Object : This study is designed to confirm the effect of Traditional korean Medicine on oculomotor nerve palsy patient. Method : We treated with acupuncture therapy, electro-acupuncture therapy, herbal therapy, physical therapy, moxibustion therapy. And we evaluated a patient's eyelid ptosis, eyelid levator function, eyeball movement, eyeball pain. Result : After Traditional korean Medical treatment, ptosis and pain caused by ophthalmoplegia were improved. Conclusion : This study shows Traditional korean Medicine has a good effect on oculomotor nerve palsy.

Purpose : The purpose of this study investigate method and effect of traditional hydrotherapy and therapeutic hydrotherapy. Methods : This is a literature study with books, seminar note and study for traditional hydrotherapy and therapeutic hydrotherapy. Results : Traditional hydrotherapy in Korea include balneotherapy, medicine herbs bathing therapy, hand and foot hot bath therapy, contrast bath. Therapeutic hydrotherapy include whilpool bath, Hubbard bath, contrast bath, pool bath using mechanical stimulation. Conclusion : Traditional hydrotherapy was static approach method with using water in motion, thermodynamics and water at rest. Therefore in modem hydrotherapy need more dynamic activities in the water. We need scientific research to prove effectiveness of physical therapy and traditional therapy which are known to everybody recently.

Purpose : This article has to compare and clarify the Korea traditional manual therapy and foreign. Methods : This is a literature study with books and books for Korea traditional manual therapy. Results : Korea traditional manual therapy is a species Koryo medicine that is prevention and treatment a disease stimulated in body one part by hand. It has included yacson, doin, sooki, massage, digital compression and chuna. And trend of manual therapy cover the whole medical in Europe, but America has two categories which is the neurologic manual therapy and the orthopedic manual therapy. Conclusion : Korea had been accepted manual therapy which was operated in foreign. This foreign manual therapy was very similar to korea. So it is necessity for a systematic and comparative study for korea traditional manual therapy.

Purpose : The purpose of this study investigate method and effect of Hwangtoh as Korean traditional therapy. Methods : This is literature study with books, and thesis for Korean traditional Hwangtoh therapy. Result : The physical therapy that is in use nowadays, especially thermotherapy has been around since human started to live on the earth. This primitive Korean traditional physical therapy with Hwangtoh have used in common. Historical records show that some kings in those days recommended to their men these methods to treat any chronic disease or illness. This was often thought of as positive means of treatment. Conclusion : Korean traditional physical therapy has been developed, and its scientific effects have been proven. Korean traditional physical therapy is used extensively in hospital and clinics to treat many kinds of diseases and illness and need for scientifical research and data regarding any unproven physical therapy technique.

Objectives : The purpose of this case study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of Traditional Korean Medicine as an adjunctive management for breast cancer treatment. Methods : A 56 year-old female patient diagnosed with stage IA(pT1cN0M0) of breast cancer was admitted our hospital. The patient had surgical resection followed by radiation therapy, and conducted adjuvant therapy with aromatase inhibitor. The patient's chief complaints were dry cough, thirst and fatigue, all of which were caused by radiation therapy. Traditional Korean herbal medicine was prescribed for symptom management. The patient's subjective symptoms such as cough, thirst and fatigue were evaluated by NRS. Results : Fatigue was significantly improved within a week. The severity of dry cough and thirst also was decreased after a few courses of herbal medicine treatment. Conclusion : This case study suggests that Tradition Korean Medicine would be beneficial for the patients who are suffering from adverse effects of the standard treatment of cancer.

For discovering a new trend of cancer therapy in east and west medicine, we have investigated the journal of integrated traditional chinese and western medicine(ITCWM) from Jan. 2000 to Jun. 2006. The main treatment of cancer therapy in ITCWM was western treatments(chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery etc.). Traditional chinese medicine(TCM) was adjuvant treatments. But, it is said that TCM has some important roles in treating cancer at this journal.

Objectives: Schizophrenia is a serious disease that influences not only the patients themselves but also their family and the society. In this case, we employed art therapy and Korean traditional medicine for treating a schizophrenia patient.Methods: The patient was diagnosed with schizophrenia, and the main complaints were hallucination, visual hallucination and catatonic behavior. We treated the patient with art therapy and Korean traditional medicine including acupuncture, moxa and herbal medicine. We used the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) and the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) for assessment.Results: After treatment, clinical symptoms were improved and the BPRS and PANSS scores were decreased, especially the scores for anxiety, depression and poor rapport.Conclusions: Combined treatment with art therapy and Korean traditional medicine can be effective for treating chronic schizophrenia.

Objective : This study was designed to evaluate the extent of effectivness of no mind-therapy (Korean traditional Qigong) on ADPKD. Method : ADPKD patient were observed for one year, given no Western Treatments, and treated only Josik(調息), Joki(調氣)(Korean traditional therapy). Results : 1. The general condition of patient improved and there were specific symtoms that ceased. 2. Hypertention patient showed a lowering of blood pressure. Conclusion : These results suggest a role for no mind-therapy in treatement of ADPKD.

Objectives : This study was performed to review the research trends in treatment for acute alcohol intoxication in traditional Chinese medicine. Methods : 19 studies were selected by searching CNKI(China National Knowledge Infrastructure) from 2006 to 2011, and we performed a systemic review of them. Results : All studies are controlled clinical trials using pharmacopuncture therapy. Each experimental group was given various kinds of pharmacopuncture therapy, whereas each control group was given another western medicine or treatment. Emergent treatment was used in both groups. The results of 15 studies showed that pharmacopuncture therapy has an effect on the treatment of acute alcohol intoxication. However the quality of these clinical trials wasn't high. Conclusions : It seems that the researches for acute alcohol intoxication have been performed actively in traditional Chinese medicine. We hope that our study can activate clinical research for this disorder in Korean traditional medicine.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of Traditional Korean therapy on coccygodynia and depression of postpartum. Methods : The patient in this case was 27-year-old female. The chief complains were coccygodynia and depression. She was treated by Traditional Korean medicine, acupuncture and Chuna Manipulation. The progress of symptoms was evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI). Results : After those Traditional Korean therapy, most symptoms were improved. Coccygodynia and uncomfortableness in normal life improved, and ODI was decreased from 35 to 17. Conclusion : This case shows that Traditional Korean therapy might be effective in decreasing symptoms on coccygodynia and depression of postpartum.
