Objectives: The purpose of this study was to review the research trends in the treatment of hatha-style yoga on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Methods: We searched articles in Pubmed and the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) January 2010-December 2019, for studies to treat PTSD using hatha-style yoga. Selected studies were evaluated by the CLEAR-NPT (A Checklist to Evaluate a Report of a Non-pharmacological Trial). Results: Seven randomized controlled clinical trials were selected. PSS-I (PTSD Symptom Scale-Interview) was the most frequently used as diagnostic criteria. The PCL (PTSD Checklist) was also the most commonly used outcome measurement. Of the seven articles, most studies reported that hatha-style yoga was effective to reduce symptoms of PTSD. Conclusions: Hatha-style yoga practice intervention can be used to relieve symptoms of PTSD. More studies should be conducted to make hatha-style yoga as protocol (complementary therapy) for PTSD patients.

Objective: To compare dosimetric parameters of 3 dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3 DCRT) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) in terms of target coverage and doses to organs at risk (OAR) in the management of rectal carcinoma. Methods: In this prospective study, conducted between August 2014 and March 2016, all patients underwent CT simulation along with a bladder protocol and target contouring according to the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) guidelines. Two plans were made for each patient (3 DCRT and IMRT) for comparison of target coverage and OAR. Result: A total of 43 patients were recruited into this study. While there were no significant differences in mean Planning Target Volume (PTV) D95% and mean PTV D98% between 3 DCRT and IMRT, mean PTV D2% and mean PTV D50% were significantly higher in 3 DCRT plans. Compared to IMRT, 3 DCRT resulted in significantly higher volumes of hot spots, lower volumes of cold spots, and higher doses to the entire OAR. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that IMRT achieves superior normal tissue avoidance (bladder and bowel) compared to 3 DCRT, with comparable target dose coverage.
Applications of bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells in gene therapy have been hampered by the low efficiency of gene transfer to these cells. In current transduction protocols, retrovirus particles with foreign genes make only limited contact with their target cells by passive diffusion and have short life spans, thereby limiting the chances of viral infection. We theorized that mechanically agitating the virus-containing cell suspensions would increase the movement of viruses and target cells, resulting in increase of contact between them. Application of our mechanical agitation for transduction process has increased the absorption of retrovirus particles more than five times compared to the previous static method without changing cell growth rate and viability. The addition of a mechanical agitation step increased transduction efficiency to 42%, higher than that of any other previously-known static transduction protocol.
Modified rush ASIT protocol has been performed to identify the ideal schedule that allows the dose considered effective to be reached in the shortest possible time with the fewest adverse effects. Ten atopic dogs of this study includes fulfillment of Favrot's criteria. Offending allergens were identified by the use of IDST. During the induction period, the dogs were received a total of 15 injections. Ten injections were administrated every 30 minutes in a day with gradually increasing amounts and concentrations of allergens, and the last 5 injections were administered every 3 days. Disease severity was quantified by using the canine atopic dermatitis extent and severity index (CADESI). During induction period, reduction rate from baseline scores varied between 1% and 67% and the improvement of ${\geq}50%$ was recorded after induction period of therapy for CADESI-03 score in 6 of the 10 dogs. This study of ten dogs with atopic dermatitis provide evidence for the efficacy and safety of modified rush ASIT for clinical improvement.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was secondary analysis to explore about risk factors with breast cancer on a basis of primary literature. Methods: This study was searched articles by using CINAHL, MEDLINE, Riss4u, Internet website regarding breast cancer. This study searched for the journal published in Korea and foreign countries from 2000 to 2008, about risk factors of breast cancer. This study was reviewed 42 articles (5 experimental study, 35 survey, 1 qualitative study, 1 report) suitable for the research objectives. Results: Magnitude of risk breast cancer (++) was age, geographic region, family history, mutations in BRCA1, BRCA2 genes and in other penetrance genes, radiation, history of benign breast disease, late age of menopause, early age of menarch, nulliparity and older age at first birth, high mammographic breast density, high insulin-like growth factor 1 level. Magnitude of risk factor (+) was hormone replacement therapy, oral contraceptives use, obesity, tall stature, alcohol consumption, high prolactin level, high saturated fat and well-done meat intake, polymorphisms in low penetrance gene, high socioeconomic status. Conclusion: A breast cancer screening protocol according to magnitude of risk factors is needed for disease prevention. The nurses need to educate and counsel women with risk factors of breast cancer.

