In this work, an inverse dynamic control method is developed to enhance tracking performance of industrial robots, which effectively deal with the nonlinear dynamic interferential forces. In general, the DFF (Dynamic Feed-Forward) controller and the CTM (Computed-Torque Method) controller are used for dynamic control for industrial robots. We study on the practical issues for implementing these inverse dynamic controllers via simulations and experiments. We develop the dynamic models in two different ways. One is a model designed through Newton-Euler method for real time computation and the other is a model designed through SimMechanics for evaluating the developed controller via simulations. We evaluate the nominal performance and robustness of the controller via simulations and experiments using serial 4-DOF HyRoHILS (Hyundai Robot Hardware-In-the-Loop Simulation) system. The results show that the inverse dynamic controller is effective and practically useful for a real control structure.

To design a control law of an aircraft, an accurate aircraft dynamic model is required. To obtain an aerodynamic database (DB) to build a dynamic model, a large number of wind tunnel tests are typically required. However, when flight test data of target aircraft exist such as in the process of unmanned conversion of a manned aircraft, an aircraft dynamic model can be obtained through a parameter estimation method and a DB tuning procedure. This paper describes a nonlinear model construction process and a verification method for KC-100 OPV aircraft. Flight data compatibility analysis was performed to determine suitability of the estimation method application. Linear model estimation was performed using the maximum likelihood estimation method. Results of aerodynamic DB tuning process and verification applying the FFS standard to the nonlinear model constructed are presented.

In this paper a computational method for a homogenized peridynamics description of unidirectional fiber-reinforced composites is presented. For these materials, dynamic brittle fracture and damage are simulated with the proposed peridynamic model. Compared with observations from dynamic experiments by Coker et al.(2001), the peridynamic computational model can reproduce various characteristics of dynamic fracture and supersonic or intersonic crack growth in asymmetrically loaded unidirectional fiber-reinforced composite plates. Also we analyze the same model in the symmetric loading condition and figure out that the asymmetric loading leads to a much higher propagation speed. Consistent results have been reported in the experiments.
Finite element model updating is very effective procedure to determine the uncertainty parameters in structural model and minimize the differences between experimentally and numerically identified dynamic characteristics. This procedure can be practiced with manual and automatic model updating procedures. The manual model updating involves manual changes of geometry and analyses parameters by trial and error, guided by engineering judgement. Besides, the automated updating is performed by constructing a series of loops based on optimization procedures. This paper addresses the ambient vibration based finite element model updating of long span reinforced concrete highway bridges using manual model updating procedure. Birecik Highway Bridge located on the $81^{st}km$ of Şanliurfa-Gaziantep state highway over Firat River in Turkey is selected as a case study. The structural carrier system of the bridge consists of two main parts: Arch and Beam Compartments. In this part of the paper, the arch compartment is investigated. Three dimensional finite element model of the arch compartment of the bridge is constructed using SAP2000 software to determine the dynamic characteristics, numerically. Operational Modal Analysis method is used to extract dynamic characteristics using Enhanced Frequency Domain Decomposition method. Numerically and experimentally identified dynamic characteristics are compared with each other and finite element model of the arch compartment of the bridge is updated manually by changing some uncertain parameters such as section properties, damages, boundary conditions and material properties to reduce the difference between the results. It is demonstrated that the ambient vibration measurements are enough to identify the most significant modes of long span highway bridges. Maximum differences between the natural frequencies are reduced averagely from %49.1 to %0.6 by model updating. Also, a good harmony is found between mode shapes after finite element model updating.
PURPOSES : The dynamic modulus can be determined by applying the various theories from the Impact Resonance Testing(IRT) Method. The objective of this paper is to determine the best theory to produce the dynamic modulus that has the lowest error as the dynamic modulus data obtained from these theories(Complex Wave equation Resonance Method related to either the transmissibility loss or not, Dynamic Stiffness Resonance Method) compared to the results for dynamic modulus determined by using the Universal Testing Machine. The ultimate object is to develop the predictive model for the dynamic modulus of a Linear Visco-Elastic specimen by using the Complex Wave equation Resonance Method(CWRM) came up for an existing study(S. O. Oyadiji; 1985) and the Optimization. METHODS : At the destructive test which uses the Universal Testing Machine, the dynamic modulus results along with the frequency can be used for determining the sigmoidal master curve function related to the reduced frequency by applying Time-Temperature Superposition Principle. RESULTS : The constant to be solved from Eq. (11) is a value of 14.13. The reduced dynamic modulus obtained from the IRT considering the loss factor related to the impact transmissibility has RMSE of 367.7MPa, MPE of 3.7%. When the predictive dynamic modulus model was applied to determine the master curve, the predictive model has RMSE of 583.5MPa, MPE of 3.5% compared to the destructive test results for the dynamic modulus. CONCLUSIONS : Because we considered that the results obtained from the destructive test had the most highest source credibility in this study, the dynamic modulus data obtained respectively from DSRM, CWRM were compared to the results obtained from the destructive test by using th IRT. At the result, the reduced dynamic modulus derived from DSRM has the most lowest error.

