  • Background: This study aimed to identify the present level and needs of clinical dental hygienists and to present the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model as integrated priorities. Methods: The participants of this study were dental hygienists working in dental clinics (hospitals). The final data of the 194 participants were analyzed using frequency analysis and a paired sample t-test. To analyze the need for clinical dental hygienists to perform work, the Borich priority determination formula was used. The x-y plane consisting of four quadrants was used to analyze the need using the locus for focus model, which helps to determine the priority while showing visual effects. Results: "Scaling" was the highest required level for clinical dental hygienists, and "panorama taking" was the highest present level. The priorities of educational needs were systematically and visually derived from dental hygienists who were currently working through the Borich needs assessment and the locus for focus model for each task performed in the clinical field. Through the priorities of these two models, a total of 13 items appeared in the common high-level area; "oral health care (disability)," "oral health care (systemic disease)," "applying a rubber dam," "professional mechanical tooth cleaning," "root planing," "taking vital signs," "medication counseling," "wire cutting," "removing cement after removing band/bracket," "delivering bracket," "preparing mini-screw implantation," "dental insurance claim," and "patient reception." Conclusion: Based on the results, the department of dental hygiene should maintain and improve the standardized clinical practice curriculum and clinical dental hygienists' practical skills and contribute to the realization of the legal scope of dental hygienists, reflecting the requirements of clinical fields.

  • We compared a novel encoding Lempel-Ziv complexity (ELZC) with three common complexity algorithms i.e., approximate entropy (ApEn), sample entropy (SampEn), and classic Lempel-Ziv complexity (CLZC) so as to determine a satisfied complexity and its corresponding quality indices for assessing quality of multi-lead electrocardiogram (ECG). First, we calculated the aforementioned algorithms on six artificial time series in order to compare their performance in terms of discerning randomness and the inherent irregularity within time series. Then, for analyzing sensitivity of the algorithms to content level of different noises within the ECG, we investigated their change trend in five artificial synthetic noisy ECGs containing different noises at several signal noise ratios. Finally, three quality indices based on the ELZC of the multi-lead ECG were proposed to assess the quality of 862 real 12-lead ECGs from the MIT databases. The results showed the ELZC could discern randomness and the inherent irregularity within six artificial time series, and also reflect content level of different noises within five artificial synthetic ECGs. The results indicated the AUCs of three quality indices of the ELZC had statistical significance (>0.500). The ELZC and its corresponding three indices were more suitable for multi-lead ECG quality assessment than the other three algorithms.

  • The software is changed according to the changing businesses and the user requirement, it involves increasing complexity and cost. Considering the repetitive changes required for the software, replacement is more efficient than maintenance at some point. In this study, the replacement time was predicted using the service dissatisfaction index and replacement point assessment index by the software group for each task. First, fuzzy inference was used to develop the method and indicator for the user's service level dissatisfaction. Second, the replacement point assessment method was established considering the quality, costs, and new technology of the software. Third, a replacement time prediction technique that used the gap between the user service measurement and replacement point assessment values was proposed. The results of the case study with the business solutions of three organizations, which was conducted to verify the validity of the proposed prediction technique in this study, showed that the service dissatisfaction index decreased by approximately 16% and the replacement point assessment index increased by approximately 9%.

  • Offshore wind turbines are complex structural and mechanical systems located in a highly demanding environment. This paper proposes a multi-level system approach for studying the structural behavior of the support structure of an offshore wind turbine. In accordance with this approach, a proper numerical modeling requires the adoption of a suitable technique in order to organize the qualitative and quantitative assessment in various sub-problems, which can be solved by means of sub-models at different levels of detail, both for the structural behavior and for the simulation of loads. Consequently, in a first place, the effects on the structural response induced by the uncertainty of the parameters used to describe the environmental actions and the finite element model of the structure are inquired. After that, a meso-level FEM model of the blade is adopted in order to obtain the detailed load stress on the blade/hub connection.

  • The main aim of this study is to quantify the code seismic design coefficients of the RCS system, which consisted of reinforced concrete columns and steel beams, based on the FEMA P-695 methodology. The underlying intention is to evaluate the seismic performance of the RCS system at the system level rather than the connection level. A set of 24 archetype buildings with a various number of stories, beam span lengths, gravity load levels, and seismic load levels are selected and designed based on the prevailing code requirements. Nonlinear analytical models are developed and validated by experimental tests. The pushover and response history dynamic analyses are conducted to evaluate the required data in the performance quantification process. The results show that the design coefficients suggested by the code are acceptable. However, the level of conservatism is very high. Thus, it is possible to use a larger R-factor in the design process or make some relaxations in the design requirements related to this structural system.

  • As Our society's environmental awareness and concern the significant increases, the importance of the legal system for environmental conservation such as the Prior Environmental Review System, Environmental Impact Assessment is growing increasingly. but, still critical issues are present such as reliability. Though there could be various causes such as the system or procedures etc. Above all, basically the environmental data problem is the critical cause. Therefore, this study was trying to improve the environmental data accuracy using the high-resolution color aerial photography, LiDAR data and Object Oriented Classification method. And in this study, classification based on coverage percentage of a particular species was attempted through the multi-resolution segmentation and multi-level classification method. The classification result was verified by comparison with 11 points local survey data. All 11 points were classified correctly. And even though the exact coverage percentage of the particular species did not be measured, It was confirmed that the species was occupied similar portion. It is important that the environmental data which can be used for the conservation value assessment could be acquired.

  • This study aims to analyze how pre-service science teachers' reflective thinking is presented during the microteaching process. The subjects of this study were 13 students who attended a lecture course on science teaching methods offered by the Department of Science Education of the College of Education at a national university. The simulated lessons that were performed during the microteaching process went through peer assessment and self-assessment. Then, the next set of lessons was conducted based on the assessment results. After the first set of simulated lessons, the pre-service teachers' reflection at the routine and technical levels was most remarkable in the focus dimension. In the inquiry and change dimensions, technical reflection stood out. Dialogic or transformative reflection was rarely presented. In addition, most of the pre-service teachers displayed mingling patterns of reflection levels in all of the three dimensions. The results of this study, in particular, prove that microteaching has a high level of applicability in terms of reflective thinking and instructional technology. Accordingly, there is a need for subsequent studies to create a new model that can encourage pre-service teachers' reflective thinking by structuralizing peer and self-assessment during the process of microteaching.

  • The remote-sensng campaign was performed at the Pohang Accelerator Laboratory where is located in a basin 6km inland from Yeongil Bay. The campaign aimed uncertainty assessment of Remtech PA0 SODAR through a mutual comparison with WindCube LIDAR, the remote-sensing equipment for wind resource assessment. The joint observation was carried out by changing the setup for measurement heights three times over two months. The LIDAR measurement was assumed as the reference and the uncertainty of SODAR measurement was quantitatively assessed. Compared with LIDAR, the data availability of SODAR was about half. The wind speed measurement was fitted to a slope of 0.94 and $R^2$ of 0.79 to the LIDAR measurement. However, the relative standard deviation was about 17% under 150m above ground level. Therefore, the Remtech PA0 SODAR is judged to be unsuitable for the evaluation of wind resource assessment and wind turbine performance test, which require accuracy of measurement.
