Development of a Multi-criteria Pedestrian Pathfinding Algorithm by Perceptron Learning

  • Pathfinding for pedestrians provided by various navigation programs is based on a shortest path search algorithm. There is no big difference in their guide results, which makes the path quality more important. Multiple criteria should be included in the search cost to calculate the path quality, which is called a multi-criteria pathfinding. In this paper we propose a user adaptive pathfinding algorithm in which the cost function for a multi-criteria pathfinding is defined as a weighted sum of multiple criteria and the weights are learned automatically by Perceptron learning. Weight learning is implemented in two ways: short-term weight learning that reflects weight changes in real time as the user moves and long-term weight learning that updates the weights by the average value of the entire path after completing the movement. We use the weight update method with momentum for long-term weight learning, so that learning speed is improved and the learned weight can be stabilized. The proposed method is implemented as an app and is applied to various movement situations. The results show that customized pathfinding based on user preference can be obtained.

마운트 시스템을 갖는 유연 로터-베어링 시스템의 기초전달 충격 과도응답 해석을 위한 유한요소 모델링 (FE Modeling for the Transient Response Analysis of a Flexible Rotor-bearing System with Mount System to Base Shock Excitation)

  • Turbomachinery such as turbines, pumps and compressors, which are installed in transportation systems, including aircrafts, ships, and space vehicles, etc., often perform crucial missions and are exposed to potential dangerous impact environments such as base-transferred shock forces. To protect turbomachinery from excessive shock forces, it may be needed to accurately analyze transient responses of their rotors, considering the dynamics of mount designs to be applied. In this study a generalized FE transient response analysis model, introducing relative displacements, is proposed to accurately predict transient responses of a flexible rotor-bearing system with mount systems to base-transferred shock forces. In the transient analyses the state-space Newmark method of a direct time integration scheme is utilized, which is based on the average velocity concept. Results show that for the identical mount systems considered, the proposed FE-based detailed flexible rotor model yields more reduced transient vibration responses to the same shocks than a conventional simple model, obtained by treating a rotor as concentrated lumped mass, equivalent spring and a damper or Jeffcott rotor model. Hence, in order to design a rotor-bearing system with a more compact light-weighted mount system, preparing against any potential excessive shock, the proposed FE transient response analysis model herein is recommended.

  • For maintaining railroad, accumulated passing tonnage is a determinant factor of appropriate rail replacement time. Recently, Seoul Metro's rail maintaining system and technology is being improved from previous years, which increasing a standard of rail replacement. Thus, this brings importance of estimating and managing for accumulated passing tonnage. In case of light weighted train such as subway, current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage has defaults of misrepresenting accumulated passing tonnage data. Because current method is based on the weight of passengers and train., and operation data. In addition, currently there is no mechanical and electronic system that could represent and support the accurate data between heavy and non-heavy traffic area, and accumulated passing tonnage is calculated inaccurately by estimating average value each line. The current method of calculating accumulated passing tonnage misleads to unpredictable data that represent inappropriate rail replacement period, which leads to under or over analyzed replacement period. If accumulated passing tonnage is over estimated, rail replacement leads to waste of budget. Hence, it is necessary to construct reliable actual measurement system to manage rail's life safely and efficiently, and in this study the accumulated passing tonnage measurement device is installed with using rail pad of optical fiber sensors and its effect is analyzed.

변동 제주 SMP를 적용한 제주도 육상풍력단지의 경제성 재평가 (Reassessment of Economic Feasibility for a Wind Farm on Jeju Island Considering Variable Jeju SMP)

  • Economic feasibility study using weighted average variable Jeju System Marginal Price, SMP, was conducted for Gasiri wind farm of Jeju Island. To predict the variable Jeju SMP, generator share ratio for SMP was calculated from the real time wind power production and the power demand data for years. Also, sensitivity analysis on Net Present Value, NPV, and Benefit/Cost Ratio, B/C ratio, were performed to clarify which factors are more important in assessing economic feasibility. The result shows that the Gasiri wind farm has a minimum of 110 billion won and a maximum of 132 billion won difference between fixed and variable SMP. Also, Capacity Factor, C.F., had the highest sensitivity for NPV, followed by SMP. Accordingly, when economic analysis for a potential wind farm site is carried out, the variable SMP as well as C.F. should be considered for more accurate assessment of the wind farm.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기자동차를 주제로 SCIE 및 SSCI 저널에 게재한 논문데이터를 활용한 시계열 분석과 국제특허분류(International patent classification, 이하 IPC) 별 특허 데이터를 활용한 시계열 분석과 노드엑셀을 활용한 네트워크 분석을 통해 2001년에서 2014년까지의 전기자동차의 기술 동향을 파악하고 특허와 논문 데이터의 상관관계 분석을 통하여 기술 동향을 분석하였다. 또한 예측기법 중 하나인 가중이동평균법으로 전기자동차의 유망 요소기술을 예측하였다. 본 연구의 결과 전기자동차 요소기술 중 배터리 기술이 유망한 기술로 나타났다.

