  • Inside the vehicle, temperature and humidity are suddenly changed. Accordingly, HVAC System's temperature control is very complicated. But, clarifying the relationship between temperature and humidity can reduce the control parameters. Therefore, this paper describes the relationship between temperature and humidity in the vehicle and presents a problem solving method in terms of control technologyThe vehicle sensor monitors the factors required for vehicle control and plays a role in enabling optimal control from the obtained information. Of these sensors, the driving environment of the driver is determined by the temperature and humidity inside the vehicle, and the characteristics of the vehicle suddenly change rapidly. Accordingly, HVAC System's temperature control is very complicated. But, clarifying the relationship between temperature and humidity can reduce the control parameters. Therefore, this paper describes the relationship between the temperature and humidity in the vehicle, and presents a method for controlling the temperature and humidity in the vehicle as an example.

  • Energy analysis for the hot water heating control system of apartment house complex is accomplished by computer simulation. Mathematical model of a boiler, pipe network and a unit-house is developed. The effects of heating control methods on the heating performance and energy consumption of the system are investigated. The heating control methods considered in this study are a continuous heating control, and on-off heating control and an intermittent heating control methods. For each control method, the effects of an outdoor temperature, indoor temperature sensing position and the capacities of the boilers and circulating pumps on the heating performance and energy consumption are obtained and "the best" control method is recommended.commended.

  • This work deals with description of gas purifing system to product high pure helium gas using low temperature absorption. The system controls temperature of heaters, open/close of solenoid valves and levels of liquid nitrogen to purify a raw gas and continuously products purified gas with perfoming alternatively purification and regeneration. We develop the monitoring and control program to monitor the gas purification process on real-time and control the process time with checking the impurities in purified gas. From the result of system operation, the developed monitoring and control system continuously products high pure helium gas with reducing impurities in raw gas to permitted limits(less than 0.01 ~ 0.05 ppm)

  • A Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system is a nonlinear multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system. This system is very difficult to control the temperature and the humidity ratio of a thermal space because of complex nonlinear characteristics. This paper proposes an adaptive fuzzy output feedback control based on observer for the nonlinear HVAC system. The nonlinear HVAC system is linearized through dynamic extension. State observers are designed for estimating state variables of the HVAC system. Fuzzy systems are employed to approximate uncertain nonlinear functions of the HVAC system with unavailable state variables. The obtained controller compares with an adaptive feedback controller. Simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed adaptive fuzzy method.

  • In this paper, we implemented the neuro-computer called MY-NEUPOWER in our research to carry out the artificial neural networks (ANN) calculating. An application software was developed based on a neural network using back-propagation (BP) algorithm under the UNIX platform by the specified computer language named MYPARAL. This neural network model was used as an auxiliary controller in the temperature control of sinter cooler system in steel plant which is a nonlinear system. The neural controller was trained off-line using the real input-output data as training pairs. We also made the system description of adaptive neural controller on the same temperature control system. We will carry out the whole system simulation to verify the suitability of neural controller in improving the system features.

  • Catalytic combustion known as one of the traditional oxidation methods of VOC gas is restricted to its applicable fields because of its reaction characteristics. But recently innovative improvement of catalytic endurance makes its applicable range broader from MEMs to industrial power generation. Therefore, control technologies based on the catalytic combustion characteristics are researched and developed dynamically. Especially, the stable control of catalytic combustion is an essential factor in a view of maximizing its efficiency. In this research, the fuel equivalence ratio and the preheating temperature of mixture gas is controlled by catalytic combustion system enhanced in heat transfer with high temperature heat exchanger. As a result, the combustion characteristics of system was investigated, and both passive and active control type were compared and analyzed.

  • This paper presents a constant power control logic for perfect starting a microtubine in vehicle. Under extremely low temperature, performance of the start-up system is severely dropped than that of room temperature because of increasing of load of mechanical parts including engine core and drop of the lead-acid battery capacity. Unfortunately, performance drop of lead-acid battery makes severe problems that cause a malfunction of fuel and lubrication system and power fail of digital devices. So we propose the new start-up logic by constant output power control of lead-acid battery using PWM inverter controller for preventing above problems and keeping good performance of start-up system for microturbine. Also, we prove usefulness of new start-up logic through experimental results under $-32^{\circ}C$ ambient temperature.

  • Purpose: In this study, we examined outdoor air fraction using historical data of actual Air Handling Unit (AHU) in the existing building during intermediate season and analyzed optimal outdoor air fraction by control types for economizer. Method: Control types for economizer which was used in analysis are No Economizer(NE), Differential Dry-bulb Temperature(DT), Diffrential Enthalpy(DE), Differential Dry-bulb Temperature+Differential Enthalpy(DTDE), and Differential Enthalpy+Differential Dry-bulb Temperature (DEDT). In addition, the system heating and cooling load were analyzed by calculating the outdoor air fraction through existing AHU operating method and control types for economizer. Result: Optimized outdoor air fraction through control types was the lowest in March and distribution over 50% was shown in May. In case of DE control type, outdoor air fraction was the highest of other control types and the value was average 63% in May. System heating load was shown the lowest value in NE, however, system cooling load was shown 1.7 times higher than DT control type and 5 times higher than DE control type. For system heating load, DT and DTDE is similar during intermediate season. However, system cooling load was shown 3 times higher than DE and DEDT. Accordingly, it was found as the method to save cooling energy most efficiently with DE control considering enthalpy of outdoor air and return air in intermediate season.

  • The present study concerns the numerical simulation of a supply airflow control in a variable air volume (VAY) system. A stratified thermal model (multi-zone model) is suggested to predict a local thermal response of an air-conditioned space. The effects of various thermal parameters such as the cooling system capacity, the thermal mass of an air-conditioned space, the time delay of thermal effect, and the building envelope heat transmission are investigated. Further, the influence of control parameters such as the supply air temperature, the PI control factor and the thermostat location on a VAV system is quantitatively delineated. The results obtained show that the previous homogeneous lumped thermal model (single zone model) may overestimate the time taken to the set point temperature. It is also found that there exist the appropriate ranges of the control parameters for the optimal airflow control of the VAV system.

  • Performance of a hydraulic system is influenced by its working temperature. Therefore, it is very important to make the system perform uniformly in an entire range of the working temperature. In this study a simulation of a hydraulic control system for the powershift transmission of tractors was conducted and the effect of the temperature was investigated in terms of design conditions of the system. Results of the simulation are as follows. The hydraulic control system with a spring accumulator was found to be more convenient to control the shifting time than that with a gas accumulator. By returning the oil from the clutches to the system through a path between the filter and pump, the time delay due to the pressure difference between the low and high temperatures could be reduced. Therefore, it was recommended that the hydraulic control system for the powershift transmission of tractors must be equipped with a spring accumulator and a circuit to return oil from the clutches to the system through a path between the filter and pump.
