Nowaday the conventional solar collector material prices are rising up because of pricy metal material over the world. The solar collector is too expensive to recycle to save the earth. Advanced polymer research is founded a high thermal resistant polymer and also it has high sun energy transmission. It also has cheaper material and easy manufacturing process, compare with conventional solar collector material. This paper is focussing on glazing simulation of polymer solar collector against wind pressure. The modeling geometry of polymer solar glazing are purposed by single layer, double layer hollow, zig-zag and tower. A simulation by using the Finite Volume was conducted to get Factor of Safety (FoS). The purpose of this paper is to find the best polymer glazing design, which can be as reference for the solar collector company to build Polymer. Hope fully new model of polymer solar collector has cheap, light, high sun energy transmitter, easy to be made and strong against wind force characteristics.
[ $LiCoO_2$ ] a cathode material for lithium rechargeable batteries, was prepared using recycled $Co_3O_4$. First, the cobalt hydroxide powders were separated from waste WC-Co hard metal with acid-base chemical treatment, and then the impurities were eliminated by centrifuge method. Subsequently, $Co_3O_4$ powders were prepared by thermal treatment of resulting $Co(OH)_2$. By adding a certain amount of $Li_2CO_3$ and $LiOH{\cdot}H_2O$, the $LiCoO_2$ was obtained by sintering for 10 h in air at $800^{\circ}C$. The synthesized $LiCoO_2$ particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis.
To recycle coal bottom ash(denoted here as CBA) generated from thermal power plants as a functional construction material, artificial soil(denoted as AS) containing CBA with dredged soil(denoted as DS) at a ratio(wt%) of 70 : 30 was manufactured by means of material engineering with sintering in a rotary kiln at $1125^{\circ}C$ using a green body formed via extrusion processing. The properties of the soil mechanics of the AS and the as-received CBA were analyzed and compared. Compaction testing results determined an optimum moisture content of the AS and CBA at 18%. During these tests, the maximum dry unit weights of the materials were similar, at 1.57 and 1.58 $t/m^3$, respectively. The compressive strength levels of the AS and CBA concrete specimens were 5.1 and 5.4 $t/m^3$, respectively, both of which increased after materials engineering processing. In a consolidation test, the compression index of the AS and CBA was found to be $0.114{\pm}0.001$ in both cases. The values were similar regardless of the materials engineering processes, but during the consolidation of AS, its coefficient was higher than that of the CBA materials.
This study investigated the characteristics of co-combustion of mixed anthracite (domestic and Vietnam) and bituminous coal (Sonoma, Australia) at circulating fluidized bed boiler in Donghae thermal power plant when mixing ratio of bituminous coal is variable. Co-combustion of bituminous coal contributes to improvement in general combustion characteristics such as moderately retaining temperature of furnace and recycle loop, reducing unburned carbon powder, and reducing discharge concentration of NOx and limestone supply owing to improvement in anthracite combustibility as the mixing ratio was increased. However, bed materials were needed to be added externally when the mixing ratio exceeded 40% because of reduction in generating bed materials based on reduction in ash production. When co-combustion was conducted in the section of 40 to 60% in the mixing ratio while the supplied particles of bituminous coal was increased from 6 mm to 10 mm, continuous operation was shown to be possible with upper differential pressure of 100 mmH2O (0.98 kPa) and more without addition of bed materials for the co-combustion of mixed anthracite and bituminous coal (to 50% or less of the ratio) and that of domestic coal and bituminous coal (to 60% of the ratio).

For the purpose of reducing the amount of limestone, which is used as a desulfurization agent to absorbing $SO_X$ gas in thermal power plants, and to recycle limestone sludge generated from a steel mill, limestone sludge was utilized as a desulfurization agent. In this study, cement, made of flue gas desulfurization (FGD) gypsum obtained in a desulfurization process using limestone sludge, was manufactured then, experiments were conducted to identify the physical properties of the paste and mortar using the cement. The results of the crystal phase and microstructure analyses showed that the hydration product of the manufactured cement was similar to that of ordinary Portland cement. No significant decline of workability or compressive strength was observed for any of the specimens. From the results of the experiment, it was determined that FGD gypsum manufactured from limestone sludge did not influence the physical properties of the cement also, quality change did not occur with the use of limestone sludge in the flue gas desulfurization process.

