An Implementation of Time Code Generator for Sending Real Time Information (실 시각정보 전송을 위한 시각코드발생기 제작)

  • In this paper, we propose a system that can be used to provide the national standard time for the general public with ease by using the self-implemented independent time-code generator for transmitting standard time information through both the wired and the wireless networks. The newly proposed time code is different from conventional methods in the point that it has a structural advantage of having an ability of obtaining reliable data by repeatedly transmitting the same information. We observe that it is sufficiently possible to transmit the time information with a microsecond level because measurement result shows that the system uncertainty is about few nanosecond of time-error fluctuation through the self characteristic measurement of total system including the time-code generator and decoder system receiving time-information.

Design and Application of the TFM Based System Test Model for the Weapon System Embedded Software (무기체계 임베디드 소프트웨어에 대한 TFM 기반 시스템 테스트 모델 설계 및 적용)

  • In this paper we design the system test model for the weapon system embedded software based on the Time Factor Method(TFM) considering time factors and suggest the results through the case study. For doing this, we discuss the features, system tests and the object-oriented model based UML notations of the weapon system embedded software. And we give a test method considering time factors, a measuring method to time factors, and a test case selection algorithm as an approach to the TFM for designing the system test model. The TFM based system test model consists of three factors (X, Y, Z) in the weapon system embedded software. With this model, we can extract test cases through the selection algorithm for a maximum time path in 'X', identify the objects related to the Sequence Diagram in 'Y' and measure the execution time of each objects which is identified by the Timing Diagram in 'Z' Also, we present the method of extracting the system test cases by applying the proposed system test model to the 'Multi-function missile defense system'.

  • A steady-state controllable M/G/1 queueing model operating under the {T:Min(T,N)} policy is considered where the {T:Min(T,N)} policy is defined as the next busy period will be initiated either after T time units elapsed from the end of the previous busy period if at least one customer arrives at the system during that time period, or after T time units elapsed without a customer' arrival, the time instant when Nth customer arrives at the system or T time units elapsed with at least one customer arrives at the system whichever comes first. After deriving the necessary system characteristics including the expected number of customers in the system, the expected length of busy period and so on, the total expected cost function per unit time for the system operation is constructed to determine the optimal operating policy. To do so, the cost elements associated with such system characteristics including the customers' waiting cost in the system and the server's removal and activating cost are defined. Then, procedures to determine the optimal values of the decision variables included in the operating policy are provided based on minimizing the total expected cost function per unit time to operate the queueing system under considerations.

  • Usually, The data transmission processing efficiency of the distributed system running on high speed networks depends on the system architecture and the data transmission processing system. In order to secure the real-time rate and the system reliability, the real-time distributed simulation system on the distributed environment has tried to satisfy the performance required by the data transmission processing system. However, the client/server-based data transmission processing system in the real-time simulation system has been difficult to satisfy the system stability, extensibility and maintenability, especially when system changes. So, it is natural to study another improved data transmission processing system to solve the problems at the existing real-time simulation system. After analyzing the existing real-time simulation system, this paper will propose the improved real-time data transmission system by using Software Design Pattern, which enhances extensibility, interoperability, reusability and maintenability of the system.

  • It is known that existence of irregular transmission time delay is a major bottleneck for application of advanced robot control schemes to internet telerobotic systems. In the internet teleoperation system, the irregular transmission time delay causes a critical problem, which is unstable and inaccurate. This paper suggests a practical internet teleoperation system with streaming buffer system, which consists of a buffer, a buffer manager, and a control timer.   • In this paper, we proposed small scale real-time operating system for embedded system. Real-time system is characterized by the severe consequences that result if logical as well as timing correctness properties of system are not met. On real-time system, real-time operating system allows real-time applications to be designed and expanded easily. Functions can be added without requiring major changes to the software. We design small scale real-time operating system for preemptive kernel, and design kernel component such as multitasking, scheduler, task priority, semaphore, inter-task communication, clock tick timer, ISR(Interrupt Service Routine) mechanism has low interrupt latency.

  • A combat system for navy's battleship is a system of systems who supports naval indigenous operations by integrating and inter-operating many different kind of weapon and non-weapon systems, which has characteristics of large-scale complex computing system. This paper considers a characteristics of naval combat system which has been developed by domestic technology and suggests a way to improve future naval combat system in terms of computing architecture by applying commercial real-time operating system technologies. This paper also provides an evaluation criteria for combat system adaptability of real-time operating systems.

  • In master-slave teleoperation system, time delay may be a critical problem because a task is performed over a distance. Even if the system is stable without time delay, time delay can make the system unstable. In this paper a new control scheme applicable to the system with time delay would be proposed,which is based on the conventional position-position feedback type controller. The stability of this control system is proved using scattering theory, and is compared with the conventional ones. By performing the simulation of a one-d.o.f master-slave system, the validity of the proposed algorithm is verified.

  • Variable message signs (VMS) have the different sizes and a specific type according to the city scene and it has to be displayed by different message on the display panel in real-time. And VMS manufacturers must produce the different products in order to give a customized product to each order. In addition that, they should test and check the correct operation to each VMS product using the different message frame. That is very time and workers consuming and VMS emulator with an automatic variable message generator system is necessary. Also, the automatic message generator system is needed to real-time scheduling in order to display the message on the VMS panel like real world. In this paper, we design and implement the VMS emulator embedded the automatic message frame generator system with real-time scheduling which can set several parameters easily on the windows dialog.

  • Express subway system is one of the effective systems adapting to improve service level. Express trains make fewer passenger stop, using a double track or a bypass track, than local trains which served all stations, Express service has been very popular with passengers who travel uninterrupted between terminals, but is has generated some dissatisfaction among passengers who experience longer waiting time on stations. This study aims at proposing the methodology to analyze changes of travel pattern in subway system adapting the express service and to estimate the time saving effects resulting from the installation of the express system. This methodology is evaluated in the fifth line under an assumpt ion that express subway system are adapted. Based on the results of the case study, the following conclusions are made: First, express system reduce a total travel time of 13% or above. Second, shorter headway of express trains increases the time saving effects on subway system. although it requests more waiting time to local train passenger. Third, an installation of Express system to Seoul subway system can augment subway demand in seoul metropolitan area.
