Hydraulic excavators have been popular devices in construction field because of its multi-workings and economic efficiency. The mathematical models of excavators have many nonlinearities because of nonlinear opening characteristics and dead zone of main control valve, oil temperature variation, etc. The objective of this paper is to develop a simulator for hydraulic excavator using AMESim. Components and whole circuit are expressed graphically. Parameters and nonlinear characteristics are inputted in text style. The simulator can be used to forecast excavator behavior when new components, new mechanical attachments, hydraulic circuit changes, and new control algorithm are applied. The simulator could be a kind of development platform for various new excavators.
We developed the portable blood analysis system, which can be measured pH of the blood. This system is composed to electronic circuit, mechanism, and system software. Electronic circuit is composed to the sensor, pre-amp part, temperature regulation part, fluid sensing part, A/D(analog to digital) conversion part, main and peripheral device processing part. And the mechanism is composed to the flow cell and the liquid flow part. The liquid flow part is consisted of blood and washing control system under the control of the 6-channel solenoid valve and syringe rump. The system software is composed to measurement program, calibration program, washing and diagnostic program. The program of each routine is designed as sequential process for an efficiency. And the portable pH analysis system used two-point calibration method using the two types of corrective liquid. As a result, we obtained the calibration curve and calculated the value of pH. For verifying the system, we confirmed the output voltage of the sensor, and estimated reappearance of system using the standard liquid.

We propose a pixel-level automatic calibration circuit scheme that initializes a capacitive fingerprint sensor LSI to eliminate the influence of the surface condition and environment, which is degraded by dirt during long-time use, process variation and ambient temperature. The sample chip is fabricated on $0.35{\mu}m$ standard CMOS process. The calibration is executed by optimizing the reference voltage in each pixel to make the sensor signals of all pixels the same. The calibration control circuit is composed of the sensing circuit and charge pumping circuit, and calibrates all pixels in a short time. 16-level gray scale fingerprint images can be captured to increase the accuracy of identification. This confirms that the scheme is effective for capturing consistent clear images during long-time use.

Currently high power Light Emitting Diode (LED) is in the limelight due to its characteristics of long durability, low maintenance costs, and high efficiency. Furthermore, it does not emit pollutants or poisonous gases and is a light source not using mercury, so it holds a high status in eco-friendly terms as well. In this paper, we studied a two-stage LED power drive circuit that can compensate only voltage regulation through LED output current, in order to improve efficiency of LED drive with constant current control in accordance with changes in temperature. The proposed LED drive has an advantage of reducing LED drive's voltage losses by controlling only voltage change of input power, compared with an existing circuit which controls input voltage. The suggested non-insulation compensating circuit for voltage change was verified to have improved efficiency relative to a LED drive using existing DC/DC converter.
We designed and developed a multi-purpose CCD camera system for three kinds of CCDs; KAF-0401E($768{\times}512$), KAF-1602E($1536{\times}1024$), KAF-3200E($2184{\times}1472$) made by KODAK Co.. The system supports fast USB port as well as parallel port for data I/O and control signal. The packing is based on two stage circuit boards for size reduction and contains built-in filter wheel. Basic hardware components include clock pattern circuit, A/D conversion circuit, CCD data flow control circuit, and CCD temperature control unit. The CCD temperature can be controlled with accuracy of approximately $0.4^{\circ}C$ in the max. range of temperature, ${\Delta}33^{\circ}C$. This CCD camera system has with readout noise $6\;e^-$, and system gain $5\;e^-/ADU$. A total of 10 CCD camera systems were produced and our tests show that all of them show passable performance.
To convert the analog signal from the drying process into the digital signal, the interface circuit was designed and built. To measure the weight and temperature during drying process, strain gauge type load cell and temperature transducer composed of pt 100 $\Omega$ thermometers and wheatstone bridge circuits were built and used. The temperature control device was composed of photocoupler and triac. Microcomputer aided experimental convective drying system was built with above cricuits and devices. Drying characteristics of onions can be estimated using this system.

Measurement errors in a digital measurement systems are mainly due to the consisting elements accuracies and the circuit parameters changes following the environment variations such as temperature. Further, systems non-linearity makes the measurement accuracy worse, and accordingly a linearization method should be considered to avoid this worsening. In this study, a temperature error-correction method and linearization methods are proposed and a digital temperature measurement system utilizing these methods is realized. And the proposed measurement methods are observed to increase the measurement accuracy of the digital measurement system.
Microwatt power level at relatively high voltage(order of volt) was produced by $Bi_{0.5}Sb_{1.5}Te_{3}/Bi_{2}Te_{2.4}Se_{0.6}$ thin film thermoelectric generators, and maximum output power varied with temperature difference in the square-law relation. Output voltage and current were possible to control by changing the way of electrical connection as well as the number of stacking plate-modules. Variation of open circuit voltage and short circuit current with temperature difference showed a linear relationship. There were, however, some differences in variations; open circuit voltage were dependent on the number of plate-module when connected in series, but it was not for parallel connection. On the other hand, short circuit current showed the opposite behavior to the case of open circuit current.

Recently, the development of superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) has been required as power demands increase in the power system. A distribution-level prototype resistive SFCL using coated conductor (CC) has been developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and Yonsei University for the first time in the world. The ratings of the SFCL are 13.2kV/630A at normal operating condition. A novel non-inductive winding method is used in fabricating coils so there is almost zero impedance during normal operation. The distribution SFCL is cooled by sub-cooled liquid nitrogen $(LN_2)$ of 65K and 3 bar to enhance cryo-dielectric performance, critical current density, and thermal conductivity. In order to make reliable operation of an SFCL in real power systems, we monitored and controled its operation conditions by using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) method. Thus, a monitoring system for the SFCL employing information technology (IT) is proposed and developed to be on the lookout for the operation conditions such as inside temperature, inside pressure, $LN_2$ level, voltage and current. Since operation temperature should be kept constant, bang-bang control for temperature feedback with a heater attached to the cold head of cryo-cooler is applied to the system. Short-circuit tests with prospective fault current of 10kA and AC dielectric withstand voltage tests up to 143kV for 1 minute were successfully performed at Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute. This paper deals with the development of a distribution level SFCL and its monitoring system for reliable operation.
This paper discusses heat problem of IC, which composes the electronic instruments, to guarantee reliability of electronic instruments. And also proposes the unified equivalent model for various electronic instrument products to guarantee reliability and life of its parts. Because electronic instruments are down sizing and operated with high frequency, the internal temperature of electronic instruments is rising steadily. The internal temperature of the electronic instruments gives a big effect to electronic instrument's reliability and life. The semiconductor parts are the representative heat generation parts because of its complicated function, high frequency and high density. Consequently, guaranteeing reliability and life of electronic semiconductor is the important start point in securing the reliability and life of the electronic instrument product. Unfortunately, there are many factors, which affect heat dissipation efficiency. The heat dissipation efficiency follows the environment where the electronic instrument products are used. Therefore it is very difficult to define reliability and life of the electronic manufactures. Electronic instrument products are composed of printed circuit board (PCB), integrated circuit (IC), resistance, and capacitor and so on. And there are superposed thermal resistances, because the parts are arrayed on the printed circuit board (PCB), Therefore the total thermal resistance is variable. Consequently it cannot have same thermal model for each electronic instrument products. In the next part, we propose the unified equivalent model for various electronic instruments. And using the proposed equivalent model proofs the method for analysis reliability of electronic parts.
