  • This study examines the stealth function of sputtered fabric with an infrared thermal imaging camera in terms of the thermal and infrared (IR) transmittance characteristics. Various base fabrics were selected, infrared imaging was performed, and infrared transmittance was measured. By infrared camera experiment it was found that the sample was concealed because it had a similar color to the surroundings when the aluminum layer was directed toward the outside. In addition, a comparison of the infrared thermographic image of the untreated sample and the sputtered sample in the laboratory showed that the difference in ${\Delta}E$ value ranged from 31 to 90.4 and demonstrated effective concealment. However, concealment was not observed in the case of the 3-layer (Nylon-Al-Nylon) model when a sputtered aluminum layer existed between two nylon layers. The direction of the sputtering layer did not affect the infrared transmittance in the infrared transmittance experiment. Therefore, it seems better to interpret the concealing effect in the infrared thermographic images by using thermal transfer theory rather than infrared transmittance theory. We believe that the results of this study will be applicable to developing high performance smart clothing and military uniforms.

  • This study was conducted to investigate whether treatment with Korean medicine might help to improve symptoms of patients diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. A patient diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome was hospitalized for 15 days from October 4, 2018 to October 18, 2018 and treated using Korean medicine (Sinbaro3 pharmacopuncture, acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and herbal medicine). Therapeutic effects were evaluated using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), House-Brackmann grade, Yanagihara's score survey, and Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging (DITI). After treatment, the Numerical Rating Scale score (6 at admission down to 2 points at discharge), House-Brackmann grade (Grade V down to Grade II), Yanagihara's score (6.0 up to 22.0), and Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging showed improvement from admission to discharge. Treatment with traditional Korean medicine, may help improve symptoms of Ramsay Hunt Syndrome such as facial nerve paralysis, neuralgia after paraplegia, hearing difficulties, and dizziness.

  • Dynamic monitoring of weld pool formation and seam deviations using infrared vision is described in this paper. Isothermal contours representing heat dissipation characteristics during the process of arc welding were analysed and processed using imaging techniques. Maximum bead width and penetration were recorded and the geometric position in relation to the welding seam was measured at each sampling point. Deviations from the desired bead geometry and welding path were sensed and their thermographic representations were digitised and welding path were sensed and their thermographic representations were digitised and subsequently identified. Evidence suggested that infrared thermography can be utilized to compensate for inaccuracies encountered in real-time during robotic arc welding.

  • This study of purpose was to evaluate the changes in hands and feet temperature by applying massage and paraffin bath.. The subject of this study was 30 university healthy students. Subjects were divided into paraffin bath group and massages group. The digital infrared thermographic imaging was used for thermographic analysis. The visual analog scale was used for subjective information about the degree of cold sensitivity and cold stress test was used for analyzing the temperature recovery rate. After the interventions showed that temperature difference of the right hand and temperature difference of the left hand are less in the paraffin group than the massage group. When applied paraffin bath and massage to the cold hypersensitivity patient the massage group showed difference in the visual analog scale and the paraffin group showed difference in the temperature of the right hand, left hand, left foot and in the visual analog scale. Paraffin bath treatment seems to be useful to patients with cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet.

  • Objective: I carried out this study for research on thermographic change of DITI by Sugi Therapy. Methods: This study was conducted on 22 normal cases (M : F =4:18) with no past history to observe the effect of Sugi Therapy. 22 cases were divided into 2 groups. One group is a control group treated by only Acupuncture Therapy. The other group is a treatment group treated by Acupuncture Therapy and Sugi Therapy. I measured temperature of abdomen and palm by DITI (Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging) before and after treatment Result: 1. Overall the temperature difference of the treatment group was bigger than that of the control group. 2. On the palm, the average value of the treatment group was -0.56±0.70, which is lower 10 times than -0.06±0.91 of the control group. 3. On Chung-wan(CV12), the average value of the treatment group was 1.20±0.49, which is 2.15 times higher than 0.56±0.44 of the control group. 4. On Kwanwon(CV4), the average value of the treatment group was 0.77±0.73, which is 1.38 times higher than 0.55±0.39 of the control group. 5. To compare the temperature difference on the palm, Chung-wan(CV12) and Kwanwon(CV4) before and after treatment, the order is like this :Chung-wan(CV12) > Kwanwon(CV4) > palm of all treatment group and control group. Conclusion: I came to a conclusion that Sugi Theraphy is likely to work better with Acupuncture Therapy better than only Acupuncture Therapy, especially on Chung-wan(CV12).

  • This study was carried out to assess the usefulness of thermography for diagnosis and healing process of musculoskeletal disorder in horses. Horses with experimentally induced infectious arthritis were treated with bee venom or antibiotics for 5 weeks from 24 hours after inoculation of Staphylococcus aureus, the effectiveness of the 2 therapeutic drugs treatment was similar to each other. Thermographic evaluation was similar to any other tests, because the thermal pattern tend to return to normal with declining similar to those of clinical signs, laboratory experiments and healing of the lesion. This ability to assess inflammatory change noninvasively make thermography an ideal imaging tool to aid in the diagnosis of certain lameness condition or musculoskeletal disease in horses. These results suggested that thermographic evaluation in horses with musculoskeletal disorders were useful for diagnosis and helpful for monitoring of healing process.

  • There has been several usual ways to cure pain in osteological muscle: use oral medicine or injection, or apply medicine to a sore place. The purpose of this study was to examine, by using thermometer and digital infrared thermographic imaging, how much the permeation of aceclofenac, an anodyne and antiphlogistic, into sore skin brought a change to skin temperature after that was' applied to it. The findings of this study were as below; 1. A cream made of aceclofenac yielded $0.61^{\circ}C$ difference in temperature, but the difference wasn't statistically significant. 2. An aceclofenac to which oleic acid was added went through microemulsion and applied, and there was $0.3^{\circ}C$ change in temperature, the biggest significant difference(P<.05), after approximately 15 minutes passed. 3. An aceclofenac to which labrasol was added went through microemulsion and applied, and there was a growing rise in temperature with the lapse of time. After 30 minutes passed, the final temperature showed $1.25^{\circ}C$ rise, which was a significant change(P<.05). 4. As the temperature was measured by digital infrared thermographic imaging, there was about $3.97^{\circ}C$ fall, the biggest change, which was significant(P<.05). The findings of this study suggested that the application of aceclofenac to sore skin caused a change in skin temperature, as that permeated into it.

  • In this study, change of body surface temperature was measured using Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging(DITI) to check muscle fatigue recovery & muscle pain control by magnetic stimulations. For clinical trials, subjects were divided into 3 groups : non stimulation group(NSG), electrical stimulation group(ESG) and micro magnetic stimulation group(MSG). In result, temperature differences between left and right arm surfaces were measured as much as $0.86{\pm}0.43^{\circ}C$(n=96) after the exercise, $0.78{\pm}0.12^{\circ}C$ after the electrical stimulation and $0.1{\pm}0.39^{\circ}C$ after the micro magnetic stimulation. Also after 3days, temperature differences between left and right arm surfaces were measured as much as $0.3{\pm}0.14^{\circ}C$ in the NSG, $0.05{\pm}0.21^{\circ}C$ in the ESG and $0.03{\pm}0.21^{\circ}C$ in the MSG. These data showed that the lowest temperature difference between left/right body surface was measured in MSG.
