In this study, we analyzed the maximum output power characteristics of crystalline silicon photovoltaic module by change of environmental effects. The electrical, optical and thermal property of PV modules were investigated during outdoor test period about 70 days. There was a fluctuation in maximum output power by change in transmittance caused by environment effects like rain, snow and dust. The effects of external environmental change were analyzed using climate data. Also local thermal temperature variation and transmittance imbalance on surface of PV module which might lead degradation of constituent material were detected using infrared camera. The further analysis is describe in the following paper.
An acetaldehyde, a representative food waste odor, was decomposed using a hybrid system comprised of a non-thermal plasma and catalyst at an ambient temperature under high humidity. A five wt.% Mn was impregnated on two differently structured microporous zeolites, namely Beta and ZSM-5, with a different molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3. Under high humidity conditions, the acetaldehyde degradation was higher in zeolites with the high ratio of SiO2/Al2O3. Among studied catalysts, a five wt.% Mn/Beta (SiO2/Al2O3 = 300) showed the highest acetaldehyde removal activity owing to its high hydrophobicity and reducibility. During long term stability test using the same catalyst for 110 hours, the acetaldehyde removal activity was relatively well-maintained.

Hydrogels are crosslinked hydrophilic matrices for a variety of biomedical applications. Silk fibroin (SF), one of typical natural biomaterials, has been explored as base material for hydrogel. Photocrosslinked SF hydrogel containing poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) was formulated through visible light initiated thiol-acrylate photopolymerization. The morphological, structural and thermal properties of SF - PEG hydrogel was investigated through scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffractometry, thermogravimetry, and differential scanning calorimetry. The morphology of SF hydrogel showed dot and uneven surface with network cross-section. X-ray diffraction curves showed that the specific diffraction peaks of PEG were not changed by the intensity of the peaks were affected by sonication. Thermo-degradation behavior of SF - PEG hydrogel sonicated was significantly affected and became complex pattern compared to unsonicated ones. However, the melting endothermic temperature of SF - PEG hydrogel was not changed but the crystalline enthalpy was decreased by gelation and sonication.

Metal-ferroelectric-insulator-semiconductor(WFIS) capacitors using rapid thermal annealed LiNbO$_3$/AlN/Si(100) structure were fabricated and demonstrated nonvolatile memory operations. The capacitors on highly doped Si wafer showed hysteresis behavior like a butterfly shape due to the ferroelectric nature of the LiNbO$_3$ films. The typical dielectric constant value of LiNbO$_3$ film in the MFIS device was about 27, The gate leakage current density of the MFIS capacitor was 10$^{-9}$ A/cm$^2$ order at the electric field of 500 kV/cm. The typical measured remnant polarization(2P$_{r}$) and coercive filed(Ec) values were about 1.2 $\mu$C/cm$^2$ and 120 kV/cm, respectively The ferroelectric capacitors showed no polarization degradation up to 10$^{11}$ switching cycles when subjected to symmetric bipolar voltage pulses of 1 MHz. The switching charges degraded only by 10 % of their initial values after 4 days at room temperature.e.

Components in thermal power plants are subjected to service conditions under which creep damages take place causing material exhaustion. Comprehensive creep damage investigations have been performed on a 0.5Cr0.5Mo0.25V pipe bend which had been taken out of service after 117,603h and 501 start-ups because of severe cracks. The propagation of creep damage in a long term exposed pipe bend has been analysed by the replication, Indentation and hardness tests. Also, Calculation of creep lifetime has been investigated in order to verify actual lifetime of a damaged pipe bend. By measuring diametrical expansion, Accumulated creep strain and creep strain rate were calculated. Calculated results of creep lifetime on the Larson-Miller Parameter method are good agreement with actual service-exposed hour.

