대학생의 장기 목표 추구 과정에서 의미 부여와 주관적 안녕감과의 관계: 삶의 의미의 매개효과 (The Relation between Meaning Making about Process of Achieving Long Term Goals and Subjective Well-being in College Students: Mediating Effects of Meaning in Life)

  • 본 연구는 장기 목표 추구 과정에서 의미 부여가 주관적 안녕감에 미치는 영향에서 삶의 의미의 매개 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 부산 소재 대학생 180명을 대상으로 각자의 장기 목표가 무엇인지 개방형 질문에 대한 답변을 하도록 하고, 목표를 추구하는 과정에서의 의미부여와 삶의 의미 및 주관적 안녕감에 대해 설문조사를 실시하였다. 자료분석은 상관 분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 이용한 매개효과 검증 및 sobel test를 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 상관 분석 결과 의미 부여, 삶의 의미 및 행복은 서로 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 회귀분석 및 Sobel test 결과, 장기 목표 추구 과정의 의미 부여가 행복에 미치는 영향에서 삶의 의미는 완전 매개 효과를 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 학생이 장기 목표를 추구하는 과정에서 의미 부여를 하는 것이 전반적인 삶의 의미를 증진시키는 것 뿐 아니라 대학생의 주관적 안녕감을 높이는 데 도움이 됨을 시사한다. 또한 삶의 의미가 대학생의 주관적 안녕감에 매우 중요한 요인임을 보여준다. 마지막으로 후속 연구를 위한 제한점이 논의되었다.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a hospice and palliative care education program including meaning in life on attitudes to end-of-life care and meaning in life for nursing students. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental and non- synchronized with a non-equivalent control group design. The experimental group (n=28) participated in a hospice and palliative care education program including meaning in life. The control group (n=28) participated only in a hospice and palliative care education program. The 30-hour course examined hospice and palliative nursing care and logotherapy. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of general characteristics, attitudes to end-of-life care, and meaning in life. Collected data were analyzed for frequency, percentage, ${\chi}^2$-test, and t-test using SPSS 19.0 WIN Program. Results: Scores for the attitude towards end-of-life care in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. The meaning in life scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the hospice and palliative care education program, including meaning in life, was effective in enhancing the attitude to end-of-life care and meaning in life among nursing students.

항공서비스학과 비교과 참여 학생의 대학 생활 의미에 관한 현상학적 연구 (A Phenomenological Study on the Meaning of College Life of Extracurricular Activities Engagement of Students Majoring in Aviation Service)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 비교과프로그램을 참여하면서 겪은 실제 경험에 대한 이해를 토대로 대학 생활 경험의 본질적 의미를 고찰하는 것이다. 개인이 겪은 본질적 경험에 대해 이해하고 의미를 규명하기 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법에 따라 연구를 설계하였다. 본 연구는 항공서비스학과에서 운영하는 비교과프로그램에 참여한 경험이 있는 참여자 6명을 대상으로 반구조화된 심층 인터뷰 기법을 적용하였다. 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과 비교과 참여의 경험적 특성과 비교과 참여의 의미는 각각 4가지 주제로 도출되었다. 대학생활의 의미는 '대학 생활 만족도 향상', '다양한 대학생활', '대학생활의 추억', '대학생활에 대한 동기부여'의 의미를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과 다양한 비교과프로그램 참여 경험은 한 개인이 성장해 가는 전이과정으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 비교과 활동이 대학생활에 새로운 의미를 부여하였다는 것을 참여자의 실제 경험을 바탕으로 규명했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다.

호스피스 간호에서 의미요법 적용을 위한 생의 의미 고찰 (Inquisition of Meaning in Life for Logotherapy Application in Hospice Nursing)

  • The purpose of this study is to consider of meaning in life based on Frankl's theory and to propose of hospice nursing according to conceptual framework of meaning in life. The conceptual framework of meaning in life is composed of 4 phases. According to the first phase, acceptance & awareness of self and life, hospice nurse should helps dying patient to accept limitedness of human existence and death. and according to the second phase, actualization of creative value, hospice nurse can helps dying patient to discover meaning in life through doing a deed for last time before his death. According to the third phase, actualization of experiential value, hospice nurse can helps them to discovery of meaning by experiencing of love through meetings with other people, nature, and god. According to the forth phase, actualization of attitudinal value, hospice nurse can helps them to discovery of meaning by realizing meaning in suffering and death through exercising of the inner freedom to choose bravery and acceptance in the face of death and misfortune. As mentioned above, the Frankl's theory accords with the core of hospice nursing that helps people to accomplish human essence in suffering and death. therefore we accepted Frankl's point of view, asserted that one of the most important roles of a hospice nurse as a supporter and sustainer for dying patients is to help patients to find meaning in life even in the course of death. To achieve the goal, hospice nurses should try to have a firm faith through philosophical introspection about life, death, human existence and meaning in life what the most important goal of life is to discover meaning in life and human have the duty and responsibility of recognizing and pursuing meaning up to the last moment of life.

