Various types of NOx storage catalysts for NGV's were designed, manufactured, and tested in this work on a model gas test bench. As in most of other studies on NOx storage catalyst, alkaline earth metal barium(Ba) was used as the NOx adsorbing substance. The barium-based experimental catalysts were designed to contain different amounts of Ba and precious metals at various ratios. Reaction tests were performed to investigate the NOx storage capacity and the NOx conversion efficiency of the experimental catalysts. From the results, it was found that when Ba loading of a catalyst was increased, the quantity of NOx stored in the catalyst increased in the high temperature range over 350. With more Ba deposition, the NOx conversion efficiency as well as its peak value increased in the high temperature range, but decreased in the low temperature range. The best of de-NOx catalyst tested in this study was catalyst B, which was loaded with 42.8 g/L of Ba in addition to Pt, Pd and Rh in the ratio of 7:7:1. In the low temperature range under $450^{\circ}C$, the NOx conversion efficiencies of the catalysts were lower when $CH_4$, instead of either $C_3H_6$ or $C_3H_8$, was used as the reductant.

The thermal degradation of carbon fiber reinforced phenolic composites have been studied at high temperature by using thermogravimetry analysis (TGA). The aim is that ultimately it can be used to predict the service temperature during solid rocket firing for any level and type of mechanical loading and to recommend protection systems required. To simulate the high heating rate in firing condition, the modified thermal decomposition constant (1000 K/min) was used for FEM analysis. The temperature distribution and the thickness of thermal decomposition were estimated well and we could predict the thickness of thermal decomposition within ${\pm}1mm$.
The thermal properties of wood flour, Hwangto, and maleated polyethylene (MAPE) reinforced HDPE composites were investigated in this study. The thermal behavior of reinforced wood polymer composites was characterized by means of thermogravimetric (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) analyses. Hwangto and MAPE were used as an inorganic filler and a coupling agent, respectively. According to TGA analysis, the increase of wood flour level increased the thermal degradation of composites in the early stage, but decreased in the late stage. On the other hand, Hwangto reinforced composites showed the higher thermal stability than virgin HDPE, from the determination of differential peak temperature ($DT_p$). Decomposition temperature of wood flour and/or Hwangto reinforced composites increased with increase of heating rate. From DSC analysis, melting temperature of reinforced composites little bit increased with the addition of wood flour or Hwangto. As the loading of wood flour or Hwangto to HDPE increased, overall enthalpy decreased. It showed that wood flour and Hwangto absorbed more heat energy for melting the reinforced composites. Hwangto reinforced composites required more heat energy than wood flour reinforced composites and virgin HDPE. Coupling agent gave no significant effect on the thermal properties of composites. Thermal analyses indicate that composites with Hwangto are more thermally stable than those without Hwangto.
There has been considerable research in recent times in light-timber med structures in fires. These structures have included horizontal (floor-like) panels in bending and walls under eccentric and approximately concentric vertical loading. It has been shown that compression properties are the most dominant mechanical properties in affecting structural response of these structures in fire. Compression properties have been obtained by various means as functions of one variable only, temperature. It has always been expected that compression properties would be significantly affected by moisture and stress, as well. However, these variables have been largely ignored to simplify the complex problem of predicting the response of light-timber framed structures in fire. Full-scale experiments on both the panels and walls have demonstrated the high level of significance of moisture and stress for a limited range of conditions. Described in this paper is an overview of these conditions and experiments undertaken to obtain compression properties as a functions of moisture, stress and temperature. The experiments limited temperatures to $20{\sim}100^{\circ}C$. At higher temperatures moisture vaporizes and moisture and stress are less significant. Described also is a creep model for wood at high temperatures.
$V_{2}O_{5}/TiO_{2}$ catalysts promoted with Mn were prepared and tested for selective catalytic reduction of NOx in $NH_3.$ The effects of promoter content, degree of catalyst loading were investigated for NOx activity while changing temperatures, mole ratio, space velocity and $O_2$ concentration. Among the various $V-{2}O_{5}$ catalysts having different metal loadings, $V-{2}O_{5}$(1 wt.%) catalyst showed the highest activity(98%) under wide temperature range of $200-250^{\circ}C.$ When the $V-{2}O_{5}$ catalyst was further modified with 5 wt.% Mn as a promoter, the highest activity(90-47%) was obtained over the low temperature windows of $100-200^{\circ}C.$ From Mn-$V_{2}O_{5}/TiO_{2}$, it was found that by addition of 5 wt.% Mn on $V_{2}O_{5}/TiO_{2}$ catalyst, reduction activity of catalyst was improved, which resulted in the increase of catalytic activity and NOx reduction. According to the results, NOx removal decreased for 10%, but the reaction temperature down to $100^{\circ}C.$

