As an application and potential of 3D printing (3DP) accelerates in diverse industries, the use of 3DP is also increasing in the textile and fashion industry. Since the fashion trend is rapidly changing and there are high demands of customized products for customer segments, research on manufacturing of 3DP textiles has become more important. 3DP textiles have different physical and chemical properties depending on a various 3D printing technologies or materials. However, it is difficult to fabricate 3DP textiles that meets demand of garment such as flexibility, wearability, tensile strength and abrasion resistance so that 3DP in fashion industry relatively has a narrow range of applications compared to other industries. The aim of this paper is to provide a trend of research about manufacturing 3DP textiles by analyzing previous studies according to textile's properties. This paper classifies the five types of 3DP textiles and analyses systematically. First, 3DP textiles blended with existing textiles. Second, 3DP textiles utilizing the structural design of existing textiles. Third, 3DP textiles designed with continuous units. Fourth, 3DP textiles utilizing material properties. Fifth, 3DP textiles based on smart materials. Based on this analysis, future research of manufacturing 3DP textiles needs are identified and discussed.

The purpose of this research is to propose employee uniforms for tourist hotels on Jeju Island, such uniforms that embrace Jeju's unique culture and promote the tourism of Jeju Island. It has been suggested that there exists a need for hotel employee uniforms to attract more tourist attention and boost Jeju's tourism industry. We designed the uniform after analyzing the empirical data collected from academia thesis, periodicals, papers and pictures from internet search, and fashion industry magazines. The uniform analysis and production procedures are as follows: (1) precedent research case review (2) current (existing) uniform status survey (3) latest fashion trend analysis (2010 - 2014) (4) creating the uniform implementing the trend-based design with Gal Cheon, Jeju's cultural product material. We found tipping points of the design through literature and trend analysis; we developed appropriate uniforms accordingly that are harmonious with Jeju's unique identity. We received great evaluations on the appearance and comfort as well. A new concept of uniform featuring Gal Cheon has been proposed. It is expected that the uniforms will promote the brand image of Jeju as an international freedom city and its culture.

In order to check ordinary trend of a research for old ages, it was collected and analyzed against old ages. Out of a research papers from 1995 to 2005 issued for 6 scientific journals in clothing and textiles areas which were listed on KOREA RESEARCH FOUNDATION. The results were as follows. First, the research papers for 11 years from surveyed scientific journals were totally 5,711 papers, and It were only 71 papers for old ages to be reviewed and surveyed, which slightly occupied 1.24% from whole papers. Second, yearly ranges of research paper against old ages were shown to be down-trend, as it recorded 2.75% in 1995, however it falls on 0.77% in terms of the increasing aspect of clothing and textiles research paper numbers. Third, a paper for each research areas ranged in turn, as clothing construction, fashion merchandising socio-psychology of clothing, etc. If we see in detail area, the research for somatotype and role occupied 37.4% from all researches against old ages. Accordingly it needs more various kinds of study. Fourth, The Koreav Society of Clothing and Textiles paper occupied 40.8% from whole scientific journals, which was obviously shown. Fifth, each sex distribution for researched old ages noted almost old women (77.5%), but cover 9.9% for old men. Therefore it required much more researches for old men, we thought.

Maximalism in modern fashion has emerged as an anti-conception against Minimaslism which dominated the trend of 21st century. Contrary to the traits of Minimalism which are oriented to constraint and editing, Maximalism expresses human sensitivity, concern to tradition and other culture, and instinctive desire for decoration. The trend of Maximalism is reflected in various areas of fashion and shoes design, and its influence is still enlarging. This idea for designing shoes come from analyzing the related documentaries, fashion magazines and internet sites since 2005, when the maximalism was main concepts in worldwide fashion trends. The traits of Maxmalistic trend expressed in shoes are decentralizing, pluralisml, sensitivity, etc. The molding constituents, such as form, material, color, accessary decoration, have been expressed as diversified and differentiated traits of shoes design through molding modes such as exaggeration and concentration, distortion and modification, removal and mixing-up. This study takes advantage of this opportunity to grasp the diversified and colorful trend and molding traits of Maximalim expressed in shoes design, close up the molding value of shoes design, and finally enlarge the realm of aesthetic expression of shoes design.

In 2000s, the interest of ROHAS has been increased and the environmental problem has begun to be discussed as the environmental and global value, not the individual perspective. And the standard of value for eco-friendly awareness has been expanded to the economic category. The trend of eco-friendly fabric can be divided into 3 periods depending on the property. The period for natural fabric with visual effects(2002~2004) can be summarized as the creation of natural shape using the natural image, the interaction of cotton and the technology from the visual perspective. In the period of functional conjunction with eco-friendliness and technology(2005~2008), the eco-friendly awareness through the conjunction of technology and nature and the re-cycling, and the responsibility to the environment had been increased. In the period of sustainable development for nature and environment(2009~2011), it showed the conjunction with nature and the integration with technology and eco-friendly issues. Therefore, the characteristic of eco-friendly trend in fabric since 2000 can be said; firstly, the high-quality fabric has been developed with technological development for the functional progress. Secondly, the ethical creativity has been displayed with the development and utilization of eco-friendly recycling materials. Thirdly, the materials reflected with eco-friendly issues have emerged.

