Examining the Vocational Education System of Egypt to Derive Implications for Korea: Focusing on the Three Consecutive Cycle-based Curriculum and Integrated Technical Education Clusters (이집트의 직업교육 학제 분석을 통한 시사점 도출: 3 연속 사이클 교육과정 운영과 통합 기술교육 클러스터 활용을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of the study was to examine the vocational educational system of Egypt, focusing on the effectiveness of the three consecutive cycle-based curriculum and integrated technical education clusters (ITECs) in order to suggest some implications for innovating the current vocational education system of Korea. The vocational education system of Egypt is similar to that of Korea, in terms of general education to go to university and vocational education to go to labor market. However, the Egyptian system is different from the system of Korea in light of the three consecutive cycle-based curriculum that links secondary vocational education, vocational education of college level, and advanced technical and vocational education. In addition, the Egyptian system has adopted the "cluster" approach which integrates technical secondary school, intermediate technical college, and advanced technical college around one physical area so as to promote vocational education in collaboration with regional industries and to guarantee education quality. In the last part, some potential implications were suggested for upgrading the quality of vocational education of Korea based upon the benchmark results of the Egyptian vocational education system and career development of students.

  • The study reviewed the properness of a present job field with 26 items so that the classification system of the national technical qualification can meet the needs of the industrial structure and the technical changes of the 21st century. In addition, it aimed not only to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the management and operation of the national technical qualification system but to design a new classification system of the job field to stimulate qualification holders' employment. For the purpose of this study, materials and data relevant to the national technical qualification system were comprehensively collected and analyzed. Besides, a new job field with 13 job items was proposed in this study on a basis of the collective advice of experts on the properness of the job field in the national technical qualification system.

  • Best value is the ultimate goal of the owner and can thus have diverse meanings according to the project characteristic, owner's purpose, user groups' payment capability, etc.. Recently, resettlement problems of the marginalized members in the urban regeneration area have been issued in Korea because they have no capability to purchase (or lease) redeveloped housing (or apartment). It means that a minimized production cost for reducing supply price of housing is a key factor in establishing the best value of the marginalized members. The lowest-price bidding system serves the purpose of ensuring a minimized production cost, but due to the low-cost investments, it creates various problems, such as sloppy construction, lowered quality, an increased LCC, and worsening profitability for builders. Thus, to help them resettle, it is necessary to supply affordable housing geared towards a certain appropriate quality and minimum construction costs. Towards this end, this study aimed to propose a cost reduction bidding system based on a technical proposal. The proposed technical-proposal-based cost reduction bidding system consists of the following components: work-unit-based, project-unit-based, and construction-period-reducing technical proposals. These components are evaluated to select the best bidder for a given project. The technical proposal based cost reduction bidding system proposed herein is expected to provide facilities with appropriate supply prices and appropriate quality levels, to bolster the technological competitiveness of builders.

  • The technology relevant to a bipropellant propulsion system is quite new one in Korea, which is being transferred for the first time, with development of COMS propulsion system. It hasn't ever attempted before, and hasn't got any general idea itself as well, in Korea. The technical heritage of UK bipropellant propulsion pertinent to COMS propulsion system is scrutinised mainly. Furthermore the strong possibility of COMS CPS for the moon explorer mission is rationalised on the basis of the history of successful predecessors.

  • This paper studied technical investigation of effective operation and methodology for technical combination in south and north korea. For harmonious transportation on railroad system, the system of trans-korea railroad investigated on each part(system, Rolling stock, Cartenary & Electricity, Signal and Track etc). Though it isn't show many difference on railroad system, we can show some difference on rolling stock, track and signaling system. For the effective and competitive operation on south and north korea, Many problem investigated and proposed alternative proposal for selecting of rolling stock(diesel or electric), track and signaling improving for speed-up and compatible system at AC and DC system.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine middle school students' three behavioral systemic needs for the Housing chapter in Home Economics curriculum, Through literature review, the concepts of the three behavioral systems in this study were divided into technical, interpretive and emancipatory one. The questionnaire survey method was used, The subjects were selected randomly the third grade 259 students at 6 middle schools located in Jeonju city, from December 17, 2004 to January 17, 2005, Data were analyzed by using SPSS/WIN 11.5 program. The results were as follows; 1) Average of importance which middle school students recognized was showed the interpretive behavioral system> the emancipatory behavioral system> the technical behavioral system, That of reflection of the text book was showed that the technical was same with the interpretive, and the emancipatory was a little lower value than two systems, And needs in each system were the emancipatory behavioral system> the technical behavioral system> the interpretive behavioral system, 2) Average needs were showed according to the sub-chapter of housing. 'Preservation and Repair of house' in the technical behavioral system and 'Indoor Environment and Equipment' in the interpretive and the emancipatory behavioral systems.

  • In order to improve the speed of railway, several parameters and/or technical issues, which are affecting speed improvement negatively, need to be considered in addition to the enhancement of physical performance of the railway system such as maximum speed, speed at curve, and speed at turnout track. The parameters under complicated situation of railway system are from the areas of rolling stocks, track, power system, signalling, etc. In general, two different aspects of technical issues can be evaluated; Technical issues in the hardware aspect and technical issues in the software aspect. The hardware parameters include running performance, braking performance, and power performance, while the software factors are rules, regulations, and riding quality. In this investigation, a comparison study between hardware and software aspects in technical issues was conducted to provide technical information on the amendment of railway speed-up regulations.

  • The article presents the method that medium enterprises could manage technical information effectively. There are some merits in using the next generation Web brower, HyperWave as technical information management system. First, it makes anyone else to manage the technical information easily. Second, if he could manages the technical in-formation by using HyperWave, he can input, modify, and delete information effectively. Third, HyperWave system can creat the link to connect the related documents or images. Fourth, it provides various retrieval techniques. Lastly, HyperWave system can organize technical information at a low cost.

  • Efficient information flow is the lifeblood of any business. So, Ssangyong research center designed computerized systems to provide computer-based services and name it STIS-I. But the service system is for the retrieval of document written in Alpha-Numeric letters So, the interal technical information written in Korean letters are neglected. But the failing to make use of this literature can result in costly duplication of research. Here are introduced the retrieval system of the internal technical information (STIS-II) by COHIRES (Conversational Hangeul Information Retrival System) which was put into operation 1983. Also the functions of the COHIRES are described.