The effects of aging of PSF/AS4 laminates on fatigue was studied using the new energy release rate analysis. The analysis by the variational mechanics has been useful in providing fracture mechanics interpretation of matrix microcracking in cross-ply laminates. This paper describes the changes of the critical energy release rate (microcracking toughness) according to the aging period under fatigue loading. The master plot by modified Paris-law gives a characterization of a material system's resistance to microcrack formation. PSF $[0/90_{s}]_{s}$ laminates were aged at four different temperature based on the glass transition temperature for 0 to 60 days. At all temperatures, the toughness decreased with aging time. The decrease of the toughness at higher temperature was faster than at lower temperature. To assess the effects of aging on fatigue, the unaged laminates were compared with the laminates which had been aged for 60 days at 170$^{\circ}C$ near 180 $^{\circ}C$ t$_g$. The slope of dD/dN versus ${\Delta}G_m$. of the aged laminates was lower than that of the unaged laminates. There was a significant shift of the aged data to formation of microcracks at the lower values of ${\Delta}G_m$.
In this paper, post-buckling behavior of sandwich plates with functionally graded (FG) face sheets under uniform temperature rise loading is examined based on both sinusoidal shear deformation theory and stress function. It is supposed that the sandwich plate is in contact with an elastic foundation during deformation, which acts in both compression and tension. Thermo-elastic non-homogeneous properties of FG layers change smoothly by the variation of power law within the thickness, and temperature dependency of material constituents is considered in the formulation. In the present development, Von Karman nonlinearity and initial geometrical imperfection of sandwich plate are also taken into account. By employing Galerkin method, analytical solutions of thermal buckling and post-buckling equilibrium paths for simply supported plates are determined. Numerical examples presented in the present study discuss the effects of gradient index, sandwich plate geometry, geometrical imperfection, temperature dependency, and the elastic foundation parameters.
The finite element solutions of thermal buckling load values of the graded sandwich curved shell structure are reported in this research using a higher-order kinematic model including the shear deformation effect. The numerical buckling temperature has been computed using an in-house specialized code (MATLAB environment) prepared in the framework of the current mathematical formulation. In addition, the mathematical model includes the excess structural distortion under the influence of elevated environment via Green-Lagrange nonlinear strain. The corresponding eigenvalue equation has been solved to predict the critical buckling temperature of the graded sandwich structure. The numerical stability and the accuracy of the current solution have been confirmed by comparing with the available published results. Thereafter, the model is extended to bring out the influences of structural parameters i.e. the curvature ratio, core-face thickness ratio, support conditions, power-law indices and sandwich types on the thermal buckling behavior of graded sandwich curved shell panels.

Thick-film photolithography is a new technology that combines lithography processes, such as exposure and development, with the conventional thick-film process applied to screen-printing. In this study, we developed a low-temperature cofireable silver paste applicable for thick-film processing to form fine lines using photolitho-graphic technologies. The optimum paste composition for forming fine lines was investigated. The effect of processing parameters, such as the exposing dose, had on the fine-line resolution was also investigated. As the result, we found that the type of polymer and monomer, the silver powder loading, and the amount of photoinitiator were the main factors affecting the resolution of the fine lines. The developed photoimageable silver paste was printed on a low-temperature cofireable green sheet, dried, exposed, developed in an aqueous process, laminated, and then fired. Our results demonstrate that thick-film fine lines having widths < 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ can be obtained after cofiring.
Analysis of the internal state of the blast furnace is necessary to predict and to control the operating conditions. Especially, it is important to develop models of the blast furnace to predict the cohesive zone because shape of the cohesive zone influences overall operating conditions of blast furnace such as gas flow, chemical reactions and temperature. Because many previous blast furnace models have assumed cohesive zone to be fixed, it was not possible to evaluate the shape change of cohesive zone in relation with operating conditions such as PCR, blast condition, and production rate. In this study, an axi-symmetric 2-dimensional steady state model is proposed to simulate blast furnace processes. In this model, cohesive zone is determined by the solid temperature. Finite volume method is employed for numerical simulation. To find location of the cohesive zone, entire calculation procedure is iterated until converged. Through this approach, shape of the cohesive zone, velocity and temperature within the furnace are predicted from the model.
