전기추진선의 최대추력 운항을 위한 추력손실 억제에 관한 연구 (Suppression of the Thrust Loss for the Maximum Thrust Operation in the Electric Propulsion Ship)

  • This paper presents the thrust loss suppression algorithm in the electric propulsion ship. The thrust loss due to cavitation can be regarded as the disturbance torque. The disturbance torque is estimated by means of the disturbance observer. Considering the estimated disturbance torque, the speed reference of the propeller is modified to suppress the thrust loss. The experimental results which performed in the cavitation tunnel with electric machine operating system and its controller will be shown to verify the proposed algorithm.

전파하는 변동유장 중 전진하며 동요하는 2차원 수중 날개에 의한 추력 (Thrust Caused by Oscillating Two-Dimensional Hydrofoil Moving in Propagating Unsteady Flow Field)

  • This paper considers a two-dimensional hydrofoil that is fully submerged and oscillating with forward speed. The flow field is assumed to be a propagating vertical velocity field. Using the perturbation theory, the problem is linearized, and the leading-order lift force is surveyed. The thrust force is analytically derived as the second-order horizontal force. As an example, the lift and thrust for a flapping flat plate in heaving and pitching modes are analyzed. The parameters affecting the thrust are listed. The thrust is expressed in terms of the quadratic transfer functions in relation to the disturbances. The quadratic transfer functions are studied parametrically to assess the most favorable thrust.

  • In this paper, we propose the shape of extremely small thrust VCM for application of the Nanoindenter, which enables control of very small force and displacement. We performed optimization of the VCM shape using conjugated gradient method. And the purposes of optimization are the minimization of the permanent magnet size for the efficient systems, minimization of deviation of flux density from the air gap for operate on regular thrust and a linearization of thrust for a good control characteristic. The finite element method is used for characteristic analysis. The node moving method is used to redundant changes of design variables. As a result, the VCM produces a yew small force by the difference of flux density of lower part from higher one. Also, in a wide range of current (0[A]-1[A]), the VCM produces linear driving thrust by saturating the magnetic circuit path and operate on regular thrust by minimizing deviation of flux density of the air gap.

  • The linear motor is available for linear transition motion, because of its advantages, the motor design and its application have gradually increased, but the quantitative measurement system of thrust force has not been generalized. Need analysis of correct thrust for control performance improvement of HB-LPM(HB-type Linear Pulse Motor). It is difficult to analyze HB-LPM's thrust. In this paper, HB-LPM's thrust is expressed to mathematical expression. And it is proved validity of this numerical formula by thrust measurement system. Two phase driver is composed. It is verified validity of numerical formula that measure waveform of electric current and voltage that is supplied in each phase.

  • In this paper, linearized dynamic characteristics of parallel line pivoted pad thrust bearing(hereinafter refer to PLP thrust bearing) was analyzed by perturbation method with inlet pressure. Inlet pressure and excitation frequency irfluence dynamic characteristics of PLP thrust bearing at all operating condition, such as angular pivot position, mass of pad. Therefore, the characteristics is have to analyzed with inlet pressure, excitation frequency, mass of pad and thickness of pad. Otherwise, the analysis is able to estimate the characteristics over or under.

Inlet pressure and excitation frequency influence dynamic characteristics of PLP thrust bearing at all operating conditions, such as angular pivot position, mass of pad. Therefore, the characteristics have to be analyzed with inlet pressure, excitation frequency, mass of pad and thickness of pad. Otherwise, the analysis may be over or under estimate.

  • This paper is presented for the design of the thrust yoke for the spindle motors. HDD spindle motors are rotated by fluid dynamic bearing which consists of the shaft and the sleeve with the groove to generate the pressure. Because the thrust and journal clearances between shaft and sleeve is too small, around 8um and 2.5um, respectively, it is very difficult to design the bearing to come up to the disks to read and write the data. By the way, it is also so hard to overcome the load of the disks with only the thrust bearing. So, the paper is proposed for the trust yoke to come up to the disks considering of the force of the thrust bearing. In this paper, we proposed the thrust yoke with an unique fluid dynamic bearing in comparison with the motors without thrust yoke. Experimental results show the performance of the thrust yoke of the spindle motors for an HDD.

Analysis of slope stability based on evaluation of force balance

  • The paper presents a new approach for the analysis of slope stability that is based on the numerical solution of a differential equation, which describes the thrust force distribution within the potential sliding mass. It is based on the evaluation of the thrust force value at the endpoint of the slip line. A coupled approximation of the slip and thrust lines is applied. The model is based on subdivision of the sliding mass into slices that are normal to the slip line and the equilibrium differential equation is obtained as the slice width approaches zero. Opposed to common iterative limit equilibrium procedures the present method is straightforward and gives an estimate of slope stability at the value of the safety factor prescribed in advance by standard requirements. Considering the location of the thrust line within the soil mass above the trial slip line eliminates the possible development of a tensile thrust force in the stable and critical states of the slope. The location of the upper boundary point of the thrust line is determined by the equilibrium of the upper triangular slice. The method can be applied to any smooth shape of a slip line, i.e., to a slip line without break points. An approximation of the slip and thrust lines by quadratic parabolas is used in the numerical examples for a series of slopes.
