Traf4 (Tumor necrosis factor Receptor Associated Factor 4) is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) - associated factors (TRAFs) family. TRAF4 is overexpressed in tumor cells such as breast cancer and associated with cytoskeleton and membrane fraction. Interestingly, TRAF4 was localized with tight junctions (TJs) proteins including OCLN and TJP1 in mammary epithelial cells. However, the expression patterns and biological function of Traf4 were not examined in preimplantation mouse embryos although Traf4-deficient mouse showed embryonic lethality or various dramatic malformation. In this study, we examined the temporal and spatial expression patterns of mouse Traf4 during preimplantation development by qRT-PCR and immunostaining, and its biological function by using siRNA injection. We found upregulation of Traf4 from the 8-cell stage onwards and apical region of cell - cell contact sites at morula and blastocyst embryos. Moreover, Traf4 knockdown led to defective TJs without alteration of genes associated with TJ assembly but elevated p21 expression at the KD morula. Taken together, Traf4 is required for TJs assembly and cell proliferation during morula to blastocyst transition.

GIS based new postal marketing method is presented in this paper with spatiotemporal mining to cope with domestic mail volume decline and to strengthening competitiveness of postal business. Market segmentation technique for socialogy of population and spatiotemporal prediction of consumer propensity to purchase through spatiotemporal multi-dimensional analysis are suggested to provide meaningful and accurate marketing information with customers. Internal postal acceptance & external statistical data of local districts in the Seoul Metropolis are used for the evaluation of geo-lifestyle clustering and spatiotemporal cube mining. Successfully optimal 14 maketing clusters and spatiotemporal patterns are extracted for the prediction of consumer propensity to purchase.
The converge of location-aware devices, GIS functionalities and the increasing accuracy and availability of positioning technologies pave the way to a range of new types of location-based services. The field of spatiotemporal data mining where relationships are defined by spatial and temporal aspect of data is encountering big challenges since the increased search space of knowledge. Therefore, we aim to propose algorithms for mining spatiotemporal patterns in mobile environment in this paper. Moving patterns are generated utilizing two algorithms called All_MOP and Max_MOP. The first one mines all frequent patterns and the other discovers only maximal frequent patterns. Our proposed approach is able to reduce consuming time through comparison with DFS_MINE algorithm. In addition, our approach is applicable to location-based services such as tourist service, traffic service, and so on.

The eukaryotic elongation factor 1 A (EEF1A) participates in protein synthesis by forming the eEF1A GTP tRNA complex to deliver aminoacyl-tRNA to the A site of ribosomes. This study described cDNA sequences and partial genomic structure of porcine EEF1A1. The porcine EEF1A1 gene encoded a protein with 462 amino acids, which shared complete homology with human, chimpanzee and dog. The temporal expression pattern showed the diversity of EEF1A1 level in mRNA was relatively minor in prenatal embryo skeletal muscle, however, the expression decreased during aging after birth in skeletal muscle of the Chinese Tongcheng pig. The spatial expression patterns indicated that the gene expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, lung, liver, kidney, fat and spleen. In addition, we assigned the gene to porcine chromosome 1 using a radiation hybrid panel.
The purpose of this study was to provide experimental evidence and theoretical background for the applicability of bilateral transfer paradigm to the rehabilitation programs for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Children with hemiplegia, which means unilateral motor disabilities, display abnormal motor and postural patterns of the affected side due to hemiparesis, spasticity, and sensory disorders, resulting in a decreased motor abilities of the affected side compared to unaffected side. Accordingly, they tend to rely on the unaffected limb for everyday activities, which further deteriorates the functions of the affected side by causing associated reaction, abnormal postural patterns, and hypertonus. Rehabilitation programs developed for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy include neurodevelopmental treatment, application of cast or splint to unaffected limb, neuromuscular electrical stimulation, and task oriented model. These programs, however, have several drawbacks, such as discontinuity in treatment effect and psychological hatred to the force use of the affected side. In order to solve these problems and enhance the efficiency of the rehabilitation programs, it is required to maximize the use of the affected side without hatred. Characteristics of the control system, such as temporal coupling and spatial assimilation between limbs and neural crosstalk at different levels of central motor pathway, suggest that the bilateral transfer paradigm may enhance the efficiency of the rehabilitation programs for children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
A vertical transect with 4 km length was established for the macrofaunal survey on the Chokchon macrotidal flat in Kyeonggi Bay, Incheon, Korea, 1994. Tidal elevation (m) and sediment mean grain size $(\phi)$ were inversely predicted by the transfer functions from the faunal assemblages. Three methods: weighted average using optimum value (WA), tolerance weighted version of the weighted average (WAT) and maximum likelihood calibration (MLC) were employed. Estimates of tidal elevation and mean grain size obtained by using the three different methods showed positively corresponding trends with the observations. The estimates of MLC were found to have the minimum value of sum of squares due to errors (SSE). When applied to the previous data $(1990\sim1992)$, each of three inference models exhibited high predictive power. This result implied there are visible relationships between species composition and faunas' critical environmental factors. Although a potential significance of the two major abiotic factors was re-affirmed, a weak tendency of biological interaction was detected from faunal distribution patterns across the flat. In comparison to the spatial and temporal patterns of the estimates, it was suggested that sediment characteristics were the primary factors regulating the distribution of macrofaunal assemblages, rather than tidal elevation, and the species composition may be sensitively determined by minute changes in substratum properties on a tidal flat.
This paper examines the spatial and temporal variability in the shoreline boundary caused by artificial structures in Songdo Beach of South Korea. Quickbird Images of 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2010 extracted from Google Earth were used to identify changing trends of shoreline boundary. The most significant changes were observed in area where groins were extensively established, inducing the sand beach much narrower than before in almost 75% of the area($15070.72m^2$ in 2003 to $3877.46m^2$ in 2010). The Google Earth made it possible to identify area-wide patterns of shoreline change subject to many different type of artificial structures, which cannot be acquired by traditional field sampling. Groin heights, lengths and profiles can be modified during maintenance operations if the Google Earth monitoring indicates that the initial layout is not operating properly as a physical barrier to control sediment transport. It is anticipated that this research could be used as a valuable reference to confirm the outputs from past field researches for coastal processes to respond to storms in more visual and quantitative manner.