의미증진 프로그램이 우리나라 대학생의 삶의 의미에 미치는 효과: 체계적 문헌고찰 (Effects of Meaning Enhancement Program on Meaning of Life for Korean College Students: A Systematic Review)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라에서 연구된 대학생 대상 의미증진 프로그램의 효과에 관한 문헌을 융합적으로 살펴보고 대학생 대상의 의미증진 프로그램의 내용적 형식적 특성과 의미증진 효과를 분석하기 위하여 실시되었다. 2021년 5월까지 국내에서 출판된 연구논문과 학위논문 중 대학생의 의미증진을 목적으로 한 연구를 대상으로 문헌을 수집하였다. 2021년 6월 10일부터 20일까지 6개의 데이터베이스를 사용하여 '의미요법' OR '로고테라피' OR '의미치료' OR '삶의 의미' OR '의미'로 검색을 실시하였다. 최종 선정된 논문은 7편을 두 명의 독립된 연구자가 표준화된 도구를 사용하여 비뚤림 위험과 연구의 질평가를 수행하였다. 7편의 의미증진 프로그램은 모두 대학생의 삶의 의미 발견에 효과가 있었으며, 단일중재와 병합중재 모두 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 대학생 대상 의미증진 프로그램의 효과크기 분석을 위해서는 향후 무작위 대조군 실험연구가 시행될 필요가 있다.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 감사증진 프로그램이 여대생의 삶의 의미와 주관적 안녕감에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 검증하고자 하였다. 본 연구결과 감사증진프로그램은 여대생의 삶의 의미 하위 영역 가운데 의미발견, 의미추구에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 또한 감사증진 프로그램이 여대생의 주관적 안녕감 하위 영역 가운데 삶의 만족도, 정적 정서 영역 가운데 사랑, 기쁨, 부정적 정서 영역에서는 창피함, 슬픔에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이와 같은 연구결과는 감사증진 프로그램이 여대생의 삶의 의미와 주관적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것을 증명한 것이다. 앞으로 여대생의 삶의 의미와 주관적 안녕감의 향상을 위해 더욱더 체계적인 감사증진 프로그램에 대한 연구가 필요하며 실제로 활용도를 높여 가야 할 것이다.

간호사가 지각하는 죽음에 대한 인식과 삶의 의미 (Nurses' Awareness of Death and Meaning of Life)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate nurses' awareness of death and the meaning of life and identify factors influencing the meaning of life. Methods: Participants were 198 women nurses who had experienced the death of patients. They answered a self-administered questionnaire including demographics, awareness of death scale and meaning in life II scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, and multiple regression (enter method). Results: The average score for awareness of death was $127.3{\pm}10.14$. This score is moderate not biased toward positive or negative. The average score for meaning of life was $130.3{\pm}9.42$ with 51% for loss steps, 45.5% for pursuit steps and 3.5% for discovery steps to the meaning of life. Factors affecting the meaning of life were religion, Buddhism (${\beta}=6.25$, p=.015) or Atheist (${\beta}=5.91$, p=.017), educational level, Master's or higher (${\beta}=16.22$, p=.003), work department, special department (${\beta}=3.49$, p=.017). Conclusions: Results of the study indicate a need to provide nursing programs that will promote nurses' spiritual and inner maturity.

일부지역 성인의 생의 의미 (Meaning in Life of a Resident Community of Normal Adults)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to measure meaning in life for a normal adult and to offer basic data for developing nursing strategies for improving the meaning in life of adults. Method: There were 351 subjects, from 20 to 60 years old, staying in Busan and KyungNam Province. The data was collected from August to October 2000. The instrument was designed by researchers. The data were analyzed with frequency, mean(${\pm}SD$), t test & ANOVA. Result: 1. The mean MIL for adult was 187.7(${\pm}18.1$). 2. The mean MIL of basic premise phase for discovery of meaning was 30.5, method phase for discovery of meaning was 111.1, and result phase for discovery of meaning was 46.4. 3. The levels of MIL, 56.4% of the subjects were in pursuit of meaning in life, 23.3% felt a loss of meaning in life. 4. There were significant differences in MIL according to the level of education(P=0.00), marital status(P=0.01) and monthly income (P=0.00). Conclusion: On the viewpoint of the above results, 23.3% of the subjects were in a level of existential vaccum which required keens Logotherapy. Therefore, it shows that developing nursing-logotherapy to improve the meaning in life for adults is demanded.

여대생 음주자를 위한 생의 의미찾기 프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effect of a Logotherapeutic Program for Problem Drinking in Female College Students)

  • Purpose: Alcohol use in South Korean women, particularly college students, is increasing. Women are more vulnerable than men to alcohol use, which puts them at greater risk of physical and psychosocial problems. Some studies have reported that on failing to find meaning in life, many South Korean college students experience depression, subsequently using alcohol as a coping mechanism. This study aimed to develop a logotherapeutic program and identify its effects on meaning in life, depression, and problem drinking among female college students. Methods: This study was a quasi-experimental trial. The participants were female college students who scored over 8 in the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Twenty-four students were assigned to the experimental group and twenty-three to the control group. Three scales were used in this study: the Purpose in Life test, Beck Depression Inventory, and AUDIT. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test in SPSS/WIN 12.0. Results: After the conclusion of the logotherapeutic program, the level of meaning in life and depression were more greatly improved in the experimental group than the control group. Conclusion: The logotherapeutic program is an effective method to help female college students find meaning in life and reduce depression in this population.

죽음교육이 대학생의 죽음에 대한 태도와 생의 의미에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Death Education Program on Attitude to Death and Meaning in Life among University Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a death education program on attitude to death and meaning in life for university students. Methods: The design of this study was quasi-experimental and non-synchronized with a non-equivalent control group. The study subjects were 28 students at a college in Busan. The experimental group (n=14) participated in a death education program. While the control group (n=14) didn't. The program consisted of lectures and discussions for 6 hours a day over 5 days. The 30-hr course examined the meaning of death, modern society and death, hospice movements and desirable life and death. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of general characteristics, attitude to death and meaning in life. Collected data were analyzed as frequency, percentage, $x^2$-test, t-test using SPSS 11.0 WIN Program. Results: The attitude to death scores in the experimental group were significantly lower than in the control group (p=.000). The meaning in life scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group (p=.039). Conclusions: These findings showed that the death education program was effective to enhance the attitude to death and meaning in life among in college students. Therefore, a continuing death education program can be applied as an effective nursing intervention for other subjects.
