Tester Structure Expression Language and Its Application to the Environment for VLSI Tester Program Development

  • VLSI chips have been tested using various automatic test equipment (ATE). Although each ATE has a similar structure, the language for ATE is proprietary and it is not easy to convert a test program for use among different ATE vendors. To address this difficulty we propose a tester structure expression language, a tester language with a novel format. The developed language is called the general tester language (GTL). Developing an interpreter for each tester, the GTL program can be directly applied to the ATE without conversion. It is also possible to select a cost-effective ATE from the test program, because the program expresses the required ATE resources, such as pin counts, measurement accuracy, and memory capacity. We describe the prototype environment for the GTL and the tester selection tool. The software size of the prototype is approximately 27,800 steps and 15 manmonths were required. Using the tester selection tool, the number of man-hours required in order to select an ATE could be reduced to 1/10. A GTL program was successfully executed on actual ATE.

  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified.   • The development of LD(Laser Diode) tester and its control system based on the graphical programming language(LabVIEW) is addressed. The ill tester is used to check the optic power and the optic spectrum of the LD Chip. The emitter size of LD chip and the diameter of the Detector(optic fiber and photo diode) are very small, therefore the test device needs high accuracy. But each motion part of the test device could not accomplish high accuracy due to the limit of the mechanical performance. So, an image processing with machine vision is proposed to compensate for the error. By adopting our method we can reduce the error of position within $\pm$5$\mu\textrm{m}$.

Therefore, in order to test each chip precisely, this tester needs high accuracy. However each motion part of the tester could not accomplish hish accuracy due to the limit of the mechanical performance. Hence. an image processing with machine vision was carried out in order to compensate for the error. and also a load test was carried out so as to reduce tile impact of load on chip while the probing motion device is working. The obtained results were within ${\pm}$5$\mu\textrm{m}$ error.

  • Patients of dyslexia have an reading disorder marked by the occurrence of semantic errors. Because there is little understanding of dyslexia in korea, we use a translation version of foreign tester for testing the patients of dyslexia. However, the foreign testers is not suitable for testing the korean patients, because language is sensitive to national culture and trait. In this paper, we propose a model of tester for dyslexia Which is used for classification and analysis of korean patients. In addition, we show some characteristics of the implemented tester by a performance study.

  • Bluetooth Video Distribution Profile (VDP) defines the protocol and procedures that realize the distribution of video content compressed in a specific format for the efficient use of the limited bandwidth. In this paper, we describe the design of VDP tester based on TTCN-2 (Tree and Tabular Combined Notation), a language standardized by ISO for the specification of tests for real-time and communicating systems. Our work was carried out as a part of supporting a new profile testing module for VDP in PTS (Profile Tuning Suite), a reference test system for Bluetooth interoperability testing. Test demonstration for the interoperability with various VDP solutions at the PTS session in UPF30 (Unplug Fest) showed the validity of the developed tester. Eventually, we introduce the PTS architecture, and show the design and implementation of VDP tester included in the released PTS 3.0 in this paper.

  • The thesis describes the realization and test of the transport layer operating on the CLNS (Connection Less Network Service) which is specified by ISO 8073 and ADDENDUM 2 protocol. For realization of the transport layer, five modules and interface primitives were definde. This protocol was formally described by SDL (Specification and Description Language) and was programmed in C-language. For verification of the software, protocol tester was implemented and test scenarios were defined. The verification was accomplished based on the test scenarios. Transport Layer software presented in this thesis may be utilized in a real situation with some modifications. Protocol tester presented in this thesis can also be used for verification of other protocol softwares.

  • The purpose of this research is to help IPTV (Internet Protocol Television) commercialization using newly produced educational contents in the area of entertainment and education which currently popular in the market. It is called, Stimulus $Tester^{TM}$, endow reaction time from the feedback of learning system, using a non-direct method, for example, a remote controller. Reaction time is the learning efficiency promotion mechanism that learner ascertain the learning condition of oneself by the time with solved questions from the solving the question in given time. Reaction time also play a key role that the learner may go through course which distribute the point to PC from Server. If this system is ready, we expect that the educational industry will gradually spread out. To verify the learning efficiency of this system, we concluded that the learning improvements, by an Internet-based and a paper-based test, of the increase by 51%, from 2.47min to 1.27min, during reaction of 7 days.

  • 본 논문에서는 영한 기계번역 시스템 ALKOL의 개발 과정에서 사용된 분산 환경을 사전구축과 테스트 환경을 중심으로 설명한다. 번역 시스템 개발은 시스템 개발자, 사전 개발자, 검사자(tester)의 세 요소를 중심으로 이루어지는 작업으로, 효율적인 개발을 위해서는 개별 요소의 작업이 독립적으로 진행되면서 유기적으로 연결될 수 있는 환경이 마련되어야 한다. ALKOL에서는 이를 위하여 번역 시스템을 번역 서버, 사전 서버, 사전 편집기, 사용자 인터페이스의 클라이언트/서버 분산 환경으로 구성하고 검사자를 위한 테스트 환경을 제공하여 효율적인 번역 시스템 개발 환경을 구축한다. 번역 시스템을 분산 환경에서 개발하여 시스템 개발자, 사전 개발자, 검사자가 각자의 작업을 병렬적으로 진행할 수 있고 실시간으로 갱신되는 시스템과 사전 정보를 이용하여 작업을 진행할 수 있어 번역 시스템 개발의 효율성을 높일 수 있다.

  • AUTOSAR, a standard software platform for automotive, has been developed to manage software complexity and improve software reuseability. However reuse of test system is difficult because it is dependant on implementation language and test phase. In this paper, we suggest a test system generation method for AUTOSAR software component using TTCN-3, a standardized testing language. TTCN-3 test system is generated automatically from AUTOSAR XML containing software design information. The test system consists of TTCN-3 tester and target system and tests functionality and worst case response time of software under simulation environment. With the proposed testing techniques we can reduce time and effort to build the testing system and reuse testing environment.