This analysis demonstrates the effective removal of heat generated from a solar panel's output degradation factor solar cells (the solar panel's output deterioration factor), and solves the problems of oxidation and corrosion in existing metal heat sinks. The heat-dissipating test specimen was prepared using carbon materials; then, its thermal conductivity and its effectiveness in reducing temperatures were studied using heat transfer numerical analysis. As a result, the test specimen of the 30g/㎡ basis weight containing 80% of carbon fiber impregnated with carbon ink showed the highest thermal conductivity 6.96 W/(m K). This is because the surface that directly contacted the solar panel had almost no pores, and the conduction of heat to the panels appeared to be active. In addition, a large surface area was exposed to the atmosphere, which is considered advantageous in heat dissipation. Finally, numerical analysis confirmed the temperature reduction effectiveness of 2.18℃ in a solar panel and 1.08℃ in a solar cell, depending on the application of heat dissipating materials.
In the present work, a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) composite, filled with Zn-ion coated structural silica encapsulated with the diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA), was synthesized using the conventional melt-blending technique in a sigma internal mixer. The catalytic activity of the Zn-ions (originating from the structural silica) towards the oxirane group (diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA): encapsulating agent) was assessed by infrared spectroscopy. Two composites, each with a filler content of $2.5 wt\%$ were developed. The first one was obtained by melt blending the Zn-ion coated structural silica with LDPE in a co-rotating sigma internal mixer. The second one was obtained by melt blending the same LDPE, but with DGEBA encapsulated Zn-ion coated structural silica. Epoxy resin encapsulation of the Zn-ion coated structural silica resulted in its having good interfacial adhesion and a homogeneous dispersion in the polymer matrix. Furthermore, the encapsulation of epoxy resin over the Zn-ion coated structural silica showed improvements in both the mechanical and thermal properties, viz. a $33\%$ increase in the elastic modulus and a rise in the onset degradation temperature from 355 to $371^{\circ}C$, in comparison to the Zn-ion coated structural silica.

Epoxy/graphite/expanded graphite composites have been prepared in various weight ratios and thermal degradation and electrical properties were estimated in order to use for the bipolar plate materials in PEMFC. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that the epoxy/graphite system cured by a curing agent GX-533 was most proper because its weight loss until $80^{\circ}C$ at which PEMFC would be operated was 0.3 wt%, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis showed its cure temperature would be sufficient at $80^{\circ}C$. The activation energy for the cure reaction was 132.0 kJ/mol and the pre-exponential factor was $1.76{\times}10^{17}min^{-1}$. Electrical conductivity on the surface of the bipolar plate prepared under a pressure of 200 $kgf/cm^2$ was increased from 4 to 25 $S/cm^2$ by increasing expanded graphite (EG) content from 50 phr to 90 phr. The percolation threshold was initiated around 75 phr and the corrosion rate at 80 phr was 1.903 $uA/cm^2$.

In order to prevent the thermal and enviromenatal degradation of contact materials a nickel layer was plated as an undercoat of gold plating on the surface phosphorous bronze. The thickness of nikel and gold coating and chemical resistance of the coatings were measured at various conditions. Variation of morphology and chemical composition was studied by SEM, EDS and ESCA, respectively. Nickel layer was found to act as a thermal diffusion barrier and to retard the diffusion of copper from substrate to gold coating in the temperature $200^{\circ}C$~$400^{\circ}C$. below $200^{\circ}C$gold coated contacts showed a stable and low contanct resistance, while above $200^{\circ}C$ rapid diffusion of copper formed copper oxide on the surface layer and raised the contact resistance. With the nickel thinkness of abount 5$\mu$m as an undercoat the gold thinkness of $0.5\mu$m, showed satistactory (less than 1 m$\Omega$) contact resistance below 20$0^{\circ}C$ and corresponding gold thinkness increased to 1.0 m at $300^{\circ}C$~$400^{\circ}C$.
A computer code COSMOS has been developed based on the CARO-D5 for the thermal analysis of LWR UO$_2$ and MOX fuel rod under steady-state and transient operating conditions. The main purpose of the COSMOS, which considers high turnup characteristics such as thermal conductivity degradation with turnup and rim formation at the outer part of fuel pellet, is to calculate temperature profile across fuel pellet and fission gas release up to high burnup. A new mechanistic fission gas release model developed based on physical processes has been incorporated into the code. In addition, the features of MOX fuel such as change in themo-mechanical properties and the effect of microscopic heterogeneity on fission gas release have been also taken into account so that it can be applied to MOX fuel. Another important feature of the COSMOS is that it can analyze fuel segment refabricated from base irradiated fuel rods in commercial reactors. This feature makes it possible to analyze database obtained from international projects such as the MALDEN and RISO, many of which were collected from refabricated fuel segments. The capacity of the COSMOS has been tested with some number of experimental results obtained from the HALDEN, RISO and FIGARO programs. Comparison with the measured data indicates that, although the COSMOS gives reasonable agreement, the current models need to be improved. This work is being performed using database available from the OECD/NEA.
