  • The ethanolic extract of Ficus racemosa Lin. (Moraceae) bark and fruit were tested for its possible antinociceptive activity study on acetic acid induced writhing method in mice. Both the bark and fruit extracts at a dose of 500 mg/kg body weight showed significant antinociceptive activity on the experimental animals. The fruit extract showed most potent inhibition of acetic acid induced writhing in mice (61.38%, P < 0.001) where as the bark extract showed inhibition only 42.6% (P < 0.001) and all the result were statistically significant.

  • This paper described the development of input driven multilayer perceptron(IDMLP) neural network and it's application to the Korean spoken digit recognition. The IDMPLP neural network used here and the learning algorithm for this network was proposed newly. In this model, weight value is integer and transfer function in the neuron is hard limit function. According to the result of the network learning for the some kinds of input data, the number of network layers is one or more by the difficulties of classifying the inputs. We tested the recognition of binaried data for the spoken digit 0 to 9 by means of the proposed network. The experimental results are 100% and 96% for the learning data and test data, respectively.

  • In this paper we propose the search algorithm of the boundary nodes that defined as the circuit segmentation when CUT is tested by pseudo-exhaustive testing. The algorithm treats the testability values of the nodes in CUT as the population composed of teh raw data, and after examines the level of significance a and then estimate the confidence interval of teh testability values. Thus One can easily searched the c9oundary nodes and PO of sub circuits. The proposed algorithm has been implemented under UNIX OS with C-language, applied to the combinational logic CUT. As a result, it is shown that the pseudo-exhaustive test patterns are least generated when \ulcornerhas 0.786. We confirmed that the rate of test pattern is 1.22%, compared with exhaustive test.

  • This study investigated 2- and 3-year-olds' story comprehension by story structure, Sixty-eight children from day-care centers in Seoul and Kyunggi province were tested story comprehension about causal, noncausal, discontinuous story presented by pictures. Story comprehension included literal, inferential, & empathic comprehension, Data were analysed by ANOVA(repeated measure) and t-test. The result showed that 3-year-olds scored higher in literal and inferential comprehension than 2-year-olds. Children's story comprehension(literal, inferential, & empathic) scores were higher in causal structure than discontinuous and noncausal structure.

  • Recently , polymer concrete has been widely used in the construction industry because of its quick setting, high strength, excellect adhesion, watertightness and chemical resistance compared to ordinary cement concrete. Its application is also increased. In this paper, lightweight polymer mortars using unsaturated polyester resin and lightweight aggregate are prepared with various mix proportations, and tested for slump working life, apparent specific gravity , flexural and compressive strengths. As a result, the slump and working life can be controlled and thier flexural and compressive strengths are 9.7 to 22.0 MPa , and 23.0 to 100.8 MPa respectively at apparent specific gravities of 0.86 to 1.73.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method for multi transmission method of data among near smart devices. Existing methods require the use of an extra application service where the operating system differs between smart devices. In contrast, the proposed method makes use of the smart device's inner speaker and microphone to confirm the transmission signal. Then, real sharing data is transmitted via WiFi or LTE. Therefore, the proposed method overcomes operating system issues with existing methods. Besides, BUMP technology works in a similar way to the method we propose, it only supports one-to-one transmission. To evaluate the efficacy of the new method, we tested one-to-many data transmission in an experiment: the results showed a 96% success rate. As a result, we believe that the proposed method is an effective multi transmission method of data among near smart devices.

  • The photocatalytic (PC) activity of anatase titania nanoparticles can be improved through codoping with transition metals and nitrogen. In addition, the PC activity can also be improved by creating monodisperse, mesoporous nanoparticles of titania. The question naturally arose as to whether combining these two characteristics would result in further improvement in the PC activity or not. Herein, we describe the synthesis and photocatalytic characteristics of codoped, monodisperse anatase titania. The transition metals tested in the polydisperse and the monodisperse forms were Mn, Co, Ni, and Cu. In each case, it was found that the monodisperse version had a higher PC activity compared to the corresponding polydisperse version.

  • The objective of this work is to investigate the possibility of using the longitudinal strain on the surface of a pipe to determine the inception of dangerous free spanning. The long term objective is to develop an online monitoring technique to detect the development of dangerous free spanning in subsea pipelines. This work involves experimental study as well as finite element modeling. In the experiments, the strains at four points on a cross section of a pipeline inside the free span zone are measured. Pipes with different boundary conditions and different diameter to length ratios were tested. The pipe is treated as a simple beam with fixed-fixed or simply supported boundary conditions. The variation of the strains as a function of the diameter to length ratio gives a pointer to the inception of dangerous free spanning. The finite element results agree qualitatively with the experiments. The quantitative discrepancy is a result of the difficulty to replicate the exact boundary conditions that is used by the finite element program.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop an efficient production strategy with changing factors to influence the productivity. The factors would be the number of Multi-Function worker, the method of job dispatching, and lot size. A simulation model has been developed for this study. We used AutoMod simulation and the process activity was animated to follow the flow of process easily. The alternatives have been tested through the simulation model, and the various alternatives is proposed for the efficient production strategy. We hope that the system is applied to similar types of small and medium-sized enterprises to develop an efficient production strategy and to achieve the satisfactory result.

  • Recently in the construction business construction companies has been ordered to survive in the terriblly competitive environment. Aa a result, most of the project with low-priced contract needs a speedy progress during all construction period. For the last five years major incident frequently occurs and results in the death of 189 workers at major top 6 construction builders. In most recent 10 years, the cause of major incidents happened in construction company is the speedy construction work that is affecting on the safety management. To prevent these accidents in the speedy construction work, four factors were chosed and analysed such as the personnel/organization, the working budget, the subcontractor selection and the employee motivation. The head office taked the support plan and tested it at the pilot work site. It showed a reduced accident and the harmful factors can be eliminated. It should be able to apply to the field to secure safety and prevent accidents.
