  • The change of digital convergence service environment converted the subject of design into user -centric one instead of developer-centric one, and changed the existing design environment focused on product development into the new user -centric design environment. Accordingly, GUI considering user's usability come to take big shares in those contents being used for multimedia equipments. However, as the present educational contents provide complex interface due to its design produced based on the existing e-learning system, they have many problems in that they don't consider user's usability. Thus this paper aimed to analyze actual examples through GUI elements of educational contents being used for multimedia equipments and attempt to suggest some directions for development. additionally, consider the various characteristics of digital convergence environment and educational contents, and try to set up strategic directions possible to utilize user'-centric interface elements more usefully and properly at the time to produce designs.

  • In this paper, an cost-effective system architecture is proposed to implement digital predistortion scheme for linearizing the PA amplifing TDD wideband signal. To make digital predistorted signal for compensating nonlinearity of PA, a dedicated ADC and a frequency-down converter are necessary. Proposed scheme is based on the TDD feature that the RF receiver frontend is idle state during the downlink signal processing time and utilize them to make the digital predistorted signal for PA.

  • A number of the latest research projects focus on the development of real-time mapping system. Typically, these devices are used to capture land-related information in digital form from airplanes or cars. The purpose of this paper is to automatically extract the road information from the digital images obtained using the so-called "GPS-Van" which has been developed by Center for Mapping at The Ohio State University, and to propose the method for the effective storage and management of the digital data. The edges of a road can be extracted from the digital image and determined real-time 3-dimensional position by digital photogrammetry. Also, the three storage level which consists of raster data level, object-oriented data level, and vector data level in the data storage and Quadtree data structure for the effective compression and search in the data management was proposed in this paper.his paper.

  • The personal video recorder is a consumer electronics device that records television shows to a hard disk in digital format. In this paper, we propose an implementation method of personal video recorder for digital TV. The proposed personal video recorder includes cpu and system control modules, graphics and display module, audio DSP module, digital I/O module, NIM module, graphic software library, and embedded software modules for providing a lot of PVR functions such as live or reserved recordings, browsing of recorded content list, trick play and time shifting. Especially, combining trick play with time shifting makes much more convenient functions such as pausing live TV, instant replay of interesting scenes, and skipping advertising.

  • On analyzing the power circuit of a DVR system, control limitations and control targets are presented for the voltage compensation in DVRs. The control delay in digital controllers increases the dimension of the system transfer function one degree higher which makes the control system more complicate and more unstable. Based on the power stage analysis, a novel controller for the compensation voltages in DVRs is proposed by a feedforward control scheme. Proposed controller works well with the time delay in the digital control system. This paper also proposes a guide line to design the control gain, appropriate output filter parameters and inverter switching frequency for DVRs in digital controllers. Proposed theory is verified by an experimental DVR system with a typical digital controller.

  • Recently the attention on digital hologram that is regarded as to be the final goal of the 3-dimensional video technology has been increased. Digital hologram is calculated by modeling the interference phenomenon between an object wave and a reference wave. The modeling for digital holograms is called by computer generated hologram (CGH) Generally, CGH requires a very large amount of calculation. So if holograms are generated in real time, high-speed method should be needed. In this paper, we analyzed CGH equation, optimized it for mapping general purpose graphic processing unit (GPGPU), and proposed a optimized CGH calculation technique for GPGPU by resource allocation and various experiments which include block size changing, memory selection, and hologram tiling. The implemented results showed that a digital hologram that has $1,024{\times}1,024$ resolution can be generated during approximately 24ms, using 1K point clouds. In the experiment, we used two GTX 580 GPGPU of nVidia Inc.

  • Dynamic range on the digital detector can be a representation to the ratio of maximum and minimum of pixel value. Wide dynamic range and post processing ability of the digital detector made difficult to recognize visually to high or low dose images. We were evaluated a change of mean pixel value on the original and processed image, when we controlled the kVp, mA, exposure time on the digital detector. On the kVp of a constant condition, we were acquired an original and processed image by changes of mA, exposure time. According to the thickness of the subject under the same conditions, to determine a relation of pixel value and X-ray intensity, we used an aluminum step wedge. When mA and exposure times were changed under the kVp of a constant condition, the X-ray intensity was decreased by the reduction of the mean pixel value. In addition when kVp was increased in a constant condition of mAs, the mean pixel value was increased according to the increment of the X-ray intensity. Therefore, low kVp, high mA and short exposure time were a way to reduce a patient dose.

  • Digital technology continually makes a space evolves. The real-time behavior design communicates the data with the situation of circumference of the space(visitors moving, interior and exterior situations). The space form was changed because it interfaces in real time. The purpose of this study was finding out the characteristics of real-time behavior space design through the analysis of space formative languages, sensorium, S-R and material. This study will be the one of basic references for the digital space design. The boundary of this study set limits to the works of digital space designer who applies the real-time exchanging data to their design among the digital space design works from 1996 to 2004. But it excepted from the real-time behavior space in virtual realty. Therefore, the objects of this study were the works of onl and NOX(paraSITE, Trans-port 2001, Muscle, MotormeCCa, Handdrawspace, Saltwater Pavilion, Son-O-House, H2O Expo). The method was the contents analysis of space formative languages(Greg Lynn's ten space formative languages; bleb, blob, branch, flower, fold, lattice, teeth, shred, skins and strand), sensorium, S-R and material. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The organizational elements; Space formative languages(bleb, blob, fold, shred, skins, strand), stimulation(Human Participation, Human Moving, Weather Conditions), and response(Spatial Moving, Sound Pattern, Lighting Pattern, color Pattern, Activating Particles, Moving Picture, Virtual Friend) 2) The material Use; Sound, lights, and network have been used in the space. Immaterial matter will be used the main material of space design in 21"'century, 3)The spatial types; formal changing of space, projecting immaterial elements, and changing the sound.

  • Generally, the overloaded server problem and the rapidly increased network traffic problem are happened in a center concentrated multimedia digital content service. Recently, a study about the CDN which is a digital content transmission technology to solve these problems are performed actively. In this study, we proposed the SDCDS which improved a process latency time and a security performance on a digital content delivery and management. The goal of the SDCDS is the digital content security and the improvement of the processing time. For that, we have to design the security and the caching method considering the architecture characteristics of the CDN. In the SDCDS, the public key encryption method is designed by considering the architecture characteristics of CDN. And we improved the processing latency time by improved the caching method which uses the grouped caching method on the encrypted DC and the general DC. And in the experiment, we veryfy the performance of the proposed system.
