It is needed to install a one-way drainage filter to prevent a seepage from lake or river outside of embankment and to promote a drainage from a flood inside of embankment when dikes such as lake dike, river dike, etc are constructed. However, the results of research for one-way drainage filter are insufficient. Therefore, through the field test of one-way drainage filter, this study checked a function of one-way drainage filter with a test of performance. As a result of field test, water flow in dike was blocked in the interception direction of the section that one-way drainage filter was installed, but water passed to the flow allowance direction of the section. Therefore we confirmed the function of one-way drainage filter. Seepage quantity in the flow allowance direction of the one-way drainage filter section was low as 74.6~80.5 % than that in the section without installation of filter because of a reduction effect of seepage with filter. And seepage quantity of field test was low as 64.3~90.0 % than that in results of seepage analysis because the coefficient of permeability of embankment in field is different from the results of laboratory test. In the future, more study will be needed to solve several problems which are related to fix the filter on slide, durability of filter, etc.
Because of recent requirement for environmentally-friendly adhesive, water and/or alkali soluble pressure sensitive adhesives are being developed and produced. Our research laboratory newly developed the test method for measuring the water and alkali solubility of the adhesives. Also, we made the test method published both in KS and ISO. In this research, the test of measuring the water and/or alkali solubility of the test adhesive samples as a function of time at various temperatures was carried out using the proposed test method. The results showed this proposed test method made stable output data for the change of solubility as a function of time in the proper range of temperature.
To make rice cake with squid ink, the squid ink dilulted in fifteen times was added to rice flour in the ratio of 0%, 2%. 4%, 6% and 8% respectively. Then, the squid inky rice cake was tested in physical function and chromaticity. Rheometer test was also included in this experiment. In physical function test, it showed that the inky rice cake with 6% and 8% ratio was the best in preference. In the chromaticity test, as the adding ratio of squid ink increases, the brightness decreased. The red and yellow brightness of 8% inky rice cake showed high. The results of rheometer test are as follows. In hardness, the inky rice cake with 2% adding ratio was high and the 6% inky rice cake was low. In cohesiveness, the 0% inky rice cake was high and the 8% inky rice cake was low. In gumminess, the 2% inky rice cake was high and the 6% inky rice cake was low. In brittleness, the 2% inky rice cake was high and the 6% inky rice cake was low. With correlation analysis, 1 could reach the following. The overall quality of inky rice cake was correlated with all test items except chewiness. The moistness was correlated with flavor, grain and chewiness. Also, the 8% inky rice cake was correlated with the inky rice cakes with the other adding ratios in all aspects of test. Futhermore, in the results of rheometer test. the hardness was correlated with the other three kinds of characteristics.
A goodness-of-fit test for the two-parameter exponential distribution, for use with the singly Type I and Type II right censored samples, is proposed. The test statistic is based on the $L_1$-norm of discrepancy between the cumulative distribution function and the empirical distribution function. To deal with the unknown parameters problem, the K- transformation is considered and modified to be applied to the censored samples. Rosenblatt's transformation is extended to the cases of Type I and Type II censored samples, in order to transform the censored samples into the complete ones. The critial values of the test statistic are obtained by Monte Carlo simulations for some finite sample sizes. The power studies are conducted to compare the proposed test with the Pettitt(1977) test for exponentiality with censored samples. It appears that the proposed test has relatively good power properties for moderate and large sample sizes.
Objective: The purpose of this studyaimed to investigate the effects of scapular stabilization training using the different exercise prop for impingement syndrome of factory workers. Design: A randomized controlled trial Methods: Twenty shoulder impingement syndrome subjects were randomly divided into two groups of ten subjects each. Inclusion criteria was presence of positive sign in at least two of Neer test, Hawkins test, Yocum test, Jobe test and Speeds test. Andexclusion criteria, those with surgical history of rotator cuff, those with disease in upper limb other than shoulder impingement syndrome, those who took anti-inflammatory drugs over the past 12 months were excluded from the sample. One group was performed scapula stabilization exercise using elastic bands, while dumbbell group performed the exercise using dumbbell. Both groups performed the exercise after applying the general physical therapy. After applying five days a week for a total of six weeks, range of motion of shoulder joint, muscle strength and pain and function level were evaluated. Results: After the intervention, in both groups, all dependent variables at the 6-week post-test significantly improved compared with the pre-test (p<0.05). In addition, elastic band exercise group showed a significant differences in SPADI function score and SPADI total score compared to the dumbbell group(p<0.05). Conclusions: The elastic band training may be effective methodology using low-to-moderate intensity resistance for SPADI scores.

Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the cognitive functions would be correlated with psychotic symptoms and whether antipsychotic treatments would affect the cognitive functions after 8 weeks. Methods : The thirty-five schizophrenic patients were conducted in this study. The psychopathology was measured using PANSS. The memory function, executive function, and sustained attention were measured using Memory Assessment Scale(MAS), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test(WCST), and Vigilance(VIG) and Cognitrone(COG) in Vienna Test System. After 8 weeks of antipsychotic treatment, we retested the cognitive tests. Results : 1) The cognitive tests after the 8 week's treatment showed significant improvements in memory and executive function in the schizophrenic patients. On the other side, sustained attention did not show improvement. 2) The change of PANSS were correlated with perseverative response, perseverative error and total correct in WCST at baseline. WCST scores at baseline were correlated with negative symptoms, but not positive ones. Conclusion : These study suggests that 1) the impaired sustained attention could be a vulnerability marker in schizophrenia, 2) memory & executive function deficit could be reversible after treatment, and 3) medication might have a benefit in improving the cognitive functions in schizophrenia. Furthermore, the data supports that the better premorbid executive function was, the more favorable was the treatment response in schizophrenic patients. Finally, this study indicates that executive function might be an index of treatment improvement.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between preschoolers' motor proficiency and their executive function. Participants were 72 children who participated in individual tests. Motor proficiency was measured by a shortened form of the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition(BOT-2). Executive functions were assessed by utilizing the revised version of the four tasks: 'Day-Night Task', 'Dimensional Change Card Sort Task', 'Lift Flag Task' and 'Digit Span Task'. The major findings were as follows. First, the 5-year-olds motor proficiency was found to be better than the 4-year-olds. Second, the 5-year-olds executive function was found to be better than the 4-yeat-olds. Last, the 4-year-olds' and 5-year-olds' motor proficiency was related to their executive function. Concretely, fine manual control of motor proficiency was executive function and there was a high correlation. And behavior response inhibition and working memory of executive function was motor proficiency and there was a high correlation. Data analysis showed that preschoolers' motor proficiency and their executive function were different by their age level and that preschoolers' motor proficiency was correlated with their executive function.
The aim of this study was to evaluation the effect of Interactive Metronome(IM) training on executive function for stroke patients. Twenty patients with stroke were randomly assigned to experimental group(n=10) or control group(n=10). The patients in the experimental group received IM training with basic rehabilitation and those in the control group received traditional rehabilitation with basic rehabilitation. The patients were assessed before and after intervention using Kims frontal-executive function neuropsychology test II to evaluate executive function. The result of the present study was experimental group demonstrated more increased than control group in stroop interference, word fluency, delayed recall, executive function quotient(EFQ). Therefore, IM training was effective in improving the executive function. It is deemed that IM training can be usefully applied to improve executive function.

Background: Although physical activity is known to be beneficial to lung function, few studies have been conducted to investigate the correlation between physical activity and lung function in dusty areas. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between physical activity and lung function in a Korean cohort including normal and COPD-diagnosed participants. Methods: Data obtained from the COPD in dusty areas (CODA) cohort was analyzed for the following factors: lung function, symptoms, and information about physical activity. Information on physical activity was valuated using questionnaires, and participants were categorized into two groups: active and inactive. The evaluation of the mean lung function, modified Medical Research Council dyspnea grade scores, and COPD assessment test scores was done based on the participant physical activity using a general linear model after adjusting for age, sex, smoking status, pack-years, height, and weight. In addition, a stratification analysis was performed based on the smoking status and COPD. Results: Physical activity had a correlation with high forced expiratory volume in 1 second ($FEV_1$) among CODA cohort (p=0.03). While the active group exhibited significantly higher $FEV_1$ compared to one exhibited by the inactive group among past smokers (p=0.02), no such correlation existed among current smokers. There was no significant difference observed in lung function after it was stratified by COPD. Conclusion: This study established a positive correlation between regular physical activity in dusty areas and lung function in participants.
