  • In general, Reinforced Slopes by Shotcrete are difficult to inspect because of stiff Slope and highly Working Area. So the Inspection Techniques are needed by the Non-contact and Non-destructive. On this Study, Appling the safety method to finding the weak zones(cavity area, dampness area, etc.) by using the Infrared Thermal Technique That is detecting the Detail Thermal Difference on the Surface of Reinforced Slopes by Shotcrete.

스팀 트랩 바이메탈 밸브의 열 구조해석 (Thermal Structural Analysis of Steam Trap Bimetal Valve)

  • In this study, structural thermal analyses for steam trap valve considering contact boundary condition have been conducted for high temperature and pressure conditions using nonlinear finite element method. Full steam trap model also including regulator and housing structures is considered in order to accurately simulate the complex valve mechanism and investigate thermal stress levels, and structural behaviors of core structural parts. It is typically shown that the present computational approach can give very useful results for design engineers so that the operating performance and structural safety of the steam trap valve can be verified in the design process.

열철리에 따른 Epoxy 복합재료의 표면 소수성증가에 관한 해석 (Analyses on the Increment of Surface Hydrophobicity of Epoxy Composites by Thermal Treatment)

  • In order to analyze the degradation process of epoxy/glass fiber for outdoor condition, FRP laminate was exposed to high temperature. Then, the degradation process was evaluated by comparing contact angle, surface potential, surface resistivity, and XPS. The experimental results showed that the amount of weight loss, contact angle, surface potential and surface resistivity increased up to 200 $^{\circ}C$ as a function of temperature. These phenomena show the existence of hydrophobic surface. With the change to the hydrophobic surface and the electrical potential and resistivity on FRP surface increased. In XPS to analyze surface chemical structures, the increased hydrophobicity in thermal increase of unsaturated double bond in carbon chains. Aslo, thermal treatment caused the discoloration on the point of treated surface. These phenomena were attributed to the generations of ether group.

Analysis of thermal energy efficiency for hollow fiber membranes in direct contact membrane distillation

  • Although membrane distillation (MD) has great promise for desalination of saline water sources, it is crucial to improve its thermal efficiency to reduce the operating cost. Accordingly, this study intended to examine the thermal energy efficiency of MD modules in a pilot scale system. Two different modules of hollow fiber membranes were compared in direct contact MD mode. One of them was made of polypropylene with the effective membrane area of $2.6m^2$ and the other was made of polyvinylidene fluoride with the effective membrane area of $7.6m^2$. The influence of operation parameters, including the temperatures of feed and distillate, feed flow rate, and distillate flow rate on the flux, recovery, and performance ratio (PR), was investigated. Results showed that the two MD membranes showed different flux and PR values even under similar conditions. Moreover, both flow rate and temperature difference between feed and distillate significantly affect the PR values. These results suggest that the operating conditions for MD should be determined by considering the module properties.

  • The thermo-mechanical interaction between brake block and wheel tread during braking has been found to cause thermal crack on the wheel tread. Due to thermal expansion of the rim material, the thermal cracks will protrude from the wheel tread and be more exposed to wear during the wheel/block contact than the rest of the tread surface. The wheel rim is in residual compression stress when is new. After service running, the region in the tread has reversed to tension. This condition can lead to the formation and growth of thermal cracks in the rim which can ultimately lead to premature failure of wheel. In the present paper, the thermal cracks of railway wheel, one of severe damages on the wheel tread, were evaluated to understand the safety of railway wheel in running condition. The residual stresses for damaged wheel which are applied to tread brake are investigated. Mainly X-ray diffusion method is used. Under the condition of concurrent loading of continuous rolling contact with rails and cyclic frictional heat from brake blocks, the reduction of residual stress is found to correlate well with the thermal crack initiation.

  • Contact resistance and contact leakage current of the Al/TiSiS12T/Si system are investigated for NS0+T and PS0+T junctions. SALICIDE (Self Aligned Silicide) process was used to make the Al/TiSiS12T/Si system. Titanium disilicide is one of the most common silicides because of its thermal stability, ability to form selective formation and low resistivity. In this paper, RTA temperature effect and Junction implant dose effect were evaluated to characterize contact resistance and contact leakage current. The TiSiS12T contact resistance to NS0+T silicon is lower than that to PS0+T silicon, and TiSiS12T of contact leakage current to NS0+T silicon is lower than that to PS0+T silicon. Contact resistance and contact leakage current of the Al/TiSiS12T/Si system by this method were possible for VLSI application.

