Group signature schemes allow a group member to sign messages anonymously on behalf of the group. In case of dispute, only a designated group manager can reveal the identity of the member. During last decade, group signature schemes have been intensively investigated in the literature and applied to various applications. However, there has been no scheme properly handling the situation that a group member wants to leave a group or is excluded by a group manager. As noted in[3], the complexity of member deletion stands in the way of real world applications of group signatures and the member deletion problem has been a pressing open problem. In this paper we propose an efficient group signature scheme that allows member deletion. The length of the group public key and the size of signatures all independent of the size of the group and the security of the scheme relies on the RSA assumption. In addition, the method of tracing all signatures of a specific member is introduced.

Src homology 2-containing protein tyrosine phosphatase 2 (SHP-2) is known to protect neurons from neurodegeneration during ischemia/reperfusion injury. We recently reported that ROS-mediated oxidative stress promotes phosphorylation of endogenous SHP-2 in astrocytes and complex formation between caveolin-1 and SHP-2 in response to oxidative stress. To examine the region of SHP-2 participating in complex formation with caveolin-1, we generated three deletion mutant constructs and six point mutation constructs of SHP-2. Compared with wild-type SHP-2, binding of the N-SH2 domain deletion mutant of SHP-2 to p-caveolin-1 was reduced greatly, using flow cytometric competitive binding assays and surface plasmon resonance (SPR). Moreover, deletion of the N-SH2 domain of SHP-2 affected $H_2O_2$-mediated ERK phosphorylation and Src phosphorylation at Tyr 419 in primary astrocytes, suggesting that N-SH2 domain of SHP-2 is responsible for the binding of caveolin-1 and contributes to the regulation of Src phosphorylation and activation following ROS-induced oxidative stress in brain astrocytes.

Video transcoding is a technique used to convert a compressed input video stream with an arbitrary format, size, and bitrate into a different attribute video stream different attributes to provide a efficient video streaming service for the customers is dispersed in the heterogeneous networks. Specifically, frames deletion occur in a transcoding scheme that exploits the adjustment of frame rate, and at this time, the loss in temporal relation among frames due to frame deletion is compensated for the prediction of motion estimation by reusing motion vectors in the would-be deleted frames. But the processing time for transcoding don't have an improvement as much as our expectation because transcoding is done only within the transcoder. So in this paper, we propose a new transcoding algorithm based on prediction period to improve transcoding-related processing time. For this, we also modify the existing encoder so as to adjust dynamically frame rate based on the prediction period and deletion period of frames. To check how the proposed algorithm works nicely, we implement a video streaming system with the new transcoder and encoder to which it is applied. The result of the performance test shows that the streaming system with proposed algorithm improve 60% above in processing time and also PSNR have a good performance while the quality of pictures is preserved.
This study was aim to compare the phonological error patterns and PCC(Percentage of Correct Consonants) derived from the single word and spontaneous speech contexts of the speech sound disorders with unknown origin(SSD). The present study suggest that the development phonological error patterns and non-developmental error patterns of the target children, in according to speech context. The subjects were 15 children with SSD up to the age of 5 from 3 years of age. This research use 37 words of APAC(Assessment of Phonology & Articulation for Children) in the single word context and 100 eojeol in the spontaneous speech context. There was no difference of PCC between the single word and the spontaneous speech contexts. Significantly different developmental phonological error patterns between the single word and the spontaneous speech contexts were syllable deletion, word-medial onset deletion, liquid deletion, gliding, affrication, fricative other error, tensing, regressive assimilation. Significantly different non-developmental phonological error patterns were backing, addtion of phoneme, aspirating. The study showed that there was no difference of PCC between elicited single word and spontaneous conversational context. And there were some different phonological error patterns derived from the two contexts of the speech sound disorders. The more important interventions target is the error patterns of the spontaneous speech contexts for the immediate generalization and rising overall intelligibility.
Four genes (yqfR, yfmL, ydbR, deaD) were identified as putative DEAD-box RNA helicase genes in the genomic sequence of Bacillus subtilis by homology search. To understand the function of these genes, each of the genes was deleted and the constructed strains were tested for their growth charateristics at different temperatures. The growth rate of ydbR deletion mutant ($T_d$=53 min) was a little bit reduced at $37^{\circ}C$ as compared to that of wild type strain (CU1065). But the growth rate of other three (yqfR, yfmL, deaD) deletion mutants ($T_d$=30-40 min) is nearly equal to the growth rate of wild type ($T_d$=32 min). On the other hands, the growth rate of deletion mutants were reduced at $22^{\circ}C$ in order of yqfR ($T_d$=151 min), yfmL ($T_d$=214 min), ydbR ($T_d$=343 min), which showed cold-sensitive phenotype. The deletion mutant of deaD ($T_d$=109 min) grew equally as compared to the growth rate ($T_d$=102 min) of the wild type at $22^{\circ}C$ and did not show cold-sensitive growth. Double, triple and quadruple deletion mutants of these genes were constructed, and growth rate of these mutants were measured at various temperature conditions ($22^{\circ}C$, $37^{\circ}C$, $42^{\circ}C$) using LB broth. Multiple deletion mutations showed more severe cold-sensitive growth than single deletion mutations, and double deletion of ydbR and yfmL ($T_d$=984 min) showed most cold-sensitive growth than any other double mutants. Such a cold-sensitive growth of these mutations is quite similar to the result of csdA or srmB deletion in E. coli and suggested that physiological role of ydbR and yfmL is related with ribosome assembly.
Deletions of 14q including band 14q32.33 are uncommon. Patients with terminal deletions of chromosome 14 usually share a number of clinical features. By molecular techniques (array comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), we identified a young girl with 0.3 Mb terminal 14q32.33 deletion. Review of the nine cases with pure terminal 14q32.3 deletions described to date documented that our observation is the smallest terminal 14q deletion ever reported. The phenotype of our patient is much less severe than the phenotypes of the patients reported previously. We report our experience in examining the clinical, behavioral, and cognitive findings in a 5-year-old girl studied with chromosomal microarray hybridization and reviewed previously reported patients with 14q32 deletions.
The cyclic AMP receptor protein (CRP) homolog, GlxR, controls the expression of several genes involved in the regulation of diverse physiological processes in Corynebacterium glutamicum. In silico analysis has revealed the presence of glxR binding sites upstream of genes ptsG, adhA, and ald, encoding glucose-specific phosphotransferase system protein, alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), and acetaldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), respectively. However, the involvement of the GlxR-cAMP complex on the expression of these genes has been explored only in vitro. In this study, the expressions of ptsG, adhA, and ald were analyzed in detail using an adenylate cyclase gene (cyaB) deletion mutant and glxR deletion mutant. The specific activities of ADH and ALDH were increased in both the mutants in glucose and glucose plus ethanol media, in contrast to the wild type. In accordance, the promoter activities of adhA and ald were derepressed in the cyaB mutant, indicating that glxR acts as a repressor of adhA. Similarly, both the mutants exhibited derepression of ptsG regardless of the carbon source. These results confirm the involvement of GlxR on the expression of important carbon metabolic genes; adhA, ald, and ptsG.

