Groundwater Movement Analysis Using the WINFLOW Model (WINFLOW 모델을 이용한 지하수 유동해석)

  • This study examines groundwater movement system analysis and movement forecast algorithm using finite element method. The target is Cheongha-myeon area, Bukgu, Pohang-city which has many difficulties in water supply during drought period. From the comparison of the differences between obtained values by WINFlOW model and observed values, it is thought that groundwater head distribution under steady flow is reflected well at the level of reliability Groundwater movement of study area shows stable pattern from western watershed to eastern coastal area while flow path is dense and steep in the center of the coastal area. The results of particle tracing for each well show a comparatively straight line from the western boundary side to the observation position at the upper area of the well, and are analyzed as it diffuses according to getting closer to the coast at the lower area of the well. The result of effect circle examination attendant on pumping amount in study area shows variation tendency that groundwater head decreases at the side and the lower area more than at the upper area of the well when groundwater flows from west to east(coast). As mentioned above, satisfactory results of groundwater movement analysis using WINFlOW model, two dimensional groundwater movement analysis model, are obtained through the great decrease of physical uncertainty of groundwater movement system.

Implementation of Driver Fatigue Monitoring System (운전자 졸음 인식 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, we introduce the implementation of driver fatigue monitering system and its result. Input video device is selected commercially available web-cam camera. Haar transform is used to face detection and adopted illumination normalization is used for arbitrary illumination conditions. Facial image through illumination normalization is extracted using Haar face features easily. Eye candidate area through illumination normalization can be reduced by anthropometric measurement and eye detection is performed by PCA and Circle Mask mixture model. This methods achieve robust eye detection on arbitrary illumination changing conditions. Drowsiness state is determined by the level on illumination normalize eye images by a simple calculation. Our system alarms and operates seatbelt on vibration through controller area network(CAN) when the driver's doze level is detected. Our algorithm is implemented with low computation complexity and high recognition rate. We achieve 97% of correct detection rate through in-car environment experiments.

Butyltins in Surface Sediments of Kyeonggi Bay, Korea

  • Forty sediment samples from Kyeonggi Bay, Korea were analyzed for butyltins, including tributyltin (TBT), dibutyltin (DBT), and monobutyltin (MBT) to determine their distribution and source in this area. Total butyltin concentrations in Kyeonggi Bay sediments ranged from 0.8 to 297 ng/g dry wt. with a mean value of 38 ng/g. The highest butyltin concentration was found in the innermost site in Incheon Harbor basin. The mouth of Han River had higher butyltin levels in sediments compared to open ocean. Butyltin levels correlated well with organic carbon content of sediment, but the major factor was the distance from the source area where antifouling paints were used for vessels and marine structures. Butyltin concentrations in the study area were lower than those reported for bays in other parts of the world. Considering the high toxic potential and sediment/water partition coefficient of TBT, further studies are needed to assess its biological effect in the marine ecosystem of Kyeonggi Bay.

  • Many enterprises make use of 'mecenat action' for positive image ensuring to company and harmony within organization members. Also, at the same time the research has continued estimating of efficiency about that area. but that estimations get accomplished inclusive and abstractive, and then estimation of significant effect isn't sufficient. In this study we consider that many enterprises practice culture and art education program, and related that analyze the estimation of effect in 'mecenat action'. Stand on this analysis we attempts to extract factor, having representation character with making standard for estimation of education effect. That is a implication that relation education programs are prepared many enterprises, In future study, we will need to make standard and select methods about effect estimation, add measurable index that reliability can increase.

  • The use of gestures provides an attractive alternate to cumbersome interfaces for human-computer devices interaction. This has motivated a very active research area concerned with computer vision-based recognition of hand gestures. The most important issues in hand gesture recognition is to recognize the directivity of finger. The primitive elements extracted to a hand gesture include in very important information on the directivity of finger. In this paper, we propose the recognition algorithm of finger directivity by using the cross points of circle and sub-primitive element. The radius of circle is increased from minimum radius including main-primitive element to it including sub-primitive elements. Through the experiment, we demonstrated the efficiency of proposed algorithm.