  • Wide band gap semiconductors, such as III-nitrides (GaN, AlN, InN, and their alloys), SiC, and diamond are expected to play an important role in the next-generation electronic devices. Specifically, GaN-based high electron mobility transistors (HEMTs) have been targeted for high power, high frequency, and high temperature operation electronic devices for mobile communication systems, radars, and power electronics because of their high critical breakdown fields, high saturation velocities, and high thermal conductivities. For the stable operation, high power, high frequency and high breakdown voltage and high current density, the fabrication methods have to be optimized with considerable attention. In this study, low ohmic contact resistance and smooth surface morphology to AlGaN/GaN on 2 inch c-plane sapphire substrate has been obtained with stepwise annealing at three different temperatures. The metallization was performed under deposition of a composite metal layer of Ti/Al/Ni/Au with thickness. After multi-layer metal stacking, rapid thermal annealing (RTA) process was applied with stepwise annealing temperature program profile. As results, we obtained a minimum specific contact resistance of $1.6{\times}10^{-7}{\Omega}cm2$.

후면 passivation 박막으로 Rapid Thermal Oxide를 적용한 Local Back Contact Cell 제작에 관한 연구

  • 최근 결정질 실리콘 태양전지 분야에서는 태양전지의 Voc와 Isc의 증가를 통한 효율 향상을 목적으로 후면 passivation 박막에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. Local-Back Contact Cell은 최적화된 후면 passivation 박막을 이용한 태양전지 제조방법이다. 본 연구에서는 고효율의 LBC 태양전지 개발을 위해 Rapid Thermal Oxide(RTO)를 이용한 후면 passivation 박막에 screen printing을 이용한 point contact 구조의 LBC 태양전지를 제작하고 그 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 RTO 박막은 O2와 N2, 2L/min의 조건에서 $850^{\circ}C$에서 3분 동안 열처리하여 성장시켰다. 이렇게 성장된 박막은 3nm의 두께로 형성되어 passivation 효과를 나타내었으며, carrier lifetime 측정 결과 37.8us의 값을 나타냈다. 전면 ARC형성을 위해 RTO 박막 위에 PECVD를 이용하여 SiNx passivation 처리를 하였고, 그 결과 carrier lifetime은 49.1us까지 향상하였다. 후면의 전극 형성을 위해 screen printing 방법으로 Al point contact을 형성하여 local 한 BSF를 형성 시켰으며, 이후 후면 전극 연결을 위한 방법으로 300nm의 두께로 full Al evaporation 공정을 진행 하였다. 결과적으로 RTO 후면 passivation 박막에 Al point contact 형성을 통해 제작된 태양전지는, Suns-Voc 579mV, FF 82.3%, 16.7%의 효율을 달성하였다.

Cu2Te 배면 전극을 이용한 p-type CdTe 태양전지의 ohmic contact 형성 및 CdTe 태양전지의 광전압 특성 (Formation of Ohmic Contact in P-Type CdTe Using Cu2 Te Electrode and Its Effect on the Photovoltaic Properties of CdTe Solar Cells)

  • In this work, CdTe films were deposited on CdS/ITO/glass substrate by a close spaced sublimation (CSS) method. A $Cu_2$Te layer was deposited on the CdTe film by evaporating $Cu_2$Te powder. Then the samples were annealed for p+ ohmic contact. TEM and XRD analysis showed that $CdTe/Cu_2$Te interface exhibited different forms with various annealing temperature. A good p+ ohmic contact was achieved when the annealing temperature was between $180^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. Best cell efficiency of 12.34% was obtained when post annealing temperature was $200^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. Thermal stress test of the CdS/CdTe cells with carbon back contact showed that the $Cu_2$Te contact was stable at $50^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$ and was slowly degraded at $100^{\circ}C$ in $N_2$. In comparison to the conventional carbon contact, the $Cu_2$Te contact showed a better thermal stability.

열차 집전장치와 전차선 사이의 동적 접촉력 측정방법 개발 (Development of a Measuring Method for Dynamic Contact Forces between a Pantograph and a Contact Wire)

  • A new method of dynamic contact force measurement between a pantograph and a contact wire is proposed in this paper The method does not require design modification of an original pantograph in order to install sensors such as load cells. Contact forces can be expressed as the sum of vertical shear forces at the support points and inertial forces. Using specially-designed strain gage rosettes. vertical shear forces at the supported points can be measured without noise mixing and thermal effects. In order to obtain contact forces from shear forces, 3 inertial force compansation methods are proposed and compared in this paper. By validation process, the new proposed measurement method is verified to be applicable to the on-line current collection test.
