This study was performed to investigate the kinematic factors on the head hitting motion based on weight change of bamboo swords in kumdo. The kinematic factors, needed time per phase, COB displacement and velocity, angle(wrist, elbow, shoulder joint, hip joint, knee joint), were analyzed by the 3-D motion analysis method against 6 male middle school athletes. The results were as follows. 1. The needed time of head hitting motion based on weight change of bamboo swords was shorter when weight was heavier. 2. The COB displacement of left/right was bigger when weight was heavier. the displacement of right foot was higher at backswing phase and impact phase when weight was heavier and at impact time when weight was lighter. 3. The COB velocity was faster at impact time when weight was heavier, the velocity of sword tip was fastest for each event with bamboo sword weight of 440 g. 4. The angle of left elbow was smaller at top of backswing and impact when weight was heavier, the angle of left shoulder was bigger when weight was heavier, the right knee angle was biger at start when weight was heavier, at impact when weight was lighter.

Internationally, Korean people and society are known to be workaholic, however, recently some changes have come with the inauguration of the 5 working-days system as well as the rising of economic power and high level of education. Many people come to enjoy leisure time with various activities. Especially, arts become the subject of concern as a kind of leisure life, and also gallery become a important space. However, the renovation of the gallery space is required Inevitably because many galleries have been located in too formal or fixed building space, and the management of it has not been executed thoroughly. This study aims at the suggestion of the specialized and differentiated renovation plan for gallery as cultural space offering the right notion and information about the arts as well as rest to citizens, also as exhibit space showing the object efficiently.

The purpose of this study is to assess the play and leisure status of children in Korea. The subjects of the study were 564 children in elementary, middle, and high school classes in four districts of Seoul and one rural district in Gyeonggi Province. We surveyed and analyzed the objects, time, place and cost of both play and leisure and investigated the differences according to age, region and sex. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, the children's play and leisure subjects were more likely to be friends than family members, and the proportion of fathers among the parents decreased with increasing age. Second, the children spent most of their play and leisure time on media related activities. Third, unlike in the past, the children's places of play and leisure were very diverse and included many adult or commercial places, such as cafes and karaoke studios. Fourth, there were no differences in the cost of play and leisure, depending on the age or sex of the children, but there were regional differences.