This study attempted to investigate the research trend of MLD studies which were issued from 2001 to March 2022 by research period/area/method/purpose through the analysis of academic theses and journals and use the results for the growth and of MLD. The study results found the followings: First, in terms of the results by research period, a total of 84 academic papers and journals were published: Phase 1 (15), Phase 2 (47), Phase 3 (22). Second, when analyzed by research area, 'cosmetology' was the highest with 19 papers in terms of the number of studies. In fact, the field of study accounted for the largest portion in all three phases. Third, when analyzed by research method, quantitative research showed the largest percentage in all three phases. Fourth, when analyzed by research purpose, a practical approach was dominant with 81 papers out of the total number of 84 (3 papers in theoretical approach). Concerning a domestic MLD-related research trend, it is an essential step for MLD study establishment and qualitative improvements. Such research analysis of MLD studies is meaningful in that it has not been attempted before. In addition, it is anticipated that the study results would be helpful in searching a direction for the academic growth and development of MLD.

This study is focused on apparel textile design process applying pre-developed Korean traditional motifs. Since the fusion culture is in trend, Orientalism or Oriental look is the center of attraction in fashion. Under the circumstances, developing the traditional resources as sophisticated Korean-style is the goal of the BK21 team. This study makes a move to achieve the goal. As a method of accomplishing this study, 4 trendy motif samples such as stylized letter, butterfly, peony, and female face are selected after investigating fashion magazines and fashion related websites. As a result, pre-developted Korean traditional motifs are elected and revised using Adobe Illustrator 9.0. The newly revised motifs are applied to the textile pattern repeat form. The completed textile patterns are simulated on the simulated on the shawls to show their usages as one of souvenir items since the year of 2001 is the year of “Visit Korea”.

The purpose of this study is to examine the changing process of hairstyle and the fashion trend of hairstyle in the environment where it is possible to change one's hairstyle easily arid .display oneself in various ways and the interest in hairstyle is increasing. To examine the change of real university girls' hairstyle, I selected commencement pictures of Chungnam University as material. As a method of analysis, I compared and anaylized each time period's fashion trend and the change of real university girls' hairstyle after abstracting formative element of hairstyle on the basis of preceding studies on hairstyle and measuring frequency by element of each time period. Analyzing university girls' pictures showed that many of them had curls when various perms appeared and majority of them had straight style when straight perm and magic iron appeared. When products of hairstyling were on the market and globalization changed sense of beauty, it was highly popular to set up forelock with hairstyling products. In a pluralistic social environment, desire for color aspect other than formative aspect increased. As various hairdyes were developed, hairdyeing was generalized and university girls came to accept it as natural. Fashion trend of each time period and university girls' hairstyle showed generally similar trend. In mid 1980s, curl was popular, and, in late 1980s, straight style and setting up forelock with hairstyling products were on the increase. In early 1990s, the emergence of coating perm which combined perm and hairdyeing increased hairdyeing. In late 1990s, straight style was popular and layers expressed naturalness. In early 2000s, university girls showed off their long hair in various ways and hairdyeing drastically increased.

Viktor and Rolf, despite their short career in the field, has been continuously giving a fresh impact on fashion design by grafting a surrealistic approach to their design works. As a basis of this study, we review the features of surrealistic drawing and the surrealistic features expressed in surrealistic clothes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the surrealistic features detected in the clothes designed by Viktor and Rolf on the basis of the above standard and review and predict the future trend in fashion. As for the research method, we review the previous researches and analyze the drawing works by some representative surrealistic artists, in particular, Schiaparelli's clothes in the 1930s, the clothes of surrealistic trend since 2000, and Viktor & Rolf's clothes. The result of the analysis is as follows. The surrealistic features of Viktor & Rolf clothes can be found in the movement of natural objects, the movement of everyday materials, the movement of clothing items, and visual illusion on clothes. As a whole, the surrealistic features clearly stood out in their clothes. High technology will rapidly change the modern society and we humans are likely to resort to something fresh or different as our emotion and feelings are getting tired and weary. Something that stimulates our feeling and emotion hidden behind our reason or logic will be reflected in design far more than something complex and functional. For this reason, as it reveals human imagination inherently, surrealism is expected to establish itself as a mega trend in the future.