Spatio-temporal distribution patterns of the major dominant species were assessed from bimonthly monitoring of macrotidal flat in Cheokjeon, Incheon, Korea between September 1990 and July 1992. Overall, macrofauna comprised a total of 111 species, 25,491 inds.136 ㎡. The result of Le Bris index, dominance ranking of the lead-ing species showed that the top 15 species accounting for 74.8% (19,072 inds.) of total density. In Cheokjeon tidal flat, some species were especially habitat-restricted such as genus Nephtys (Annelids; Polychaetes) and Mac-rophthalmus (Crustaceans; Decapods). Based on the density data, the five dominant species were the polychaetes Het-eromastus filiformis, the bivalves Mactra veneriformis and Solen strictus, the brachyurans Macrophthalmus japonicus, the holothuriodeans Protankyra bidentata. The results of one-way ANOVA, mean value of H. filiformis and M. ven-eriformis did not show significant changes with tidal elevation and sediment composition (p>0.05). But, other species (S. strictus, M. japonicus and P. bidentata) showed significant variations (p<0.001). In conclusion, these indicate significant spatial fluctuation with tidal elevation and sediment characteristics in some species.

The paper presents an alternative way to classical stereocorrelation. First, 2D image processing of random patterns is described. Sub-pixel displacements are determined using phase analysis. Then distortion evaluation is presented. The distortion is identified without any assumption on the lens model because of the use of a grid technique approach. Last, shape measurement and shape variation is caught by fringe projection. Analysis is based on two pin-hole assumptions for the video-projector and the camera. Then, fringe projection is coupled to in-plane displacement to give rise to 3D measurement set-up. Metrological characterization shows a resolution comparable to classical (stereo) correlation technique ($1/100^{th}$ pixel). Spatial resolution seems to be an advantage of the method, because of the use of temporal phase stepping (shape measurement, 1 pixel) and windowed Fourier transform (in plane displacements measurement, 9 pixels). Two examples are given. First one is the study of skin properties; second one is a study on leather fabric. In both cases, results are convincing, and have been exploited to give mechanical interpretation.

In this paper, a transient identification based on a Hidden Markov Model (HMM) has been suggested and evaluated experimentally for the classification of transients in the dynamic process. The transient can be identified by its unique time dependent patterns related to the principal variables. The HMM, a double stochastic process, can be applied to transient identification which is a spatial and temporal classification problem under a statistical pattern recognition framework. The HMM is created for each transient from a set of training data by the maximum-likelihood estimation method. The transient identification is determined by calculating which model has the highest probability for the given test data. Several experimental tests have been performed with normalization methods, clustering algorithms, and a number of states in HMM. Several experimental tests have been performed including superimposing random noise, adding systematic error, and untrained transients. The proposed real-time transient identification system has many advantages, however, there are still a lot of problems that should be solved to apply to a real dynamic process. Further efforts are being made to improve the system performance and robustness to demonstrate reliability and accuracy to the required level.