모바일 디바이스상에서 공간-칼라와 가버 질감을 이용한 내용-기반 영상 검색 (Content-based Image Retrieval using Spatial-Color and Gabor Texture on A Mobile Device)

  • Mobile image retrieval is one of the most exciting and fastest growing research fields in the area of multimedia technology. As the amount of digital contents continues to grow users are experiencing increasing difficulty in finding specific images in their image libraries. This paper proposes a new efficient and effective mobile image retrieval method that applies a weighted combination of color and texture utilizing spatial-color and second order statistics. The system for mobile image searches runs in real-time on an iPhone and can easily be used to find a specific image. To evaluate the performance of the new method, we assessed the iPhone simulations performance in terms of average precision and recall using several image databases and compare the results with those obtained using existing methods. Experimental trials revealed that the proposed descriptor exhibited a significant improvement of over 13% in retrieval effectiveness, compared to the best of the other descriptors.

TVD기법을 이용한 불연속 흐름의 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis of a Discontinuous Flow with TVD Scheme)

  • 본 연구에서는 천수방정식을 이용하여 2차원 개수로에서 하상과 하폭이 급격히 변화하는 경우에 발생하는 천이류를 해석하였다. 불연속점 근처에서 발생하는 수치진동을 제어하면서 시간과 공간에 대한 2차 정확도를 확보하기 위하여 WAF 기법에 TVD 조건을 갖는 흐름률 제한자를 도입하였으며, Riemann해를 계산하기 위하여 3개의 전파속도를 고려하는 HLLC 방법을 이용하였다. 개수로에서 단면변화를 고려한 2차원 해석을 할 경우, 격자 구성과 경계 처리에서 어려움이 발생한다. 이와 같은 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 일반좌표계를 도입하여 하폭이 변화하는 구간에 발생하는 천이류를 수치모의하였다.

  • 본 논문은 열차제어시스템의 하부구성요소단위 예측신뢰도를 가속스트레스시험을 통해 입증하기 위한 모델링을 연구한다. 예측신뢰도의 입증을 위해서는 전체시스템단위 시운전과 하부구성요소단위 가속수명시험 및 가속스트레스 시험을 통한 방법이 있으며, 본 논문에서는 하부구성요소단위로 정해진 시간동안 가속된 스트레스를 주입하여 장치의 생존여부에 따라 예측신뢰도를 입증하는 가속스트레스 시험을 위한 열차제어시스템의 모델링을 연구하였다. 전자부품으로 구성된 열차제어시스템은 사용온도에 따라 신뢰도가 급격하게 변화한다는 점에 착안하여 아레니우스 방정식 및 전자부품 활성화에너지를 고려하였으며, 가중평균을 사용한 신뢰성시험 모델링을 제시하여 열차제어시스템 가속스트레스시험의 시험시간을 산출하였다.

임내 낙엽층의 연소 방출가스 분석 및 건강 위험성 평가 (Combustion Emission Gas Analysis & Hazard Assessment to the Litter Layer in Forest)

  • 본 연구에서는 우리나라 주요 침엽수종인 소나무(Pinus densiflora)와 활엽수종인 굴참나무(Quercus variabilis)의 낙엽에 대해 FTIR(Fourier Transform Infrared) 분광계를 이용하여 배출 연소가스 종류 및 농도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 소나무와 굴참나무 낙엽에서 Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Acetic acid, Butyl acetate, Ethylene, Methane, Methanol, Nitrogen dioxide, Ammonia, Hydrogen Fluoride, Sulfur dioxide, Hydrogen bromide 등 13개 연소가스가 검출되었고 굴참나무 낙엽에서는 Nitrogen monoxide가 추가로 검출되었다. 방출된 연소가스의 전체 농도는 소나무 낙엽이 굴참나무 낙엽에 비해 4.5배 많이 검출되었다. 특히, 시간가중평균가스농도(TWA : Time-weighted average, ppm) 기준을 초과하는 연소가스는 Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide, Butyl acetate가 검출되었고 단시간노출기준(STEL : Short Term Exposure Limit, ppm) 기준을 초과하는 연소가스는 Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide로 소나무 및 굴참나무 모두에서 나타났다. 이에 산불에서의 낙엽층 지표화 연소시 전체 가스 방출량의 99% 이상을 차지하고 있는 Carbon monoxide, Carbon dioxide의 건강 위험성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 하지만, 검출된 다른 건강 위험성 가스의 경우에도 연소물질의 양이 증가할수록 연소가스의 농도가 높아져 건강안정성에 해가 있을 것으로 판단되며 또한 검출된 연소가스 중 나무의 주요구성 원소가 아닌 Bromide, Fluoride 화합물에 대해서는 토양으로부터의 오염 또는 분석과정에서의 노이즈로 인한 검출 등에 대한 보다 면밀한 검토가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

Voice Activity Detection Based on SNR and Non-Intrusive Speech Intelligibility Estimation

  • This paper proposes a new voice activity detection (VAD) method which is based on SNR and non-intrusive speech intelligibility estimation. In the conventional SNR-based VAD methods, voice activity probability is obtained by estimating frame-wise SNR at each spectral component. However these methods lack performance in various noisy environments. We devise a hybrid VAD method that uses non-intrusive speech intelligibility estimation as well as SNR estimation, where the speech intelligibility score is estimated based on deep neural network. In order to train model parameters of deep neural network, we use MFCC vector and the intrusive speech intelligibility score, STOI (Short-Time Objective Intelligent Measure), as input and output, respectively. We developed speech presence measure to classify each noisy frame as voice or non-voice by calculating the weighted average of the estimated STOI value and the conventional SNR-based VAD value at each frame. Experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance than the conventional VAD method in various noisy environments, especially when the SNR is very low.
