A Research on Efficient Skeleton Retargeting Method Suitable for MetaHuman

  • With the rapid development of 3D animation, MetaHuman is widely used in film production, game development and VR production as a virtual human creation platform.In the animation production of virtual humans, motion capture is usually used.Since different motion capture solutions use different skeletons for motion recording, when the skeleton level of recorded animation data is different from that of MetaHuman, the animation data recorded by motion capture cannot be directly used on MetaHuman. This requires Reorient the skeletons of both.This study explores an efficient skeleton reorientation method that can maintain the accuracy of animation data by reducing the number of bone chains.In the experiment, three skeleton structures, Rokoko, Mixamo and Xsens were used for efficient redirection experiments, to compare and analyze the adaptability of different skeleton structures to the MetaHuman skeleton, and to explore which skeleton structure has the highest compatibility with the MetaHuman skeleton.This research provides an efficient skeleton reorientation idea for the production team of 3D animated video content, which can significantly reduce time costs and improve work efficiency.

정익과 동익의 상호작용에 의한 비정상 천이 경계층 유동의 수치해석에 관한 연구 1

  • A Navier-Stokes code with a low Reynolds number k-.epsilon. turbulence model was tested to investigate its predictability for the unsteady transitional boundary layer flow due to rotor-stator interaction. A preliminary calculation with three different numbers of time steps 300, 600, and 1000 for a rotor wake passing period was carried out to see the effects of time steps on the unsteady flow and pressure fields due to rotor-stator interaction. Numerical solutions showed that unsteady pressure was much more sensitive to the number of time steps and over 600 time steps should be used to get a numerical solution independent of the number of time steps for a rotor wake passing period. The original low Reynolds number k-.epsilon. turbulence model showed very poor prediction of the unsteady transitional boundary layer flow due to rotor-stator interaction. This was due to the excessive production of turbulent kinetic energy near the leading edge. A modification suggested by Launder was incorporated and the modified model captured well the wake induced transitional strip. Present solutions also showed improved prediction over previous Euler/boundary layer solution in terms of the onset of unsteady transition and its extent.

이산화탄소-수증기 혼합가스에 대한 파장별 회색가스가중합법에서 회색가스재조합에 대한 연구 (Study on Regrouping of Gray Gases in spectral WSGGM for Arbitrary Mixtures of CO2 and H2O Gases)

  • The WSGG-based narrow band model was employed to solve the radiative transfer equations along isothermal and non-isothermal paths through $CO_2-H_2O-N_2$ gas mixtures at 1 atm. When the WSGGM is applied for arbitrary gas mixtures by considering the multiplication property of transmissivity in overlapping bands, the number of gray gases is significantly increased. To reduce the computation time, three different regrouping methods for the gray gases are tested in obtaining the mean absorption coefficient for each gray gas group. Among them, the regrouping method by minimizing the regrouping error shows the best results. For the isothermal media, 10 gray gases show fairly good agreement with the results by statistical narrow band(SNB) model which are regarded as reference solutions. For non-isothermal media, 20 gray gases show good agreement with reference solutions.

Utilization of Saline Solutions in the Modification of Lignocellulose from Champaca Wood

  • Objective of this work is to study the effects of a saline solution used to pretreat lignocellulosic material derived from champak timber. The native lignocellulosic solids, in powder form, were mixed with saline water solutions of three different concentrations and maintained for 2 weeks without stirring. The treated solids were washed, recovered, and then dried under sunlight. The substrates were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The crystallinity (CrI), lateral order index (LOI), total crystallinity index (TCI), and surface morphologies of all the samples were determined. The treated biomass structures were compared with controls. The data show that the structures of all the treated substrates changed, as indicated by CrI. CrI of the treated substrates decreased significantly compared with that of the original wood, as did LOI and TCI quantities, whereas the HBI parameter increased. The results indicate that the saline water pretreatment modified the wood samples.

Application of artificial neural networks to a double receding contact problem with a rigid stamp

  • This paper presents the possibilities of adapting artificial neural networks (ANNs) to predict the dimensionless parameters related to the maximum contact pressures of an elasticity problem. The plane symmetric double receding contact problem for a rigid stamp and two elastic strips having different elastic constants and heights is considered. The external load is applied to the upper elastic strip by means of a rigid stamp and the lower elastic strip is bonded to a rigid support. The problem is solved under the assumptions that the contact between two elastic strips also between the rigid stamp and the upper elastic strip are frictionless, the effect of gravity force is neglected and only compressive normal tractions can be transmitted through the interfaces. A three layered ANN with backpropagation (BP) algorithm is utilized for prediction of the dimensionless parameters related to the maximum contact pressures. Training and testing patterns are formed by using the theory of elasticity with integral transformation technique. ANN predictions and theoretical solutions are compared and seen that ANN predictions are quite close to the theoretical solutions. It is demonstrated that ANNs is a suitable numerical tool and if properly used, can reduce time consumed.