A Novel Circle Detection Algorithm for Iris Segmentation (홍채 영역 분할을 위한 새로운 원 검출 알고리즘)

  • There is a variety of researches about recognition system using biometric data these days. In this study, we propose a new algorithm, uses simultaneous equation that made of the edge of objects, to segment an iris region without threshold values from an anterior eye image. The algorithm attempts to find a center area through calculated outskirts information of an iris, and decides the area where the most points are accumulated. To verify the proposed algorithm, we conducted comparative experiments to Hough transform and Daugman's method, based on 50 images anterior eye images. It was found that proposed algorithm is 5 and 75 times faster than on each algorithm, and showed high accuracy of detecting a center point (95.36%) more than Hough transform (92.43%). In foreseeable future, this study is expected to useful application in diverse department of human's life, such as, identification system using an iris, diagnosis a disease using an anterior image.

A Study on the Distribution of Trampling Frequency on the Athletic Turf of a Soccer Field (축구경기장 잔디의 답압류도분포에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the distribution of players on a soccer field was investigated with slide -photos in order to suggest a basic data for the athletic turf maintenance and construction. The results of this investigation may be summarized as follows. 1) There's a tendency that trampling frequency per grid (32.23m$^2$)of a soccer field gradually increases from the corner area to the center. Especially the area around goal and center-circle get the highest frequency. 2) Trampling numbers per grid show the similar tendency to trampling fequency. And the grid around the goal get the highest trampling number per grid.(6.52 times/32.23m$^2$). 3) The extent of the damage to the athletic turf per grid also show the similar tendency to the foregoing results. Under such extent of the damage to the athletic turf as these, the method of the turf maintenance and construction will be made.

A PARAMETRIC BOUNDARY OF A PERIOD-2 COMPONENT IN THE DEGREE-3 BIFURCATION SET

  • The boundary of a typical period-2 component in the degree-3 bifurcation set is formulated by a parametrization of its image which is the unit circle under the multiplier map. Some properties on the geometry of the boundary are investigated including the root point, the cusp and the length as well as the area bounded by the boundary curve. The centroid of the area for the period-2 component was numerically found with high accuracy and compared with its center. An algorithm drawing the boundary curve with Mathematica codes is proposed and its implementation exhibits a good agreement with the analysis presented here.

  • The elderly population ratio of domestic is the actual condition where the countermeasure which is various for there is a possibility of saying that is already experiencing the aging society, is considered. The expansion of the elderly welfare facility of the area where is located among the rest in the situation as a matter of metropolitan area of domestic ephemerality and the price of land which the earth has, duplication operation etc. is having a problem point and the ephemerality which are various. About of composition different facility and leads with alternative and expansion and function of function and facility leads and the synergy effect which is various shows. So this study is consequently does the school facility which is located in life circle of the city center in middle of composition of the elderly welfare facility and other facility and in the object and under proposing boil the complex at the time of spatial composition blueprint with the elderly welfare facility and the school.

Studies on the Mackerel Purse Seine Operation in the Sea Area of Cheju Island - 1 . Model Experiment on the Changes of Net Shape in Stagnant Water - (제주도 주변해엽 고등어 포착망의 연구 - 1 . 정수에 있어서 망형 변화에 관한 모형실험 -)

  • In order to investigate the performance for the mackerel purse seine of one boat purse seiner using in the sea area of Cheju Island, a model net is made of the scale of 1/400 of its full scale, and model test on the shape of net and the tension of purse line is carried out in the stagnant water channel of the circulating water tank. Designing and testing for the model net are based on the Tauti's law. The obtained results are as follows; 1. The sinking rate of net is maximized the value of 6.40 m/min from 5 to 10 minutes after shooting net, and the mean value is 6.13 m/min. 2. The enclosed area formed with the float line after pursing operation is 76-84% of the area which is formed immediately after the shooting operation. At that time, purse seine is pulled inward the circle of surrounding net about 26.5% of the diameter. 3. In operating, when longitudinal section area of the central part of the net is maximized, the split area of both the wing-ends is 31-32% of the former. 4. When the time for the completing of pursing is 20 minutes, the maximum tension of the purse line is about 10.2 tons.
