  • In this paper, we propose an indoor visible light communication(VLC) localization using Walsh code which can identify overlapped signals transmitted from the different LED sources as each of orthogonal signal at a receiver and using Manchester code which can eliminate the flicker of LED light and maintain a constant brightness. The proposed system can estimate the relative position of the receiver by using Lambertian radiation properties and trilateration method that are applied to the location information of fixed LED sources and the received signals from them. In order to verify the feasibility of the proposed system, we carried out the simulation in an indoor space with $6{\times}6{\times}1.5m^3$ installed LED lamps of 16. The simulation result shows that the proposed method achieves an average positioning error of 0.0536 m and a maximum positioning error of 0.2977 m.

  • As the development of the 4th industiral revolution in the maritime industry has progressed, the technical development of autonomous ships, and the development of international regulations have been accelerated. In particular, the IMO Maritime Safety Committee(MSC) has established a road-map for the development of the non-mandatory goal-based MASS instrument(MASS Code) and started developing a non-mandatory MASS Code at MSC 105th meeting. Many countries are actively participating in the Correspondence Group on the development of MASS Code, and the development of detailed requirements for MASS functions in the MASS Code is underway. Especially, the concept of "Mode of Operation" for MASS functions was mentioned in the Correspondence Group for the first time, and it is expected that discussions on these modes will be conducted from the IMO MASS JWG meeting to held in April 2023. The concept of "Mode of Operation" will be useful in explaining MASS and MASS functions and will be discussed in the future for the development of MASS Code. This paper reviews the contents of the IMCA M 220 document, which provides guidelines on operating modes, to conduct research on the benchmark for setting the operating modes of MASS.

  • This paper is devoted to presenting a MacWilliams type identity for m-spotty RT weight enumerators of byte error control codes over finite commutative Frobenius rings, which can be used to determine the error-detecting and error-correcting capabilities of a code. This provides the relation between the m-spotty RT weight enumerator of the code and that of the dual code. We conclude the paper by giving three illustrations of the results.

  • The application of the compressive force path method for the design of earthquake-resistant reinforced concrete structural walls with a shear span-to-depth ratio larger than 2.5 has been shown by experiment to lead to a significant reduction of the code specified transverse reinforcement within the critical lengths without compromising the code requirements for structural performance. The present work complements these findings with experimental results obtained from tests on structural walls with a shear span-to-depth ratio smaller than 2.5. The results show that the compressive force path method is capable of safeguarding the code performance requirements without the need of transverse reinforcement confining concrete within the critical lengths. Moreover, it is shown that ductility can be considerably increased by improving the strength of the two bottom edges of the walls through the use of structural steel elements extending to a small distance of the order of 100 mm from the wall base.

  • Applying a direct formulation for the enrichment of the displacement field an extended finite element (XFEM) scheme for modeling of cohesive crack growth is developed. Only elements cut by the crack is enriched and the scheme fits within the framework of standard FEM code. The scheme is implemented for the 3-node constant strain triangle (CST) and the 6-node linear strain triangle (LST). Modeling of standard concrete test cases such as fracture in the notched three point beam bending test (TPBT) and in the four point shear beam test (FPSB) illustrates the performance. The XFEM results show good agreement with results obtained by applying standard interface elements in FEM and with experimental results. In conjunction with criteria for crack growth local versus nonlocal computation of the crack growth direction is discussed.

  • The possibilities of non-linear analysis of reinforced-concrete structures are under development. In particular, current research areas include structural analysis with the application of advanced computational and material models. The submitted article aims to evaluate the possibilities of the determination of material properties, involving the tensile strength of concrete, fracture energy and the modulus of elasticity. To evaluate the recommendations for concrete, volume computational models are employed on a comprehensive series of tests. The article particularly deals with the issue of the specific properties of fracture-plastic material models. This information is often unavailable. The determination of material properties is based on the recommendations of Model Code 1990, Model Code 2010 and specialized literature. For numerical modelling, the experiments with the so called "classic" concrete beams executed by Bresler and Scordelis were selected. It is also based on the series of experiments executed by Vecchio. The experiments involve a large number of reinforcement, cross-section and span variants, which subsequently enabled a wider verification and discussion of the usability of the non-linear analysis and constitutive concrete model selected.

  • The purpose of this study is localization of safety relief valves for Nuclear Service. The safety relief valve is the important equipment used to protect the pressure vessel, the steam generator and the other pressure facility from overpressure by discharging the operating medium when the pressure of system is reaching the design pressure of the system. We developed design technology used FEM ' CFM about safety relief valve for Nuclear Service according to ASME (or KEPIC) Code and KHNP's Technical Specification. To prove validity of a design technology, actually, we manufactured and inspected and tested the sample products designed according to a developed technology. The capacity qualification test was achieved according to requirement of ASME(or KEPIC) Code by NBBI and the functional qualification test was achieved according to ASME QME-1 for operating condition in technical specification of KHNP by NLI. Therefore we have to achieve the development of safety relief valves for Nuclear Service with our own technologies.

  • Since the launch of AI, technology development to implement complete and sophisticated AI functions has continued. In efforts to develop technologies for complete automation, Machine Learning techniques and deep learning techniques are mainly used. These techniques deal with supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning as internal technical elements, and use the Big-data Analysis method again to set the cornerstone for decision-making. In addition, established decision-making is being improved through subsequent repetition and renewal of decision-making standards. In other words, big data analysis, which enables data classification and recognition/recognition, is important enough to be called a key technical element of AI function. Therefore, big data analysis itself is important and requires sophisticated analysis. In this study, among various tools that can analyze big data, we will use a Python program to find out what variables can affect addiction according to smartphone use in a decision tree environment. We the Python program checks whether data classification by decision tree shows the same performance as other tools, and sees if it can give reliability to decision-making about the addictiveness of smartphone use. Through the results of this study, it can be seen that there is no problem in performing big data analysis using any of the various statistical tools such as Python and R when analyzing big data.
