A Study on Technophobia and Mobile Device Design

  • Technophobia is described as the 'abnormal fear or anxiety about the effects of advanced technology', affecting one third of the population, causing health problems and the inability to work efficiently. The development of the mobile phone, both in its design process and its following socioeconomic success, has a prominent effect on our society in general; this point will be explicated in this paper. The negative effects of these developments have also been assessed with questionnaire-based interviews, focus groups and media analysis in order to focus on those who are most susceptible to the effects of technophobia, to discover the possible causes and to develop a solution for overcoming the phobia. The findings of the literature review and empirical research have been debated; the results proved inconclusive. All age and sex and groups displayed levels of anxiety around technology. Therefore, designers cannot afford to abandon these individuals in the future, and attention should be directed into inclusive product design. Therefore, various solutions have been suggested for support for these sufferers, such as tuition and bespoke, 'built to specification' mobile phones.

  • The use of cultured meat, also known as in vitro meat, is claimed to be a way of meeting the growing demand for meat worldwide in a safe and disease-free manner, without sacrificing animal and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. However, its economic feasibility is limited by its cost, scale-up complexity, public neophobia and technophobia, and an imperfect knowledge of its impacts on human health. Cultured meat, which is obtained from stem cells using tissue engineering techniques, has been described as a potential alternative to the current meat production systems, which have extensive negative effects. To ensure that a food product is safe for human consumption, it is important to consider all aspects of its life cycle. In this context, the current review analyzes the major elements of the cultured meat life cycle, including the incorrect use of chemicals, such as pesticides or antibiotics, as well as improper processing and storage methods that determine the food safety of cultured meat. The purpose of this review is to determine food safety, health issues, and the potential risks associated with cultured meat production.

  • With the emergence of generative AI, a new era of coexistence with humanity has begun. The vast data-driven learning capabilities of AI are being utilized in various industries to achieve a level of productivity distinct from human learning. However, AI also manifests societal phenomena such as technophobia. This study aims to analyze collaborative AI models based on an understanding of AI and identify areas within the jewelry industry where these models can be applied. The utilization of collaborative AI models can lead to the acceleration of idea development, enhancement of design capabilities, increased productivity, and the internalization of multimodal functions. Ultimately, AI should be used as a collaborative tool from a utilitarian perspective, which requires a proactive, human-centric mindset. This research proposes collaborative AI strategies for the jewelry business, hoping to enhance the industry's competitiveness.