pH Measurements with a Microcantilever Array-Based Biosensor System

  • In this paper, we present a pH measurement method that uses a microcantilever-array-based biosensor system. It is composed of microcantilever array, liquid cell, micro syringe pump, laser diode array, position sensitive detector, data acquisition device, and data processing software. Four microcantilevers are functionalized with pH-sensitive MHA(mercaptohexadecanoic acid) as a probe, while three microcantilevers are functionalized with HDT(hexadecane thiol) as reference. We prepare PBS(phosphate buffered saline) solutions of different pH and inject them into the liquid cell with a predefined volumetric speed at regular time intervals. The functionalized mircocantilevers in the liquid cell deflect as a self-assembled monolayer on the microcantilever binds with probe molecules in the solution. The difference in deflection between the MHA-covered probe microcantilever and the HDT-covered reference microcantilever was used to compensate for thermal drift. The deflection difference clearly increases with increasing pH in the solution. It was shown that when the pH values of the PBS solutions are high, there were large variations in the deflection of microcantilevers, whereas there were small variations for low pH value. The experimental results show that the microcantilever array functionalized with MHA and HDT can detect pH value with good repeatability.

  • 본 연구에서는 지반 보강재로 폐타이어를 사용함에 있어서 환경적인 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다. 시험은 12개의 침출수 발생장치 속에 모래와 타이어조각들을 섞은 후 세 가지 조건의 용액을 각각 순환시킨 침출수에 대하여 화학적분석과 생물학적 독성영향을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 검출된 모든 금속원소의 오염농도는 우리나라 먹는물 수질기준치보다 훨씬 낮았고, 철을 제외한 모든 금속원소의 농도가 시간이 지남에 따라 줄어드는 것으로 나타났다. 선행된 시험과 비교한 결과 노출되는 금속의 비표면적이 클수록 즉, 타이어칩, 타이어조각, 전체타이어의 순서로 오염물질의 농도가 크게 검출되었다. 형광성 박테리아를 이용한 독성검사의 결과에서는 독성이 발견되는 경향을 보이지 않아 폐타이어에서 나오는 침출수가 유기체에 유해한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 활성탄소를 가지고 수용액으로부터 전이금속이온을 제거 능력에 대해 시험했다. 탄소의 물리적, 화학적 그리고 액체-상 흡착 특징은 다음의 기준 절차로 수행하였다. Ni(II), Cu(II) 그리고 Fe(III)이온의 제거 연구는 흡착물질의 양, 금속이온 용액의 pH, 배치 모드에서 시간을 다양하게 하여 시도되었다. 평균 흡착 데이터는 Freundlich와 Langmuir로 맞춰졌고 등온 상수는 계산되었다. 다른 세가지 금속 이온의 평균 시간은 결정되었다. pH는 흡착에 있어서 중요한 역할을 하는 것을 발견했다. 이 과정은 흡열반응이었고, 열역학 인자는 계산되었다. 흡착 연구는 이온교환 메커니즘이 작용되는 것을 나타내고 있다.

Simulation of fracture in plain concrete modeled as a composite material

  • A composite model is used to represent the heterogeneity of plain concrete consisting of coarse aggregates, mortar matrix and the mortar-aggregate interface. The composite elements of plain concrete are modeled using triangular finite element units which have six interface nodes along the sides. Fracture is captured through a constitutive single branch softening-fracture law at the interface nodes, which bounds the elastic domain inside each triangular unit. The inelastic displacement at an interface node represents the crack opening or sliding displacement and is conjugate to the internodal force. The path-dependent softening behaviour is developed within a quasi-prescribed displacement control formulation. The crack profile is restricted to the interface boundaries of the defined mesh. No re-meshing is carried out. Solutions to the rate formulation are obtained using a mathematical programming procedure in the form of a linear complementary problem. An event by event solution strategy is adopted to eliminate solutions with simultaneous formation of softening zones in symmetric problems. The composite plain concrete model is compared to experimental results for the tensile crack growth in a Brazilian test and three-point bending tests on different sized specimens. The model is also used to simulate wedge-type shear-compression failure directly under the loading platen of a Brazilian test.

제 2일째 생쥐 배아의 초자화동결과 초급속동결 (Vitrification and Ultrarapid Freezing of Day 2 Mouse Embryos)

  • Objective: The study was performed to compare the survival rate and the development of day 2 mouse embryos which had freezing procedures done. Methods: We used three different vitrification solutions (EFS, VS14, DPS) and a ultrarapid freezing solution (UFS) for cryopreservation of day 2 mouse embryo. Results: We tested toxicity by exposing embryos to vitirification solutions and a ultrarapid freezing solution. The survival rates are 100%, 97.8%, 95.6% and 100% (EFS, VS14, DPS and UFS). After cultured for 96 hours, hatching rates of each group are 93.5% (no freezing), 95.6% (EFS), 86.4% (VS14), 93.0% (DPS), and 93.0% (UFS). There is no significant differences among groups. The survival rates after thawing cryopreserved embryos are 80.2%, 91.7%, 69.5%, 0% and 91.8% (slow freezing, EFS, VS14, DPS and UFS). Also cultured for 96 hours, the hatching rates are 93.5% (no freezing), 84.1% (slow freezing), 93.9% (EFS), 48.5% (VS14) and 70.1% (UFS). Conclusion: The survival rates of vitrification in EFS solution and ultrarapid freezing are higher than slow freezing (p<0.05). The hatching rate of vitrification in EFS solution cultured for 96 hours is highest, so vitrification of day 2 mouse embryos in EFS solution considered as more effective for cryopreservation.
