We provide methods to simulate noise propagation for an outdoor environment. Forward tracing method traces sound vectors from sources to receivers while geometry based computation finds all possible sound propagation between sources and receivers geometrically. We discuss defects in relying on a forward tracing method, and suggest a geometry based method. Geometry based method considers all possible direct and indirect(propagation via limited number of reflections) sound propagation saving computational time compared to forward sound tracing. Our simulation results are visualized using VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language).

The main idea behind the Intelligent Networks (IN) concept is the separation of switching functionality from the service control, in order to meet various service requirements of subscribers and development of new services in time. On the increase of subscriber and for high quality of service, the IN upgrades its service systems, and there are a number of ways depending on the system architecture and the characteristics of services. This paper compares two alternatives, traces the performance of them by means of the simulation technique, and finally puts a rule to select one of them.

In this paper we proposed a PTZ camera system which automatically detect and track moving objects in the image. Once a moving object is detected the PTZ camera traces it in real-time. We proposed the control system which does not depend on camera focusing functionality but uses the object's center, moving direction, distance and speed. We implemented the system with the TI DM6446 DSP chip. The experimental result shows that the system has excellent performance for high speed vehicles.

대부분의 전기화재는 전기제품의 전원코드나 확장형 콘센트 등 저압 배선에서 주로 발생한다. 최초발화에 기인한 단락흔(1차 단락흔)의 외형적 판단기준을 제시하고자 발화원인이 규명된 전기화재의 감정사례로부터 비닐평형코드에 형성된 단락흔의 형태학적 비교분석결과 단락흔 자체 형태만으로 1차단락으로 판정하기는 용이하지 않지만 1차 단락흔은 2차 단락흔과 달리 용융방울이 미세하게 형성되고, 흑색으로 착색되는 경향이 있으며, 특히 절연피복의 손상을 줄 수 있는 선행된 원인이 있는 곳에서 만 특징을 나타내는 것을 알 수 있었다.

최근 Linux 시스템의 사용이 급격히 증가함에 다라 Linux 시스템에서의 보안이 큰 문제로 대두되고 있으며 그에 대한 대응책으로 침입 탐지 및 방지를 위하여 여러 가지 방안들이 나오고 있다. 그러나 대부분의 침입 탐지 및 방지 시스템이 쉘이나 응용 수준에서 이루어지며 이 경우 침입자가 그 쉘 또는 응용 등을 회피하면 그 효용성이 없어진다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 Linux 시스템의 커널 수준에서 명령들의 시스템 호출 과정을 추적하여 침입을 탐지하고 보안을 강화시켜 주는 시스템인 LiSID(Linux System Intrusion Detector)를 제안하였다.

A quasidimensional model is developed with the surrogate mechanism of isooctane and n-heptane to predict knock and emissions of a homogeneous GDI engine. It is composed of unburned and burned zone with the latter divided into multiple zones of equal mass to resolve temperature stratification. Validation is performed against measured pressure traces, NOx and CO emissions at different load and rpm conditions. Comparison is made between the empirical knock model and predictions by the chemistry model in this work.

The CC-NUMA based, distributed shared memory is an emerging architecture for multiprocessor computer systems because of its scalability and easy of programming. In this paper, we analyzed performance of a ring-based, CC-NUMA multiprocessor computer system using a commercial workload targeted for popular OLTP applications. Based on the traces collected from real machines, the characteristics of the commercial workload could be obtained. The simulation results showed that the bottleneck on the ring could be effectively removed by using a dual ring structure. We believe our simulation methodology and results will help us to design better multiprocessor computer systems for commercial application domains.

This paper traces the expanding role of simulation from its early beginning on mainframe computers to the $21^{st}$ Century's enterprise manufacturing environment of remote access and control. It includes an examination of the current and future role of integrated graphic animation as a primary medium of technical communications. The paper concludes with an example application of distance learning in the design, analysis, and operation of Programmable Logic Controllers on the Factory Floor of the future.

A pair of pants $\Sigma(0,3)$ is a building block of oriented surfaces. The purpose of this paper is to formulate the matrix presentations of elements of the Teichmuller space of a pair of pants. In the level of the matrix group $SL(2,\mathbb{R})$, we shall show that an odd number of traces of matrix presentations of the generators of the fundamental group of $\Sigma(0,3)$ should be negative.

This paper traces the process of constructing a new one-dimensional chaotic map, and will provide a simple application in color image encryption. The use of Sarkovskii's theorem will make it possible to determine the existence of chaos and restrict all conditions to ensure the existence of this new sequence. In addition, the sensitivity to initial conditions will be proved by Lyapunov's index value. Similarly, the performance of this new chaotic map will be illustrated graphically and compared with other chaotic maps most commonly used in cryptography. Finally, a humble color image encryption application will show the power of this new chaotic map.
