  • 탄소섬유 스프레드 토우를 제조하는 과정에서 섬유 손상이 발생하며, 이는 스프레딩 과정에서 장비와 섬유 사이 혹은 섬유 간의 마찰로 발생한다. 이로 인해, 재료 및 장비조건에 따라 프로세스 성능에 차이가 발생하고, 제품 물성이 하락한다. 섬유 손상을 최소화하는 것은 스프레드 토우를 제조하는 공정에서 반드시 고려되어야 한다. 본 연구에서는 공기를 이용한 탄소섬유 스프레딩 공정에서 탄소섬유의 필라멘트 수와 사이징 함량, 탄소섬유토우 스프레딩 장비의 공정 변수(초기섬유장력, 열풍온도, 진공압력)를 달리하여 스프레드 토우의 공정성능 변화를 관찰하였다. 탄소섬유 품종에 따른 조건 별 최적조건에서 제조된 샘플을 이용해 인장강도를 평가하여, 탄소섬유의 손상에 따른 기계적 물성 감소를 확인하였다.

An inverse LQG/LTR problem applied to the vehicle steering system

  • This paper describes the robust controller design methods applied to the problem of an automatic system for tow-vehicle/trailer combinations. This study followed an inverse Linear Quadratic Regulator(LQR) approach which combines pole assignment methods with conventional LOR methods. It overcomes two concerns associated with these separate methods. It overcomes the robustness problems associated with pole placement methods and trial and error required in the application of the LQR problem. Moreover, a Kalman filter is used as the observer, but is modified by using the loop transfer recovery (LTR) technique with modified transmission zero assignment. The proposed inverse LQG,/LTR controllers enhances the forward motion stability and maneuverability of the combination vehicles. At high speeds, where the inherent yaw damping of the vehicle system decreases, the controller operates to maintain an adequate level of yaw damping. At backward moton, both 4WS (2WS tow-vehicle, 2WS trailer) and 6WS (4WS tow-vehicle, 2WS trailer) control laws are proposed by using inverse LQG/LTR method. To evaluate the stability and robustness of the proposed controllers, simulations for both forward and backward motion were conducted using a detailed nonlinear model. The proposed controllers are significantly more robust than the previous controllers and continues to operate effectively in spite of parameter perturbations that would cause previous controllers to enters limit cycles or to loose stability.

Hancock과 Carpentier-Edward 이종판막의 장기 임상성적에 대한 비교 연구 (Comparison of long-term result of Hancock and Carpentier-Edward bioprosthetic valves)

  • The long term clinical results following valve replacement with Hancock and Carpentier-Edwards bioprostheses were compared between tow valve models and between tow groups totaling 249 patients who were discharged after valve replacement from 1976 to 1986. The two groups of patients were treated with nonrandomized fashion. Follow-up was 87% complete. Cummulative duration of follow-up was 1909 patient-years, with maximum follow-up duration of 15 years. The actuarial survival for 122 patients with Hancock valves was 95.2%[\ulcornerstandard deviation] and 84.4% after 5 and 10 years of follow-up, respectively. Comparable figures for 127 patients undergoing valve replacement with Carpentier-Edwards valves were 87.3% and 76.4%, respectively[p=NS]. The probability of freedom from structural valve deterioration after 5 and 10 years of follow-up was 97.2% and 60.6%, respectively, with Hancock valves and 97.2% and 55.7%, respectively, with Carpentier-Edwards valves[p=NS]. Considering all 249 patients, multivariate [Cox model] regression revealed that ejection fraction was only significant predictor of structural valve deterioration. The probability of freedom from thromboembolism after 5 and 10 years of follow-up was 91.3% and 86.4%, respectively, with Hancock valves and 94.2% and 82.5%, respectively, with Carpentier-Edwards valves[p=NS]. Hence more strict control of anticoagulation should be done on patients with left atrial factors. In summary, there were no significant differences in actuarial survival rate and major valve related complications between tow valve models. These results suggests that its use should be confined to older patients or patients with a contraindication of anticoagulation.

  • Two dimensional flame temperature and KL value distribution from the luminous flame containing soot in a DI diesel engine were measured by the tow-color method using tow different wavelengths of the flame image. The combustion chamber of a DI diesel engine was visualized by elongating the piston and cylinder and the flame in the combustion chamber was photographed on a nega-color film using a high speed camera. In this study, color CCD camera was used to digitize the three color density of the film exposed to the flame and standard lamp . The accuracy of the measuring method depends on the calibration line of film made from a high temperature standard tungsten lamp. The formation and oxidization of soot in the diesel engine were studied by observing measured time history of KL factor and flame temperature . Also , effects of various shapes of combustion chamber and fuel injection on flame temperature. Also, effects of various shapes of combustion chamber and fuel injection on flame temperature and KL value distribution were examined.