The 18q-syndrome is a deletion disorder that occurs in humans. Clinical symptoms are mental retardation, craniofacial anomalies, skeletal deformity, seizure, and hearing loss. 18q- deletion occurs over a broad region, spanning the interval from 18q22.2 to 18qter rather than a single critical region containing 18q. We experienced a case of 18q-syndrome in a male child. It was diagnosed by clinical and chromosomal study. He was a 15month-old infant who was admitted because of prolonged fever and vomiting. And he manifested a depressed midface, esotropia, anhydrosis, and developmental delay. Peripheral blood chromosome studies showed deleted chromosomal material at the distal part of the long arm of chromosome 18. He showed right hydronephroureterosis on IVP. So, he was diagnosed as 18q-syndrome with right hydronephroureterosis and anhydrosis. We report this syndrome with a review and related literature.
Recently it was reported that Insertion/Deletion polymorphism in the gene coding for Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) is associated with human capacity for physical performance. This study was performed to genotyping of the ACE gene to determine the correlation between elite endurance performance and ACE I/D gene polymorphism. DNA sample was obtained from peripheral blood, hair roots and mouth epithelial cell in 739 general population and 200 elite athletic performance students. The ACE gene was amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using allele specific oligonucleotide primers. 155, 525 bp and 237 bp PCR products indicating the presence of insertion(I) and deletion(D) alleles, respectively, were clearly resolved after electrophoresis on a 2% agarose gel with ethidium bromide. Of the 200 elite athletic performance population subjects, 68(34%) showed ACE genotype 11,100(50%) genotype ID and 32(16%) genotype DD. Of the 739 general population subjects, 259(35.1%) showed ACE genotype 11,363(49.1%) genotype ID and 117(15.8%) genotype DD. Therefore ACE I/D gene polymorphism was not associated with human capacity for physical performance.(p>0.05)

The filamentous cyanobacterium Anabaena sp. Strain PCC 7120 produces a developmental patten of single hete- rocysts separated by approximately 10 vegetative cells. Heterocysts differentiate from vegetative cells and are spe- cialized for nitrogen fixation. The patS gene, which encodes a small peptide that inhibits heterocyst differentiation, is expressed in proheterocysts and plays a critical role in establishing the heterocyst pattem. Another key regulator of heterocyst development is the hetR gene. hetR mutants fail to produce heterocysts and extra copies of hetR on a plas- mid cause a multiple contiguous heterocyst phenotype. To elucidate the relationship between these two counter act- ing factors in the genetic regulatory pathway during heterocyst differentiation, the expression patterns of a patS-gfp and a hetR-gfp fusion were examined in a patS deletion and a hetR deletion strain. The results, in combination with the result from a hetR and patS double deletion strain, suggest patS and hetR are mutually antagonistic and the bal- ance between these two factors in tow different cell types (heterocysts and vegetative cells) may be critical during the decision making process on their cell fates.