The dynamic load effects, generated by moving trains, are transferred to the railway bridges through tracks. The dynamic load effects may vary due to the dynamic characteristics of the applied vehicle loads and the railway bridges including the track system. However, the track models have been neglected or simplified by spring elements in the most studies since it is quite complicated to consider the track systems in the dynamic analysis models of railway bridges. In this study track system on railway bridges are modeled using a three-dimensional discrete-support model that can simulate the load carrying behavior of tracks. A 40m simply supported prestressed concrete box-girder system adopted for high-speed railway bridges are modeled for simulation works. The train models are composed of 20 cars for KTX. The dynamic response of railway bridges are found to be affected depending on whether the track model is considered for not. The influencing rate depends on the traveling speed and different wheel-axle distance. The dynamic bridge response decreases remarkably by the track systems around the resonant frequency. Therefore, the resonance effect can be reduced by modifying the track properties in the railway bridge, especially for KTX trains.
The dynamic interactions between the reactor vessel and the control element drive mechanisms (CEDMs) of a pressurized water reactor are studied with the simplified mathematical model. The CEDMs are modeled as multiple substructures having different masses and the reactor vessel as a single degree of freedom system. The explicit equation for the frequency responses of the multiple substructure system are presented for the case of harmonic base excitations. The optimum dynamic characteristics of the CEDMs are presented to reduce the dynamic responses of the reactor vessel. The mathematical model and its response equations are verified by finite element analysis for the detailed model of the reactor vessel and the CEDMs for the harmonic base excitations. It is finally shown that the optimal dynamic characteristics of the CEDM presented can be applicable for the aseismic design.

This paper deals with dynamic behaviors of a free-piston Vuilleumier heat pump system, which are characterized by stroke of each diplacer/stroke ratio, operating frequency and phase angle. Based on the Isothermal Model, basic equations of motion are derived and linearized. In particular, dependence of damping coefficients of the dynamic parameters are taken into account in the formulation, which does not bring additional difficulties in the analysis. In order to investigate effects of design conditions on the dynamic parameters are taken into account in the formulation, which does not bring additional difficulties in the analysis. In order to investigate effects of design conditions on the dynamic characteristics, calculations are performed for the prototype made by Schulz and Thomas and results are qualitatively compared with their data obtained from the analysis as well as the experiment. It appears that they made a mistake in evaluating the hysteresis loss of the gas spring in their analysis. And, the present results show a better agreement with their experimental data than those by their own analysis. Although there are some unresolved aspects such as frequency variations with respect to the mean pressure and the hot space temperature, it is expected that the present analysis may be an effective tool for prediction of dynamics of a free- pistion VM machine at the preliminary design stage.

In many machines handling lightweight and flexible media such as magnetic tape drives, xerographic copiers and sewing machines, the media must transit an open space. It is important to predict the static and dynamic behavior of the sheets with a high degree of reliability. The nonlinear theory of the dynamic elastica has often been used to a nonlinear dynamic deflection model. In this paper, the governing equation is derived and simulated by the finite differential method. The parametric cubic curve is applied for defining the guide shape. The dynamic contact conditions suggested by Klarbring is used to predict the direction of the flexible media according to the initial velocity and the friction coefficient. The analysis is also compared to the conventional model, showing that after contacting a $45^{\circ}$ wall, the directions of flexible media of two models are different.

In this paper dynamic modeling parameters were estimated using a frequency domain estimation method. A systematic flight test method was employed using preprogrammed multistep excitation of the swashplate control input. In addition when one axis is excited, the autopilot is engaged in the other axis, thereby obtaining high-quality flight data. A dynamic model was derived for a small scale unmanned helicopter (CNUHELI-020, developed by Chungnam National University) equipped with a Bell-Hiller stabilizer bar. Six degree of freedom equations of motion were derived using the total forces and moments acting on the small scale helicopter. The dynamics of the main rotor is simplified by the first order tip-path plane, and the aerodynamic effects of fuselage, tail rotor, engine, and horizontal/vertical stabilizer were considered. Trim analysis and linearized model were used as a basic model for the parameter estimation. Doublet and multistep inputs are used to excite dynamic motions of the helicopter. The system and input matrices were estimated in the frequency domain using the equation error method in order to match the data of flight test with those of the dynamic modeling. The dynamic modeling and the flight test show similar time responses, which validates the consequence of analytic modeling and the procedures of parameter estimation.