The study was to improve the right to the enjoyment of culture of persons with visual impairment by increasing the accessibility to art exhibitions and exploring assistive measures through needs assessment survey of persons with visual impairment on arts exhibition. We used total 83 responses collected through an online survey. The result are as follows. First, watching movies at a teather was the most frequent leisure activity among persons with visual impairment, while respondents reported attending art exhibitions as the least frequent activity. Yet, 71.1% included attending art exhibitions as one of their top 5 culture and leisure activities. Most of the respondents reported the purpose of attending art exhibitions as fun. However, a primarily visual atmosphere prevented them from visiting the exhibition. Second, persons with visual impairment preferred approaching the art to have a closer look. More than about 50% of the respondents used their residual vision. Most of the respondents reported to use more than two senses when appreciating the exhibits. Moreover, respondents reported that devices/services for multi-sensory experiences would be helpful to appreciate the art. The findings imply that the consideration of the characteristics and needs of persons with visual impairment is required for establishing the environment of art exhibitions. This could further contribute to the improvement of the right to the enjoyment of leisure and culture of persons with visual impairment and lead to the realization of social integration.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of lower limb muscle activity on postural stability and ground type in elderly women subjects. Method : Forty two subjects participated in the experiment (high group - age: $74.29{\pm}4.13yr$, height: $152.44{\pm}5.54cm$, weight: $57.43{\pm}6.16kg$, BMI: $24.77{\pm}2.99$, low group - age: $77.67{\pm}5.16yr$, height: $151.40{\pm}3.93cm$, weight: $60.92{\pm}6.40kg$, BMI: $26.59{\pm}2.57$). Wireless EMG with eight channels was used. Ground types were classified as flat and cushion. Results : In the double-support phase, left and right rectus femoris, left biceps femoris, left and right tibialis anterior, and left gastrocnemius did not show a significant difference in postural stability according to ground type. However right biceps femoris and gastrocnemius showed higher muscle activity in the elderly women group with lower postural stability. In the single-support phase, left and right rectus femoris, right biceps femoris, and left and right tibialis anterior did not show a significant difference in postural stability according to ground type. In addition, left biceps femoris had higher muscle activity in the elderly women group with lower postural stability. Left gastrocnemius had higher muscle activity in the elderly women group with higher postural stability and right gastrocnemius had higher muscle activity in the elderly women group on cushion ground. Conclusion : In a dynamic postural stability and cushion ground, biceps femoris and gastrocnemius muscle activity were high. As a result, biceps femoris and gastrocnemius muscle strengthening exercise on cushion ground could be beneficial in the prevention of falling.
This study intended to develop a motorcycle safe vest that can be prepared against accidents by mounting a smart module (with built-in sensor) on the safe vest in order to emphasize safety among functional aspects of the motorcycle clothing. The research method investigated professional books, prior research, and Internet data to examine the characteristics of motorcycle wear and the theoretical examination of smart wear, and analyzed the functional characteristics of the design by reviewing smart jacket and vest design cases for motorcycles currently on the market. As a results of study an interface device sensor, which contains a sensor with IMU(Intertial Measurement Unit) and CPU(Central Processing Unit), was inserted into a motorcycle top in order to draw attention to the safety of motorcycle riders. The IMU sensor attached to the vest detected the tilting motion of the rider to either left or right side to obtain data on left or right direction, sudden stop, and so forth and displayed left or right turn signal and sudden stop sign on the backplate (back) through the LED module. As for charging the device to operate LEDs, a generator, which is designed to convert the heat energy in the exhaust into electric energy, was used to efficiently self-produce the power required to operate LEDs of the top while riding.
This study aims to quantitatively compare and analyze kinetic variables in the motion of male and female professional golfers to suggest basic scientific materials for golf iron swing. Five male and five female professional golfers participated in this experiment. Ground reaction force and foot pressure were measured during performing 10 swings for each participants using an iron club. The result of the ground reaction force indicates that the force occurs at the left foot toward right(-) direction in the mid-downswing(E3) and impact(E4) events in X-axis, while it occurs at the right foot toward anterior(-) direction in Y-axis for both male and female, showing a big difference between them. Also, in Z-axis, large force occurs at the left foot in most events. The analyzed result on foot pressure indicates that men have the highest pressure and area at the left foot, and women have the highest ones at the right foot in the mid-downswing(E3) and impact(E4) events in the max foot pressure, ground contact area and average pressure. It is considered that there is difference of central movement methods between men and women. Thus, different education and training on golf swing should be necessary by gender due to their different patterns of golf iron swing.
The purpose of this work is to biomechanically study the effect of the one leg standing pose in yoga.. The work have been done through the evaluation for the left and right symmetry ability of one leg standing pose in the before and after yoga training for the 14 female yoga subject group (height: $164.3{\pm}4.4cm$, mass: $53.4{\pm}6.4kg$, year: $20.0{\pm}0.49yrs$) participated in this experiment. The motions of one leg standing pose were captured with Vicon system and the parameters were calculated with Visual-3D and Ground reaction force system. The results were as followed; - Front and backward COPsd did not show the significant difference, compared the before training with the after. - Left and right COPsd showed the significant difference (p<0.05), compared the before training with the after. - COP distance showed the significant difference (p<0.01), compared the before training with the after. - The asymmetry index of front and backward COPsd did not show the significant difference, compared the before training with the after. - The asymmetry index of left and right COPsd did not show the significant difference, compared the before training with the after. - The asymmetry index of COP distance showed the significant difference (p<0.01), compared the before training with the after. Therefore, the yoga training demonstrated the stable improvement in the one leg standing pose of inferior feet and the positive effect to the left and right symmetry ability.
Objective : The purposes of this study was to perform a kinematical analysis on age and walkway types in elderly women subjects. Method : Forty subjects participated in the experiment (A1 group - age: $67.30{\pm}1.49yrs$, height: $153.81{\pm}4.47cm$, weight: $61.80{\pm}5.24kg$, A2 group - age: $71.70{\pm}1.10yrs$, height: $152.01{\pm}2.84cm$, weight: $59.69{\pm}7.34kg$, A3 group - age: $76.80{\pm}0.98yrs$, height: $150.16{\pm}6.08cm$, weight: $57.27{\pm}6.42kg$, A4 group - age: $81.80{\pm}0.60yrs$, height: $152.18{\pm}4.77cm$, weight: $55.80{\pm}7.78kg$). This study aims to examine seven factors and forty-two selection attributes of Seoul as an Exhibition and Convention Destination Site through the Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) from the Exhibition and Convention Planner. The result of this study shows these three conclusions. First, according to the result of the Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) of the forty-two selection attributes of an Exhibition and Convention Destination Site, thirteen attributes were placed on the right top area(Keep Up the Good Work), four attributes were placed on the right bottom area(Possible Overkill), five attributes were located on the left top area(Concentrate Here), and the other twenty attributes were located on the left bottom area(Low Priority). Second, the Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) of seven factors in an Exhibition and Convention Destination Site reveals that the factors in the right top area(Keep Up the Good Work) of high importance and high performance were "Exhibition and Convention Center Facilities", "Exhibition and Convention Fee", and "Exhibition and Convention Center Accommodation Capacity". And the one factor located on the left top area(Concentrate Here) of high importance and low performance was "Exhibition and Convention Destination Regional Space", while the other factors of "Exhibition and Convention Center Management", "Exhibition and Convention Destination Tourism Space" and "Exhibition and Convention Destination Leisure Activity Space" were placed on the left bottom area(Low Priority) of low importance and low performance. Third, the difference of the mean value of the Importance and Performance on Seoul as an Exhibition and Convention Destination Site has been revealed that the performance of the attributes was lower than the importance of the attributes because forty attributes have described all plus(+) except two attributes.