Gunshot wounds to the face are often dramatic at the time of presentation. Although care must be individualized, protocol approach helps the clinician rapidly evaluate patient and plan treatment. Early X-ray films help to determine the precise trajectory. Rapid neurologic assessment and early CT scanning based on physical examination ot trajectory will allow for identification of even occult injuries early. Lead poisoning arising from bullet lead in the synovial cavity of the hip, synovial cavity of the chest and pleural space have been reported. A combination of surgical debridement and chelation therapy with oral succimer produce a satisfactory outcome. We have managed a patient with Lt facial gunshot wound and Lt mandible angle fracture by open reduction of angle fracture and surgical removal of remnant bullet and medially advanced cheek skin flap. We have obtained good result and report this case with review of literatures.
Objectives : Many cancer patients use therapies promoted as literal alternative and complementary medicine to conventional medical care. So the health provider has to guide it by appropriate clinical guideline. The purpose is to indicate the international research tool of korean medical oncology for related investigators and help to make the clinical guideline for korean oncology. Method : We reviewed complementary and alternative therapies for cancer and cancer-related symptoms by searching MEDLINE, and using the name and synonyms of the therapy. Publications on complementary medicine were identified by searching the Cochrane Library. Results and Conclusion : Most complementary and alternative medicine used by cancer patients have demonstrable, important benefits, including decreased symptoms and better quality of life. We have to standardize the scientific research protocol for korean oncology and build evidence based medicine in the future.
CD4+ T-cell count determines the effectiveness for antiretroviral therapy (ART) in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Although ART slows the progression of HIV to AIDS, rapid counting of CD4+ T lymphocytes with a drop of patient's blood sample is urgently needed to ensure timely ART treatment in rural areas. Recently point-of-care CD4 testing devices have been developed by using non-flow based imaging cytometer incorporated with a sample cartridge where CD4+ T cells are reacted with fluorescently tagged specific antibodies. Here we conducted an experimental study using a conventional fluorescence microscope-based imaging system to quantitate the interaction of CD4 antibodies with CD4+ T cells at different reaction conditions. We demonstrated that a fast and affordable point-of-care CD4 test is feasible with a far less amount of antibodies and a shorter incubation time compared with a conventional sample preparation protocol for flow cytometry. We also proposed a general method to evaluate and compare the detection limit across different CD4 counting platforms by using fluorescently labelled microbeads for intensity calibration.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of fumigation treatment, provide a clinical basis for fumigation therapy, and develop treatment protocols through consideration of treatment methods and herbal medicines. Methods: We searched for randomized controlled clinical trials using fumigation treatment on mycotic vaginitis in 8 electronic databases such as EMBASE, Pubmed, and CNKI. The results of the studies were analyzed and the risk of bias was assessed by using Cochrane risk of bias tool. A meta-analysis was performed to reveal the effectiveness of fumigation compared to control treatments. Results: We finally selected 5 studies among 54 articles according to inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria. In all selected studies, herbal fumigation was more effective than any control treatment and all the studies were statistically significant. Conclusions: The study provides a basis for applying fumigation treatment to patients with mycotic vaginitis and helps developing a treatment protocol of caring patients of mycotic vaginitis. But the limitation of this study is that the number of studies included is small and quantitative synthesis of all results has not been achieved.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the activation of the contralateral upper and lower extremities and trunk muscle during ipsilateral upper extremity diagonal isokinetic exercise. Methods: Twenty-one healthy male subjects with no history of shoulder injury undertook ipsilateral diagonal isokinetic exercise at 60, 120, and $180^{\circ}/sec$, utilizing a standard Biodex protocol. Muscle activation amplitudes were measured in the upper trapezius, pectoralis major, biceps brachii, rectus abdominis, external oblique, rectus femoris, adductor longus, and biceps femoris muscles using electromyography. A one-way analysis of variance and paired t-tests were conducted, and the data were analyzed using SPSS, version 21.0. Results: The results revealed no statistically significant interaction between motion and angular velocity and no statistically significant contralateral muscle activation according to angular velocity (p>0.05). However, they revealed statistically significant contralateral muscle activation according to motion (p<0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that the movements involved in contralateral upper extremity diagonal isokinetic exercise can enhance muscle strength in patients affected by stroke, fracture, burns, or arthritis.