The 125kW external reforming (ER) type molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) system for developing a commercial prototype has been operated at Boryeong thermal power plant site since the end of 2009. The system consists of 125kW stack with $10,000 cm^2$ effective area, mechanical balance of plant (MBOP) with anode recycle system, and electrical balance of plant (EBOP). The 125kW MCFC stack installed in December, 2009 has been operated from January, 2010 after 20 days pre-treatment. The stack open circuit voltage (OCV) was 214V at initial load operation, which approaches the thermodynamically theoretical voltage. The stack voltage remained stable range from 160V to 180V at the maximum generating power of 120 kW DC. The stack has been operated for 3,270 hours and operated at rated power for 1,200 hours.
To recycle raw fly ash (RFA), a waste from thermal power plants, it was used to prepare solid catalysts which have many advantages compared with homogenous catalysts. When biodiesel was produced from soybean oil using RFA, only 1.2% of biodiesel conversion was obtained. A metal hydroxide, NaOH, KOH or $Ca(OH)_2$, was mixed with the acid-treated fly ash (ATFA), and the mixture was calcined at $700^{\circ}C$ for 3 h to prepare the solid catalyst. The solid catalyst prepared by mixing ATFA with NaOH, designated as SC-Na, showed a better performance than those prepared by mixing ATFA with KOH or $Ca(OH)_2$, respectively. The optimal mass ratio of ATFA with NaOH was 1:3, at which the proportion of $Na_2O$ increased to 60.2% in SC-Na, and 97.8% of biodiesel conversion was achieved under optimal reaction conditions (2 w% SC-Na relative to oil and 5 mL-methanol/g-oil at $50^{\circ}C$ for 4 h). Finally, a batch operation was repeatedly carried out to test the feasibility of reusing the solid catalyst, and more than 96% biodiesel conversion was stably achieved for the third round of operations. This study shows that RFA was successfully recycled to solid catalysts through a simple preparation method, and the solid catalyst was reused for the production of biodiesel with high conversion.

The purpose of this research is to design an imitation boiler similar to the waste heat boiler installed on a plasma melting furnace in order to acquire a capability of a thermal design as to the circulation of heat and the discharge of noxious gas inside a boiler and to improve the efficiency of a waste heat boiler using the CFD (Computation Fluid Dynamics) program. The position of corrosion and the generation of a clinker inside a boiler due to temperature changes, combustion gas flows, and corrosive gases inside a boiler are examined to design the structure of an efficient boiler and recycle energy. As a result of this research, the boiler installed on a plasma melting furnace met the conditions of design by cooling the combustion gases discharged after the second combustion from an exhaust port, originally at 1,200 degrees Celsius, down to around 450 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the circulation of corrosive gases (SOx and HCL) may lead to the generation of corrosion or a clinker in the upper and lower parts of an exhaust port more easily than any other parts of a boiler. Accordingly, the corrosion on the inside and outside walls of a boiler may result in a shortened lifespan of a boiler and an inability to recycle waste heat in an efficient manner. A prevention against corrosion at high and low temperatures needs to be considered in detail.
Waste lubricating oil(WLO)s have been recycled as energy source through direct fuel in cement kilns and fossil power plants, or as fuel oils, or re-refined lubricating base oils. In our country, they have been recycled as low grade fuel oil through chemical treatment process. In 2003, extended producer responsibility (EPR) system was adopted from deposit system on sale of lubricating oils in order to promote their recycleing rate. However, our recycling rate of WLOs have been stagnant(below 70%) for last 5 years. And there has been no research work on recycling of WLOs as re-refined base oil until now in this country. Stabilization technology of thermally cracked oils to reduce tar and malodor and to improve their color for production of high grade fuel oil, and a novel process production of high grade re-refined lubricating base oil from WLOs have been developed and commercialized recently in Canada and U.S.A., respectively. Several countries like Australia, Italy, Germany and U.S.A., etc. are encouraging recycling companies to recycle WLOs as re-refined lubricating oil by giving greater subsidies or benefits compared to other recycling methods. They also adopt a policy to purchase re-refined lubricating oil preferentially in the federal or local governments and to recommend consumers to purchase it willingly. Based on the facts that several advanced countries have adopted a policy to recycle WLOs as re-refined base oil for saving of petroleum resource and reduction of environmental pollution, it is right time to be considered that our present policy for recycling of WLOs should be reevaluated and the new policy of their environmental-friendly and sustainable recycling should be established.
In-depth understanding of the influence of hot pressing and melt processing on the properties of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is critical for effective mechanical recycling of TPU scraps. Therefore, this study focused on the effects of hot pressing and melt mixing on molecular weight (MW), polydispersity index (PDI), melt index (MI), characteristic IR peaks, hardness, thermal degradation and mechanical properties of TPU. The original TPU pellet (o-TPU) showed two broad peaks at lower and higher MW regions. However, four TPU film samples, TPU-0 prepared only by hot pressing of o-TPU pellet and TPU-1, TPU-2 and TPU-3 obtained by hot pressing of melt mixed TPUs (where the numbers indicate the run number of melt mixing), exhibited only a single peak at higher MW region. The TPU-0 film sample had the highest $M_n$ and the lowest PDI and hardness. The TPU-1 film sample had the highest $M_w$ and tensile modulus. As the run number of melt mixing increased, the peak-intensity of hydrogen bonded C=O stretching increased, however, the free C=O peak intensity, tensile strength/elongation at break and average MW decreased. All the samples showed two stage degradations. The degradation temperatures of TPU-0 sample (359 $^{\circ}C$ and 394 $^{\circ}C$)were higher than those of o-TPU (342 $^{\circ}C$ and 391 $^{\circ}C$). While all the melt mixed samples degraded at almost the same temperature (365 $^{\circ}C$ and 381 $^{\circ}C$). The first round of hot pressing and melt mixing was found to be the critical condition which led to the significant changes of $M_n$/$M_w$/PDI, MI, mechanical property and thermal degradation of TPU.
