학교급식효과(學校給食效果)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Effect of School-Feeding)

  • The effect of author's recipe of milk-substituting food was studied on 164 children of a primary school. Dividing the subjects into tow groups, A and B respectively, the former being fed with the author's food and the latter served as control, feeding was continued for 6 months daily at lunch hour, with the following results. (1) The effect of the author's milk-substituting food on the body-physique of the children could not be evaluated because of the short period of observation. (2) As observed clinically, various nutritional deficiency symptoms, such as anemia, angular scar glossitis, and hyperkeratosis, were far less frequently occurred in the fed group, while no such significant reduction of occurrence was noted in the control group. It was concluded from the above results that the well-balanced school feeding to the children Is necessary.

  • This paper presents a brief outline of dynamic stability of damaged ship in rough, beam wind and waves. The one degree-of-freedom, linear roll equation is adopted with the effects of damage fluid and external forces, but without the effect of sloshing. We evaluate the dynamic stability in terms of capizing probability based on energy balance mechanics and risk analysis , the method of which was proposed by Umeda [2] to the high speed crafts. As a result, we can predict the dynamic stability quantitatively according to sea state , operating and damage conditions.

  • 스위치드 리럭턴스 전동기(switched reluctance motor : 이하 SRM 이라 칭함)는 가변 인덕턴스 프로파일의 비선형성과 리플성분이 포함된 펄스전류에 구동되는 본질적인 특성 때문에 토오크는 맥동성분을 포함한다. 본 논문에서는 토오크의 맥동에 영향을 미치는 전류파형 형태를 고찰하고, 속도나 부하에 관계없이 어드밴스 각(advance angle)와 여자전압을 제어함으로써 토오크 맥동을 저감할 수 있는 단일 펄스모드 스위칭 제어방법을 제안하였다. 그리고 설계 제작된 6/4 SRM을 이용하여 제안한 스위칭 제어방법의 타당성을 실험적으로 확인하였다.

Probabilistic Safety Assessment of Nuclear Power Plants Using Bayes Method

  • A commercial nuclear power station contains at least tow emergency diesel generators(EDG) to control the risk of severe core damage during station blackout accidents. Therefore, the reliability of the EDG's to start and load-run on demand must be maintained at a sufficiently high level. Probabilistic safety assessments(PSA) are increasingly being used to quantify the public risk of operating potentially hazardous systems such as nuclear power reactors. In this paper, to perform PSA, we will introduce three different types of data and use Bayes procedure to estimate the error rate of nuclear power plant EDG, and using practical examples, illustrate which method is more reasonable in our situation.

기하학적 매개변수에 의한 평직복합재료의 저 균일도 문제 (Low degree of homogeneity issue on the effective moduli of plain weave textile composites)

  • 본 논문에서는 평직복합재료에 있어서 섬유다발의 위상각 변화와 적층수에 따른 등가탄성계수의 저 균일도 문제를 연구하였다. 각 적층수에 따라 단순히 적층된 모델과 무한히 반복되어 적층된 모델에 대해 단위구조 해석을 수행하였다. 수치실험을 통해 탄성계수를 계산하였고, 이를 통계적으로 처리하였다. 계산 결과 평직복합재료의 등가탄성계수는 위상각과 적층수의 변화에 크게 의존하며 임의의 조합에 대하여 그 분포양상은 큰 차이를 보였으나, 전반적으로 적층수가 증가함에 따라 균일도가 높아지는 경향을 보였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 도체를 비파괴적으로 검사하기 위한 솔레노이드 와전류 코일의 몇가지 해석적인 결과가 다루어진다. 원통형 도체관이나 2-도체를 가진 솔레노이드 코일의 규격화 임피던스가 해석된다. 도체의 도전율, 투자율과 전원주파수와 같은 전기.자기적 성질과 충전율이나 반경비의 기하학적 성질 역시 규명되었다. 수치해석에 의해 구한 모델의 임피던스 특성들이 검토되고, 비자성 도체관과 2-도체의 몇가지 시료들올 사용하여 모델의 타당성이 검증되었다.

개흉술을 시행하였던 자발성 기흉의 임상적 고찰 (An Evaluation of the Thoracotomy in Spontaneous Pneumothorax)

  • This study elvaluated clinically the surgical results of the thirty-eight patients who had exploratory thoracotomy for spontaneous pneumothorax between Jan. 1989 and Nov. 1992. Thirty three, or 86.8%, of the patients were male. The most frequent age of the spontaneous pneumothorax requiring thoracotomy was between fifteen years and twenty years. Sudden onset dyspnea and chest pain, which developed in thirty-five patients[89.5%], were the major chief complaints. Bleb and Bulla located in the both upper lobes were the most frequent causes of spontaneous pneumothorax for exploratory thoracotomy. There was no operative death. Postoperative morbidity included three cases of residual air space in the apical pleural space, tow cases of atrial fibrillation, and one each case of reoperation for bleeding, mediasitinitis, and sternal osteomyelitis. All postoperative complications were treated without any serious problems. This study suggests that early exploratory thoracotmy is desirable for patients with prolonged air-leak, massive air-leak, or multiple blebs and giant bullae on the computed tomography of the chest.

회전하는 타이어 내부공기의 유동특성에 관한 실험적 연구 -무부하 회전구동 타이어- (An Experimental Study on the Characteristics of Air Flow Velocity Distritutions Inside a Rolling Tire -Unloaded Rolling Tire-)

  • in order to elucidate the characteristic of velocity distribution of the cavity air. Exploratory tests were conducted on an unloaded rolling radial tire operated at various speeds and inflation pressure. A hot-wire anemometer, rotating with the tire, was used to measure the flow velocity inside the tire cavity. Tow different types of experiments were performed ; one for the effects of rolling speed with constant inflation pressure, the other for the various cavity pressures with constant rolling speed. Experimental results are given as plots of the mean velocity distributions versus the distance from the rim. It is observed that the magnitude of mean velocity in the cavity air shows increasing natures with the increasing of the inflation pressures and rolling speeds.

  • Three-dimensional steady and pulsatile flows in an end-to-side anastomosis were investigated using a finite difference method in order to understand the flow dynamics in the preferential development of distal anastomotic intimal hyperplasia or thrombosis. Steady flow results revealed that a double helical vortex was formed in the host artery and flow recirculations near tow and heel regions were limited due to the secondary flow. Oscillating wall shear stress with significant secondary flow might be the flow dynamic reason of developing intimal hyperplasia or thrombosis.

Recognition of Individual Cattle by His and /or Her Voice

  • It was assumed that the voice of cattle is generated with the virtual white noise through the digital filter called the linear prediction filter, and filter parameters (prediction coefficients) were estimated by the maximum entropy method (MEM) , using the sound signal of the animal . The feature planes were defined by the pairs of two parameters selected appropriately from these parameters. The cattle voices were divided into three levels, that is the high, medium and low levels according to their total power equivalent to the variances of the sound signal . It was found that the straight lines could be used for recognizing tow cow and one calf for high level voices. For high and medium level voices, however, it was difficult or impossible to recognize individual cattle on the parameters planes.