제주도 대기환경의 부식성 평가 (Assessment of Atmospheric Corrosivity at Jeju Island)

  • This study has been conducted to investigate corrosivity of carbon steel, Cu, Zn and Al for one year from Sept. 2003 to Aug. 2004. A model of ISO 9223-ISO 9226 that represents the relation between metal corrosions and environmental parameters was used for atmospheric corrosion evaluations. Environmental parameters for these evaluations are time of wetness(TOW), $SO_2$ and Chloride. Corrosion rates for four metals which are exposed indoors and outdoors were measured on five locations in Jeju Island; Gosan, Seogwipo, Seongsan, Chuna hill and Jeju city. The environmental factor of atmospheric corrosion of Jeju Island for $SO_2$ class is P0, a clean area. TOW as T3 and T4 indicates that Jeju has the characteristics of a tropical area. Chlorides class within 3 km from the coast show the features of costal area as S2 and S3 classes. Chuna hill show the features of woodland as a S1 class. In Corrosion classes of each site which was measured outdoors is higher than indoors. Gosan is the highest class as the rank of C5, and indicated that they're ranked as C3 or C4.

Tow-stage Extraction of Milk Fat by Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

  • To develop mil fat fractions with desirable physico-chemical properties, anhydrous milk fat (AMF) was fractionated by one- and two-stage extractions using supercritical $CO_2$(SC-$CO_2$). Tow-stage extraction of AMF was performed by first producing tow fractions, an extract and a residue at 4$0^{\circ}C$/241bar, which were subsequently used as the feed for an extraction at 6$0^{\circ}C$/241bar and 4$0^{\circ}C$/345bar, and separated into five and four fractions, respectively, based one extraction time. These fractions were quantified and analyzed for fatty acids and physico-chemical properties. SHort-chain (C4~C8) fatty acids in extract fractions from an extract were 200~150% compared with those of the original AF. Long-chain (C14~C18) fatty acids in extract fractions from a residue were 118~141%. The ratio of unsaturated fatty acids in the residue fraction was 131%. Melting point ranged from 22 to 43$^{\circ}C$, iodine value 21.8 to 36.9, and saponification value 255 to 221 in the extract and residue fractions. SC-$CO_2$ fractionation of AMF by two-stage extraction offers the possibility of developing ractions with discrete fatty acid compositions and physico-chemical properties such as melting point, iodine value and saponification value.

열전도도 향상을 위한 직물섬유 복합재의 최적구조 설계 (Structural Optimization for Improvement of Thermal Conductivity of Woven Fabric Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 직물섬유 복합재의 열전도를 구하는데 있어 기존의 연구보다 개선된 방법을 제시하고, 직물섬유의 기하학적 구조가 복합재의 열전도도 향상에 미치는 영향, 그리고 유전 알고리즘(Genetic algorithm)을 이용하여 복합재의 열전도도 향상을 위한 최적구조 설계에 관한 연구를 하였다. 직물섬유의 구조를 토우의 물결무늬와 너비 및 두께를 이용하여 구현하였고, 열전도도는 열전기유사법(Thermal-electrical analogy)을 이용하여 구하였다. 유전 알고리즘에서 염색체 문자열은 fill과 warp tow의 두께와 너비로 하였고 복합재의 열전도도를 향상 시키는 방향으로 목적함수를 정하였다. 연구결과 직물섬유 복합재의 열전도도를 예측을 위한 향상된 방법이 제시되었고, 섬유토우 사이의 간격(inter-tow gap)이 넓어 질수록 복합재의 열전도도가 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 직물섬유 복합재의 구조 최적화에서는 이론적 수치해석 결과가 제시되었는데, 전체적으로 섬유토우(tow)의 축의 수직방향보다는 축 방향의 열전도도 성분이 복합재의 전체 열전도도 향상에 크게 기여를 하는 것으로 나타났다.

해저 및 하저 폐기물의 분석을 위한 양방향음파탐사기의 적용 (Application of Side Scan Sonar to Disposed Material Analysis at the Bottom of Coastal Water and River)

  • 연안도시에서 인구증가와 산업활동으로 인해 연안과 강의 폐기물에 대한 효과적인 제어의 필요성이 점차 증가되어 왔다. 이렇듯 수역에서 처리되는 폐기물의 량은 급격히 증가하였고, 수질을 깨끗하게 유지하기 위해서 이를 지속적으로 추적하는 것은 필수적이다. 이 분야에서 수질과 관계된 조사와 연구는 계속 진행되었으나, 해저면에서 폐기물 처리의 조직적인 조사는 무시거나 경시되어왔다. 본 연구에서 양방향 음파탐사기로 얻은 이미지로부터 해안과 강의 바닥에서 페기물 분포의 상태를 조사하였다. 해저에서 양방향음파탐사기에 의해 전해지는 소리의 강도는 해저면에서 폐기물의 일반적인 분포와 특징을 알려주며, 선박의 좌우현 대하여 각각 22m~112m, 폭으로 44m~224m의 넓이를 예인선의 예인케이블에 의해 연결된 tow fish에서 변환기로부터 스캔된 이미지가 제공된다 모든 데이터는 DGPS에 의한 위치 정보와 함께 높은 칼라 해상도(1280 $\times$ 1024 픽셀)로 실시간으로 표시된다. 현장측정과 기록된 이미지의 분석으로 해저에 투기된 폐기물의 위치 및 분포를 나타낼 수 있었으며 나아가 투기폐기물들의 회수와 처리를 제어하는 시스템을 계획하기 위해 기초가 되는 데이터베이스 시스템을 구축할 수 있었다
