고온가열 및 하중재하에 따른 80, 130, 180 MPa 초고강도콘크리트의 역학적특성평가 (Evaluation of Properties of 80, 130, 180 MPa High Strength Concrete at High Temperature with Heating and Loading)

  • 콘크리트는 고온에 강한재료로 인식되어 왔으나, 화재 등의 고온에 의해 내부조직의 물리 화학적 변화가 발생해 역학적 특성이 저하하게 된다. 이에, 고온시 콘크리트의 역학적 특성의 저하에 관한 연구보고 및 기준이 제시되고 있다. 그러나 고강도 콘크리트 및 하중을 재하한 상태에 관한 연구데이터는 적다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 고온 및 하중재하에 따른 고강도 콘크리트의 고온특성을 평가하였다. W/B 12.5%, 14.5%, 20%의 고강도 콘크리트를 대상으로 비재하상태 및 $0.25f_{cu}$의 하중조건을 설정하여, 고온시의 응력-변형, 최대하중에서의 변형, 압축강도, 탄성계수, 열팽창변형, 단기 고온크리프을 평가하였다. 실험 결과, 압축강도가 높아질수록 가열에 의한 압축강도의 저하가 크게 나타났고, $500^{\circ}C$이상의 온도에서 고온에 의한 열팽창변형과 하중재하에 의한 수축변형이 상쇄되어 압축강도 및 탄성계수의 잔존율이 높아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this article, frequency characteristics, and sensitivity analysis of a size-dependent laminated composite cylindrical nanoshell under bi-directional thermal loading using Nonlocal Strain-stress Gradient Theory (NSGT) are presented. The governing equations of the laminated composite cylindrical nanoshell in thermal environment are developed using Hamilton's principle. The thermodynamic equations of the laminated cylindrical nanoshell are obtained using First-order Shear Deformation Theory (FSDT) and Fourier-expansion based Generalized Differential Quadrature element Method (FGDQM) is implemented to solve these equations and obtain natural frequency and critical temperature of the presented model. The novelty of the current study is to consider the effects of bi-directional temperature loading and sensitivity parameter on the critical temperature and frequency characteristics of the laminated composite nanostructure. Apart from semi-numerical solution, a finite element model was presented using the finite element package to simulate the response of the laminated cylindrical shell. The results created from finite element simulation illustrates a close agreement with the semi-numerical method results. Finally, the influences of temperature difference, ply angle, length scale and nonlocal parameters on the critical temperature, sensitivity, and frequency of the laminated composite nanostructure are investigated, in details.

외력과 열하중을 동시에 받는 판구조의 열-기계적 특성 (Thermo-Mechanical Characteristics of a Plate Structure under Mechanical and Thermal Loading)

  • 본 연구에서는 외력과 열을 동시에 받는 판구조에 대하여 구조적 강도를 평가하기 위하여 열응력 해석 및 열기계적 실험을 수행하였다. 초음속 비행체의 날개 유사 모델인 판구조에 대한 열 및 외력 환경구현을 위하여 석영램프를 이용한 복사가열기와 하중부가 시스템을 사용하였으며, 소성을 가미한 탄소성 유한요소 해석을 병행하여 열기계적 거동을 파악하였다. 시험은 외력 유지 상태에서 일정 온도 유지환경과 10 ℃/sec의 가열률 환경하에서 이루어졌다. 해석 및 실험에 의한 결과들을 이용하여 가열환경에 따른 구조물의 거동 특성을 파악하였으며, 상온에서의 구조강도 결과와 비교 고찰하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 초음속 비행체와 같이 외력과 열 환경을 경험하는 구조물에 대한 실험 및 해석적 방법을 제시하였고, 획득된 자료들은 비행체 내열 구조 설계시 열적 강도 판단의 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Experimental research on vertical mechanical performance of embedded through-penetrating steel-concrete composite joint in high-temperature gas-cooled reactor pebble-bed module

  • The high-temperature gas-cooled reactor pebble-bed module project is the first commercial Generation-IV NPP(Nuclear Power Plant) in China. A new joint is used for the vertical support of RPV(Reactor Pressure Vessel). The steel corbel is integrally embedded into the reactor-cabin wall through eight asymmetrically arranged pre-stressed high-strength bolts, achieving the different path transmission of shear force and moment. The vertical monotonic loading test of two specimens is conducted. The results show that the failure mode of the joint is bolt fracture. There is no prominent yield stage in the whole loading process. The stress of bolts is linearly distributed along the height of corbel at initial loading. As the load increases, the height of neutral axis of bolts gradually decreases. The upper and lower edges of the wall opening contact the corbel plate to restrict the rotation of the corbel. During the loading, the pre-stress of some bolts decreases. The increase of the pre-stress strength ratio of bolts has no noticeable effect on the structure stiffness, but it reduces the ultimate bearing capacity of the joint. A simplified calculation model for the elastic stage of the joint is established, and the estimation results are in good agreement with the experimental results.

  • The present study focuses on the effect of geometrical discontinuity, strength mismatch, which can elevate plastic constraint due to heterogeneous plastic straining, and loading rate on the ductile crack initiation using two-parameter criterion. Fracture initiation testing has been conducted under static and dynamic loading using circumferentially notched round-bar specimens. In order to evaluate the stress/strain state in the specimens, especially under dynamic loading, a thermal elastic-plastic dynamic finite element (FE) analysis considering the temperature rise due to plastic deformation has been carried out.

