In this paper, we present thermal dependancy of LED package element by changing temperature of MCPCB for design high efficiency LED lamp, and confirmed influence of LED chip against temperature with analysis of thermal resistance and thermal capacitance. As increasing temperature, WPOs were decreased from 25 to 22.5 [%] and optical power were also decreased. that is decreased reason of optical power that forward voltage was declined by decrease of energy bandgap. Therefore optical power by temperature of MCPCB should consider to design lamp for street light and security light. Moreover, compensation from declined optical efficiency is demanded when LED package is composed. Also, thermal resistances from chip to metal PCB were decreased from 12.18 to 10.8[$^{\circ}C/W$] by changing temperature. Among the thermal resistances, the thermal resistance form chip to die attachment was decreased from 2.87 to 2.5[$^{\circ}C/W$] and was decreased 0.72[$^{\circ}C/W$] in Heat Slug by chaning temperature. Therefore, because of thermal resistance gap in chip and heat slug, reliability and endurance of high power LED affect by increasing non-radiative recombination in chip from heat.
Cylindrical stainless-steel/sodium heat pipe for a high-temperature solar thermal application was manufactured and tested for transient and steady-state operations. Two layers of stainless-steel screen mesh wick was inserted as a capillary structure. The outer diameter of the heat pipe was 12.7 mm and the total length was 250 mm. The effective heat transport length, the thermal load, and the operating temperature were varied as thermal transport conditions of the heat pipe. The thermal load was supplied by an electric furnace up to 1kW and the cooling was performed by forced convection of air The effective thermal conductivity and the thermal resistance were investigated as a function of heat flux, heat transport length, and vapor temperature. Typical range of the total effective thermal conductivity was as low as 43,500 W/m K for heat flux of 176.4 kW/$m^2$ and of operating temperature of 1000 K.

In this paper, thermal response analysis of a temperature controlled three-axis accelerometer for high temperature environments with integrated micro-heaters and temperature sensors is investigated with finite element method (FEM) program, ANSYS and infrared thermal measurement systems. And availability to application fields from a viewpoint about short thermal response time is discussed. In this paper, the time of three-axis accelerometer for high temperatures becoming $300^{\circ}C$ by integrated micro-heaters and temperature sensors to reduce thermal drift characteristics was analyzed as a thermal response time of this device. The simulated thermal response time (time until SOI piezoresistors actually becomes $300^{\circ}C$) of three-axis accelerometer for high temperatures with ANSYS is about 0.6s, and measured result with infrared temperature measurement systems is about 0.64s. Experimental results using infrared thermal measurement systems agreed well with these theoretical results.
We compared relative importance of thermal conductivity and initial ground temperature in designing borehole heat exchanger network and also we test accuracy of ground temperature estimation in thermal response test using a proven 3-D T-H modeler. The effect of error in estimating ground temperature on calculated total length of borehole heat exchanger was more than 3 times larger than the case of thermal conductivity in maximum 20% error range. Considering 10% of error in estimating thermal conductivity is generally acceptable, we have to define the initial ground temperature within 5% confidence level. Utilizing the mean annual ground surface temperature and the geothermal gradient map compiled so far can be a economic way of estimating ground temperature with some caution. When performing thermal response test for estimating ground temperature as well as measuring thermal conductivity, minimum 100 minutes of ambient circulation is required, which should be even more in case of very cold and hot seasons.
The aim of the research was to evaluate the characteristics of indoor thermal environment and thermal sensation in the traditional Ondol room. Indoor thermal factors including air temperature, operative temperature, floor surface temperature, relative humidity, PMV, OT were measured, and survey was carried out to understand subjective responses of resident's related to indoor thermal environment in Ondol room. The analysed houses are: the Chung hyo dang(the head house of Ryu family in Andong) and the Pyeung won jung(the traditional house in Yesan). The purpose of the survey was to know the relationship between resident's sensation and thermal environmental indicators such as air temperature, relative humidity, floor surface temperature, OT. The experimental results have pointed out how Ondol room may lead to comfortable and uniform indoor thermal environments.
