A Study on Weather Data for Air Conditioning Equipment Design Report I - Weather Data in Busan from 1970 through 2003

  • For the purpose of processing weather data for air conditioning equipment de sign in Busan area Korea, this study collected weather observations made by Busan weather Administration from 1970 to 2003, and then established external conditions for heating and air-conditioning design. For changes of temperature in external conditions for design, the highest temperature had little changed, whereas the lowest had been on the rise as the years went by through the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, but insolation has a little lessened. Absolute humidity does not show a significant change but an incessant rise.

  • Resistance performance of 3 G/T class coastal leisure boat is experimentally investigated at high speed ranges and the effect of a fin attached at hull side is studied together. Wave patterns are observed to make clear the relation between the resistance performances and the wave characteristics.

Radiological Dose Assessment Due to the Operation of Nuclear Facilities at KAERI Nuclear Site

  • To prevent the potential health detriment to the public from radioactive effluents, radiological dose assessments due to the operation of nuclear facilities located at Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) site has been performed semiannually in compliance with the Minister of Science and Technology (MOST)'s Notice in Korea. Radiological dose assessment based on the new recommendation of the International Committee on Radiation Protection (ICRP-60) has been conducted since 1998. In this manuscript, a serial activities at KAERI site to meet the regulatory standards for routine releases of radioactive effluents are introduced and discussed including technical approaches. It is clear that each nuclear facility has been operated in compliance with regulatory standards. Furthermore, it is identified that the radiation induced health effects for residents around the site are neglectable.

  • 최근의 기업환경은 과거의 소품종 대량생산체계에서 벗어나 소비자의 다양한 요구에 부응하기 위해 다품종소량의 제품을 소비자에게 제공함으로써 기업의 경쟁력을 키워나가야 한다. 이를 위해서는 물류에서의 효율적인 관리가 제품의 비용을 줄이고 고객서비스를 개선하는 것이 기업의 생존전략이 되고 있는 실정이다. 물류의 효율화를 위해서는 물류 공동화와 단순화를 통한 물류비용을 절감할 수 있는데 공동화와 단순화를 하기 위한 전제조건으로서 물류 표준화가 절대적인 역할을 한다. 이러한 물류 표준화의 출발점으로서 파렛트의 표준화를 정착하여 관련된 포장, 물류설비의 표준화를 동시에 병행하여 추진을 하여야 할 것이다. 이 논고에서는 국제표준기구인 ISO (International Standard Organization)/TC(Technical Committee) 51 기술위원회에서 추진 중인 파렛트의 국제규격을 중심으로 그와 관련된 성능시험 등의 제 $\cdot$ 개정 현황을 소개하고 앞으로의 전망을 살펴보기로 한다.

  • 전력계통 관리와 정보교환 분야의 표준화는 국제전기 기술위원회(International Electrotechnical Commission, IEC) 산하의 57 전문위원회(Technical Committee, TC57)에서 주로 다루고 있다. 그 중에서도, 특히 에너지관리시스템 응용프로그램 인터페이스 기술과 배전관리용 시스템 인터페이스 기술에 관한 표준을 주로 다루는 전문가그룹(Working Group, WG)이 WG13과 WG14이다. 본 논문에서는TC57 개요와 WG13/14를 중심으로 국제표준화 기술동향과 향후 기술전망에 대해 소개하고자 한다.

  • In 2007, Round Robin Test (RRT) on ground response analyses has been conducted by the technical committee of Soil Dynamics and Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering of Korean Geotechnical Society. Total 14 teams have reported 16 different results. This paper discusses the evaluation of ground response dispersion caused by the difference of input ground motions. In order to determine the characteristics of ground response, this study analysed the peak ground acceleration, predominant period, and response spectrum of reported ground surface motions. The results suggest that ground response dispersion due to the difference of input ground motions can be significant.

ETSI 표준을 위한 소프트웨어 모뎀 기반 멀티모드 단말기의 표준 개발

  • ETSI(European Telecommunication Standards Institute), TC(Technical Committee), RRS(Reconfigurable Radio Systems)에서는 소프트웨어 모뎀 기반 멀티모드 단말기의 연구 및 표준을 개발하고 있다. 소프트웨어 모뎀 기반 멀티모드 단말기는 SDR(Software Defined Radio) 기술을 바탕으로 단말기 플랫폼에 독립적인 라디오 어플리케이션을 운용함으로써, 하나의 단말기에서 동시에 다양한 이동통신 표준을 이용할 수 있는 차세대 단말기이다. 본 논문에서는 TC RRS에서 정의한 라디오 어플리케이션 사이에서의 리소스 공유 방법과 라디오 어플리케이션의 배포 형태에 따른 멀티모드 단말기의 분류에 대해 소개한다. 또한, 여러 개의 라디오 어플리케이션을 동시에 운영할 수 있는 멀티모드 단말기의 아키텍처와 인터페이스에 대해 소개한다.

Numerical simulation of shaking table tests on 3D reinforced concrete structures

  • The current paper presents the numerical blind prediction of nonlinear seismic response of two full-scale, three dimensional, one-story reinforced concrete structures subjected to bidirectional earthquake simulations on shaking table. Simulations were carried out at the laboratories of LNEC (Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil) in Lisbon, Portugal. The study was motivated by participation in the blind prediction contest of shaking table tests, organized by the challenge committee of the 15th World Conference on Earthquake Engineering. The test specimens, geometrically identical, designed for low and high ductility levels, were subjected to subsequent earthquake motions of increasing intensity. Three dimensional nonlinear analytical models were implemented and subjected to the input base motions. Reasonably accurate reproduction of the measured displacement response was obtained through appropriate modeling. The goodness of fit between analytical and measured results depended on the details of the analytical models.

A New Switching Pattern for Multilevel Inverter Based on Selective Harmonic Elimination Using Genetic Algorithm

  • In this paper, a new switching pattern is presented for multilevel inverters. With changing off-angel of each switch, the on time interval of all switches will approximately be equal and then the lifetime of inverter will increase, also using this method can reduce electrical stress on switches in higher levels of inverter. Switching angels as for desired modulation index are calculated using genetic algorithm whereas selective harmonics are controlled within the allowable range. The computed angels are simulated in Matlab/Simulink for respective circuits to validate the results.
