요무형문화재 제 59호로 지정되었던 천상원으로 전승되어 오면서 삼호장, 오호장, 성퇴뇌문, 홑귀뇌문, 겹귀뇌문으로 발전되면서 해상을 통해 마산, 울산, 광양 등지로 전파되고 육로로 내륙으로 전파되면서 다양한 문양과 형태로 발전하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경상지역의 통영, 마산, 울산과 전라지역의 광양, 동복의 소목가구에 시문된 호장줄의 제작 기법 및 특징에 대하여 조사 연구하여 점차 소멸되어가는 전통 기법의 재조명을 통하여 전통기법에 대한 전승과 계승발전을 도모하고자 한다.

비선형 최적화문제의 해결을 위한 개선된 유전알고리즘의 연구 (A study on Improved Genetic Algorithm to solve nonlinear optimization problems)

  • Genetic Algorithms have been successfully applied to various problems (for example, engineering design problems with a mix of continuous, integer and discrete design variables) that could not have been readily solved with traditional computational techniques. But, several problems for which conventional Genetic Algorithms are ill defined are premature convergence of solution and application of exterior penalty function. Therefore, we developed an Improved Genetic Algorithms (IGAs) to solve above two problems. As a case study, IGAs is applied to several nonlinear optimization problems and it is proved that this algorithm is very useful and efficient in comparison with traditional methods and conventional Genetic Algorithm.

Manufacture of Rainbow-colored Veneer by Natural Dyeing

  • The wood veneers were clearly rainbow-colored with natural dyes. As shown through Korean-style jacket with stripes of multi-colors beyond traditional obang colors (red, blue, yellow, black and white colors), eco-friendly coloring methods representing Korean colors familiar from old times could be used nobly by coloring natural wood veneer being raw material of wood products. In terms of industrialization, the study to manifest korean color, substituting chemical stains such as dye and pigment, would be necessary. In order to realize this purpose, the study about economical dyeing materials and characteristics, that is, mordant, dyeing and drying techniques showing environment-friendly coloring and high coloration level ought to be followed. In addition to this, investigating discoloration transition by fading test for interior and exterior uses would have to be carried out.

  • Traditional Chinese cuisine, which is highly evaluated with respect of taste and techniques, is built based on a sound healthy philosophy and distinct dietary culture, with emphasis on the unity of human beings and nature. The traditional cuisine utilized food materials according to the physical status and seasons, which is still a valuable principle in the modem diet. According to relevant research, the nutrient retention in Chinese cooking is acceptable. However, following the rapid growth of domestic economy, the Chinese diet is in danger of losing its original merits, especially when eating out. The excessive desire for food enjoyment leads to a rapid increase in the prevalence of obesity and chronic disease. It is a critical point to review the characteristic of traditional Chinese cuisine and lead the trend to a healthy direction.

  • Taguchi's multi-characteristic experiments seek proper choice of levels of contollable factors which satisfy that all reponses of characteristics in a desirable range simultaneously. This aim can be achieved by response surface techniques that allow more flexible in modeling than traditional Taguchi's parameter design. In this article, a multi-response surface modeling and analysis techniques is proposed to deal with the multi-characteristic optimization problem in experimentation with Taguchi's controllable and noise factors.

  • This paper is to examine a desirable and promising approach to an effective English teaching in elementary schools. Teachers' understanding English curriculum, teaching methodology, language skills-listening and speaking, and their testing of spoken communication is necessary for students' better learning in their English classes. Thus detailed explanations of English curriculum are presented, and background knowledge of major traditional teaching methods as well as recent trends is discussed. Especially, for the purpose of developing students' English communicative proficiency. classroom teaching and testing techniques of listening and speaking are also discussed with examples.

  • Compared with traditional analog system, the Chinese VLBI Data Acquisition System (CDAS) is a digital one with better bandpass and wider bandwidth which allow weaker sources to be detected and measured by VLBI techniques. After optimizing and verifying the performance of CDAS in wide bandwidth observing mode, we performed an experiment by observing 85 weak sources along the ecliptic with Chinese VLBI stations located at Shanghai, Kunming and Urumqi. The capability of CDAS has been demonstrated for the detection of weak sources with improved sensitivity.
