Input Data Synchronization Scheme Based on Redundancy for IMA System (이중화 IMA 시스템의 입력 데이터 동기화 방안)

  • It is feasible to develop a fault tolerant system through module level redundancy on the Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA). However, its great implementation complexity is one of important challenges when asynchronous hardware environment is naturally assumed. To solve this problem, Physically Asynchronous Logically Synchronous (PALS) on IMA has been proposed. But, it has adaptation problem by not addressing specific architecture for IMA system. In the paper, we propose how to synchronize the input data on the IMA system under primary/secondary redundancy architecture by referring to existing PALS. In the proposed scheme, we introduce window frame by considering rate monotonic scheduling and analyze the adequate the synchronization time. Finally, we verify the feasibility of the proposed design pattern through the systematic experiments.

  • In this paper, we proposed and implemented the method to efficiently generate TDD synchronization signal and the digital circuit for the RF repeater which can eliminate the shadow region in the wireless communication field using the time division duplex (TDD) method. After detecting the TDD signal from the transmitted or received RF signal, the detected TDD signal is fed to the RF repeater for the normal operation. The proposed technique detects the envelop of the downlink signal and amplifies the detected envelop, and then restores the degraded envelop with the proposed digital filtering method. Finally the restored envelop is manipulated to the TDD synchronization signal. Our focus on the proposed algorithm is to develop it with simple feature and low cost but robust performance. The proposed scheme was implemented to the integrated system which has both RF and digital circuit and tested under the same condition with the commercial WiBro service.

Effect of System Instability Factors in a Bistatic MTI Radar Using Pulse Chasing Scan Method (펄스 체이싱 스캔 방식을 이용한 바이스태틱 MTI 레이더에서 시스템 불안정 요소들의 영향)

  • In this paper, we have identified the system instability factors in a bistatic radar system using pulse chasing and considered their effects on the bistatic receiver's MTI(Moving Target Indication) improvement performance. The pulse chasing is a scan method that searchs a restricted area on the transmit pulse-to-pulse basis and the MTI filter is a signal processing that separates a target from some kinds of interferences such as clutter using small number of transmit pulses. Ideal MTI processing performance, e.g., clutter attenuation and improvement, has been limited by the property of the clutter itself, however, the MTI performance in a proposed bistatic receiver configuration could be affected by the receiving beam pointing error during pulse chasing scanning. Also, for the bistatic receiver, we have defined other system instability factors, which result from the time synchronization error, COHO's phase error, the frequency/phase synchronization error, and have analyzed their effects on the system performance improvement.

  • In OFDM-based Full Duplex Relays (FDR) with Decode and Forward (DF) scheme, an interference cancellation technique in the frequency domain is more efficient than the one in the time domain. However, an Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) and Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) may occur due to the timing mismatch between the feedback interference signal and the desired signal from Base Station (BS) when the feedback interference cancellation and demodulation are performed in the frequency domain. In this paper, the effects of timing mismatch on the synchronous type and asynchronous type of OFDM-based FDR are analyzed for uplink and downlink cases. Then, synchronization procedure and methods for reducing ISI and ICI in OFDM-based FDR with frequency-domain feedback interference canceller are proposed and verified by computer simulation.

  • In a MMORPG, a typical application of virtual environment systems, it is a common desire to play in a more realistic environment. However, it is very difficult to provide a latency-free virtual environment to a large user base, mainly due to the fact that the real environment must be configured on multiple servers rather than on single server and that data must be shared on the real server when users move from one region to another. Experiencing response delays continuously in the process of information synchronization between servers greatly deteriorates the degree of immersion. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to minimize the response delay occurring in the information synchronization process between the servers. In this paper, we propose Migration Agent for efficient information synchronization between field servers providing information of virtual environment and minimizing response delay between Field Server and PC(Player Character) and implement it in cloud computing network. In the proposed system, CPU utilization of field server increased by 6 ~ 13%, and response time decreased by 5 ~ 10 seconds over the existing system in 70,000 ~ 90,000 PCs

Deep Learning based Frame Synchronization Using Convolutional Neural Network (합성곱 신경망을 이용한 딥러닝 기반의 프레임 동기 기법)

  • This paper proposes a new frame synchronization technique based on convolutional neural network (CNN). The conventional frame synchronizers usually find the matching instance through correlation between the received signal and the preamble. The proposed method converts the 1-dimensional correlator ouput into a 2-dimensional matrix. The 2-dimensional matrix is input to a convolutional neural network, and the convolutional neural network finds the frame arrival time. Specifically, in additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) environments, the received signals are generated with random arrival times and they are used for training data of the CNN. Through computer simulation, the false detection probabilities in various signal-to-noise ratios are investigated and compared between the proposed CNN-based technique and the conventional one. According to the results, the proposed technique shows 2dB better performance than the conventional method.

  • If radio interference occurs or there is no navigation device, radio navigation of high-speed moving object becomes impossible. Nevertheless, if there are multiple ground stations and precise range measurement between the high-speed moving object and the ground station can be secured, it is possible to estimate the position of moving object. This paper proposes a position estimation method using high-precision TDOA measurement generated using TLM signal. In the proposed method, a common error of moving object is removed using the TDOA measurements. The measurements is generated based on TLM signal including SOQPSK PN symbol capable of precise timing synchronization. Therefore, since precise timing synchronization of the system has been performed, the timing error between ground stations has a very small value. This improved the position estimation performance by increasing the accuracy of the measured values. The proposed method is verified through software-based simulation, and the performance of estimated position satisfies the target performance.

  • In this paper, the Window-Masking Method and HAT (Hardware Attached Top) CPU SoM (System on Module) are used to improve the performance and reduce the weight of the MANET (Mobile Ad-hoc Network) network synchronization system using time division redundancy. We propose converting it into a RISC-V based soft-core MCU and mounting it on an FPGA, a hardware accelerator. It was also verified through experiment. In terms of performance, by applying the proposed technique, the synchronization acquisition range is from -50dBm to +10dBm to -60dBm to +10dBm, the lowest input level for synchronization is increased by 20% from -50dBm to -60dBm, and the detection delay (Latency) is 220ns. Reduced by 43% to 125ns. In terms of weight reduction, computing resources (48%), size (33%), and weight (27%) were reduced by an average of 36% by replacing with soft-core MCU.

  • In this paper, we propose a precise time management and time synchronization based on real-time data storage and transmission scheme in design of seismic data acquisition system for urban earthquake disaster preventing system (UEDPS). It is possible to improve the performance of the existing research results through the proposed methods. To evaluate the performances of the proposed methods, we implemented a prototype system(H/W & S/W) and performed some experiments with real seismic data and test equipment generated data as the input.

  • In this paper, a dynamic learning controller for robot manipulator is implemented using real-time operating system with capabilities of multitasking, intertask communication and synchronization, event-driven, priority-driven scheduling, real-time clock control, etc. The controller hardware system with VME bus and related devices is developed and applied to implement a dynamic learning control scheme for robot manipulator. Real-time performance of the proposed dynamic learning controller is tested and evaluated for tracking of the desired trajectory and compared with the conventional servo controller.
