  • Air pollution is a problem of environmental health risk in big cities. Recently, researchers have proposed using various artificial intelligence technologies to predict air pollution. The proposed model is Cooperative of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and Fuzzy Inference System (FIS), to predict air pollution of Korean cities using Python. Data air pollutant variables were collected and the Air Korean Web site air quality index was downloaded. This paper's aim was to predict on the health risks and the very unhealthy values of air pollution. We have predicted the air pollution of the environment based on the air quality index. According to the results of the experiment, our model was able to predict a very unhealthy value.

  • A theoretical model for film condensation of a vapor including a relatively lighter noncondensable gas on a horizontal tube has been formulated on the basis of the conservation laws and other fundamental physical principles. The model is applied to the prediction of the condensation heat transfer characteristics for the Freon vapor in the presence of air on a horizontal tube. Calculated results for the mean heat transfer coefficient, which is shown to depend strongly on the bulk concentration of air, are in good agreement with the available experimental results for a range of operating conditions. The distributions of physical quantities along the surface of tube are also calculated, such as the boundary layer thickness and local heat transfer coefficient. The present model is readily reduced to the Nusselt model as the bulk concentration of air decreases to zero. Therefore, the transition from the condensation of pure vapor to that of vapor-air mixture occurs continuously not abruptly.

  • In this study, the models with three, five and ten wings of the propeller which made a light aircraft fly were performed by air flow analyses. As for the flow model A with the shape with five wings, Model A can be seen to be the most ideal flow of air. The flow of air through the number of wings, which is not too many or too few, shows the most smooth flowing form. The smaller the number of propeller blades, the smaller the flow of air. Model A is applied under pressure of up to 0.5631 MPa at the front of air flow. Also, models B and C are applied under pressures of 0.5758 MPa and 0.5589 MPa, respectively. Comparing the pressure contours for each model of flux, model B can be shown to have the highest pressure distribution. The result of this study can be used to investigate the air flow without actual testing. It also seems to be helpful in the aesthetic convergent design of light aircraft propeller.

  • Air mattress is now used widely to prevent the pressure ulcer by reducing the localized pressure peaks. In this paper an air-cell mattress and its pressure control method based on an approximate anthropometric model are presented. The air-cell mattress has eighteen cylindrical air cells made of porous material allowing air leakage to contribute in reducing the development of pressure ulcer by lowering the pressure peak, temperature and humidity. To determine an optimal air-cell pressure appropriate for each user, we divide the parts of the body into four sections such as head, trunk, hip, and leg. Then, the pressure of each section is independently calculated from the weight of each part based on the individual body height and weight and the approximate anthropometric model. Air supply system for the air-cell mattress is implemented by using four electronic solenoid valves and an air compressor, and it is driven by a real-time micro-controller. The experimental results with seven subjects shows that the proposed air-cell mattress is effective for the prevention of the pressure ulcer.

  • This study was conducted to build the CFD simulation model which can quantify the distribution of the meteorological factors in air-heated greenhouse for chrysanthemum according to the location and capacity of air-circulation fan. The CFD model was also verified by experiment. It was judged that SST model was the most appropriate turbulence model which can properly describe the airflow by the air-circulation fan. According to the simulation results, the differences between the measured and predicted temperatures from 18 points at each height in the greenhouse were $0.2{\sim}0.4^{\circ}C$ in average. This showed a good agreement between the predicted data and the measured ones. The developed CFD model can be a useful tool to evaluate and design the air-circulation systems in the greenhouse with various configurations.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the combustion emission characteristics by the effect of secondary air injection and variation of the excess air ratio in combustion field of model gas turbine combustor. For this purpose, mean temperature, CO, $CO_2$, $O_2$ and HC concentrations were measured by changing excess air ratio and secondary air injection. As a result of this study, mean temperature was decreased and CO, HC emission increased by increasing the excess air ratio of secondary air. Therefore, this results showed the secondary air injection effected strongly on the flame structure and combustion emission characteristics.

  • In the present work, the numerical model was refined to predict the thermal analysis of energy storage in a fixed beds during charging mode. The governing energy equations of both fluid and the solid particles along with their initial and boundary conditions are derived using a two-phase, one dimensional model. The refined model is carried out by taking into account change of (air density , air specific heat) with air temperature and also by taking into considerations heat losses from bed to surrounding. Finite difference method was used to obtain solution of two governing energy equations of both fluid and solid particles through a computer program especially constructed for this purpose. The temperature field for the air and the solid are obtained, also energy stored inside the bed is computed. A comparison between refined model and non refined model is done. Finally using refined model the effect of bed material (Glass, Fine clay ,and aluminum ), and air flow rate per unit area Ga (0.3, 0.4, and 0.5 kg/$m^2$-s) on energy storage characteristics was studied.

  • This study presents an analytical model of the pneumatic circuit of an air suspension system to analyze the characteristics of vehicle height control. The analytical model was developed through the co-simulation of Simulink(air spring) and HyPneu(pneumatic circuit). Variant effective area of air spring and flow coefficients of pneumatic valves were estimated experimentally prior to the system test, and utilized in simulation. One-comer test apparatus was established using the components of commercial air suspension products. The results of simulation and experiment were so close that the proposed analytical model in this study was validated. However the frictional loss of conduit and heat dissipation which were ignored in this study need to be considered in future study. As an application example of proposed analytical model, an alternative pneumatic circuit of air suspension to conventional WABCO circuit was evaluated. The comparison of simulation results of WABCO circuit and alternative circuit show that proposed analytical model of co-simulation in this study is useful for the study of pneumatic system of automotive air suspension.