초음속 비행체 구조재료에 대한 열기계적 특성 (Thermomechanical Characteristics for Structural Material of Supersonic Vehicle)

  • The thermomechanical characteristics were evaluated for 17-4PH stainless steel widely used in supersonic airframe subjected to both aerodynamic loading and heating. The thermomechanical tests were conducted under both elevated temperature and rapid heating condition from $1^{\circ}C/sec\;to\;28^{\circ}C/sec$. The thermomechanical behaviors under rapid heating were compared with those of elevated temperature after 1/2 hour exposure in terms of yield stress to investigate the influence of heating rates. A heating rate-yield temperature parameter was suggested for rapid heating based on time-temperature parameters, and master yield stress curve was obtained by using these parameters. The experimental results and methodology from this study can be used as basic engineering data when designing supersonic vehicle structures subjected to aerodynamic loading and severe heating environment.

리튬이온 이차전지용 고로딩 양극 제조공정에서 건조온도의 영향에 대한 연구 (Impact of Drying Temperature in High-Loading Positive Electrode Fabrication Process for Lithium-ion Batteries)

  • 리튬이온 전지의 전극제조 공정 중에서 건조공정은 생산속도 및 공정비용의 측면에서 매우 중요하다. 특히 전지의 에너지 밀도를 높이기 위하여 전극의 로딩레벨이 증가하게 됨에 따라 전극건조의 공정변수의 조정은 더욱 큰 주목을 받게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 양극에서의 건조온도를 다르게 하여 전극의 건조시간 및 그 성능에 대하여 비교하였다. LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 (NCM622)를 양극 활물질로 사용하고 2.5 및 4.5 mAh cm-2의 로딩레벨에서, 건조온도는 120 ℃에서 210 ℃까지 다양한 건조온도 조건에서 제조되었다. 이와 같이 제조된 전극들의 물리적 및 전기화학적 특성을 비교하였다. 전극의 로딩레벨이 증가함에 따라 전극의 건조시간은 증가하였으나, 건조온도를 높이게 되면 시간을 줄일 수 있다. NCM622 양극의 제조 과정에서 사용된 건조 온도는 전극의 전기화학적 성능에 큰 영향을 미치지 않았으나, 210 ℃ 이상의 건조에서는 비저항의 증가 및 전기화학적 성능의 저하가 발생하였다. 이에 고로딩 전극의 제조에 있어 건조온도를 190 ℃까지 높여 성능의 손실없이 전극의 제조시간을 단축할 수 있다.

EVALUATION AND TEST OF A CRACK INITIATION FOR A 316 SS CYLINDRICAL Y-JUNCTION STRUCTURE IN A LIQUID METAL REACTOR

  • A liquid metal reactor (LMR) operated at high temperatures is subjected to both cyclic mechanical loading and thermal loading; thus, creep-fatigue is a major concern to be addressed with regard to maintaining structural integrity. The Korea Advanced Liquid Metal Reactor (KALIMER), which has a normal operating temperature of $545^{\circ}C$ and a total service life time of 60 years, is composed of various cylindrical structures, such as the reactor vessel and the reactor baffle. This study focuses on the creepfatigue crack initiation for a cylindrical Y-junction structure made of 316 stainless steel (SS), which is subjected to cyclic axial tensile loading and thermal loading at a high-temperature hold time of $545^{\circ}C$. The evaluation of the considered creep-fatigue crack initiation was carried out utilizing the ${\sigma}_d$ approach of the RCC-MR A16 guide, which is the high-temperature defect assessment procedure. This procedure is based on the total accumulated strain during the service time. To confirm the evaluated result, a high-temperature creep-fatigue structural test was performed. The test model had a circumferential through wall defect at the center of the model. The defect front of the test model was investigated after the $100^{th}$ cycle of the testing by utilizing a metallurgical inspection technique with an optical microscope, after which the test result was compared with the evaluation result. This study shows how creep-fatigue crack initiation for a high-temperature structure can be predicted with conservatism per the RCC-MR A16 guide.

촉매 담지 조건의 변화에 따른 초소형 추력기의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of a Micro Thruster with variation of catalyst loading condition)

  • 초소형 추력기의 최적화를 위한 연구로 촉매 담지 조건을 변화시키면서 성능 평가를 실시하였다. 촉매의 담지 조건 중 촉매 전구체를 용해시키는 전해물질의 산성도를 변화시켰다. 또한 각각의 경우에 대해 건조 조건을 달리하면서 이에 따른 성능 평가를 실시하였다. 이를 통해 촉매 담지 조건이 추력기 성능에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 추진제로는 90wt% 과산화수소를 사용하였으며, 높은 분해성능을 보이는 백금을 촉매로 사용하였다. 초소형 추력기의 목표 추력은 0.1N이며 성능 평가를 위해서 특성속도 효율과 온도 효율을 사용하기로 하였다.

Design thermal loading for composite bridges in tropical region

  • In the design of bridges, it is important to consider the thermal stresses induced by the non-linear temperature distribution as well as the variation of effective temperature in the bridge deck. To cope with this, design temperature profiles are provided by design codes, which are normally based on extensive research work. This paper presents the results of a comprehensive investigation on the thermal behaviour of bridges in Hong Kong with special emphasis on composite bridges. The temperature distribution in bridges depends primarily on the solar radiation, ambient air temperature and wind speed in the vicinity. Apart from data of the meteorological factors, good estimates of the thermal properties of material and the film coefficients are necessary for the prediction of temperature distribution. The design temperature profiles for various types of composite bridge deck with bituminous surfacing and concrete slab of different thicknesses are proposed. The factors affecting the design effective temperature are also reviewed and suitable values for Hong Kong are proposed. Results are compared with recommendations of the current local code. The method facilitates the development of site-specific temperature profiles for code documents, and it can also be applied to create zoning maps for temperature loading for large countries where there are great climatic differences.