Thermomechanical characteristics of rocks such as thermal shock, thermal expansion, thermal cracking were experimentally investigaed using Iksan granite, Cheonan tonalite and Chung-ju dolomite to obtain the basic data for proper design and Chung-ju dolomite to obtain the basic data for proper design and stability analysis of underground structures subjected to temperature changes. The effect of thermal shock did not appear when the heating speed was under 3$^{\circ}C$/min. and there existed little difference between multi-staged cyclic heating and single-cycled heating. Thermal expansion of rocks was affected by mineral composition, crack porosity and the degree of thermal craking. In quartz-beraring multimineralic rocks such as Iksan granite and Cheonan tonalite, the thermal expansion coefficient increaseed continuously with temperature rise, but that of Chung-ju dolomite which was a monomineralic rock showed a constant value for the temperature above 250$^{\circ}C$, Chung-ju dolomite yielded the lowest critical threshold temperature(Tc) of 100$^{\circ}C$ and unstable thermal cracking was initiated above the new threshold temperature(Tc')of 300$^{\circ}C$. Above Tc' thermal cracks grew but they were not interconnected. Iksan granite showed closing of microcracks to the temperature of 100$^{\circ}C$, then expanded linearly to Tc of 200$^{\circ}C$. Above Tc, thermal cracking was initiated and progressed rapidly and almost all the grain boundaries were cracked at 600$^{\circ}C$. Cheonan tonalite also showed similar behavior to iksan granite except that Tc was 350$^{\circ}C$ and that thermal cracks propagated more rapidly. Thermal expansions calculated by Turner's equation were found to be valid in predicting the thermal expansion and cracking behavior of rocks.
The aim of the research was to evaluate the characteristics of thermal environment and thermal comfort in the Dry Double floors Hydronic Ondol System. Physical indoor thermal environments (the floor surface temperature, the vertical temperature, etc.) and skin temperature have especially been measured. Physical features conditions, sensation, thermal comfort, humidity sensation, comfort of body were investigated for the survey. As a result, (1) During the operation of the boiler (12 hour), the average indoor temperature is appeared to be $21.6^{\circ}C$. The floor surface temperature showed peak value of $31.4{\sim}40.6^{\circ}C$ after 8hours 30minutes after the start-point of the heating. The vertical difference of temperature was turned out to be not uniform. (2) While the skin temperature showed a narrow distribution of temperature in the Dry Double floors Hydronic Ondol system. (3) The response to thermal comfort which people felt was satisfactory, and most of them felt dry during the test.
The study was carried out through measuring the temperature and humidity of the indoor/outdoor space and the distribution of interior thermal condition, and investigating the effect of loess materials on human body. The purpose of this study is to analyze the change of dry bulb temperature and relative humidity and correlation of thermal reaction of human body with ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning) comfort chart in the loess interior space. In the view point of biomedical sciences, loess interior space provides optimum thermal conditions for human thermal sensation.
The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of the thermal environment, and to analyze the relationship between the thermal reactions and the skin temperatures in the lying position in the radiant floor heating system. The results are as follows: 1) The globe temperature was nearly equal to the operative temperature in the room. 2) The floor surface temperature and the globe temperature were 26.4$^{\circ}C$ and 23.6$^{\circ}C$, respectively when the whole body temperature was at neutral point. 3) The mean temperature of the six skin parts was 31.3$^{\circ}C$ (cold thermal environment); 34.1$^{\circ}C$ (neutral thermal environment); 35.1$^{\circ}C$ (hot thermal environment).
The thermal properties of insulation material are essential to develop a high-temperature superconducting (HTS) power cable to be operated at around liquid nitrogen temperature. Unlike metallic materials, nonmetallic materials have a high thermal resistance; therefore special attention needs to be paid to estimate heat flow correctly. Thus, we have developed a precise instrument for measuring the thermal conductivity of insulating materials over a temperature range from 40 K to near room temperature using a cryocooler. Firstly, the measurement of thermal conductivity for Teflon is carried out for accuracy confirmation. For a supplied heat flux, the temperature difference between warm and cold side is measured in steady state, from which the thermal conductivity of Teflon is calculated and compared with published result of NIST. In addition, the apparent thermal conductivity of Polypropylene laminated paper (PPLP) is presented and its temperature dependency is discussed.
