Short Communication of Novel Application of Food Irradiation

  • Irradiation of food is not only used for sanitation purposes but can be used for processing techniques to reduce or eliminate toxic or undesirable compounds on food. Irradiation wag effective to reduce the allergenicity of food by modification of the structure of proteins causing allergy reactions. Volatile N-nitrosmaine was reduced or eliminated by irradiation in the model system study and the breakdown products by irradiation did not recombine under human stomach conditions (pH 2,3, and 4,37$^{\circ}C$). The possibility of residual chlorophyll b reduction by irradiation was also found, and the model study indicated that irradiation be used to destroy chlorophyll b, resulting in protection from photooxidation in oil without acceleration of lipid oxidation during irradiation. In this paper, several on-going research projects for the application of food irradiation as a new processing technique are introduced, including reduction of food allergens, breakdown of volatile N-nitrosamine and residual chlorophyll b.

AHP를 활용한 프로젝트 팀 구성원의 개인역량 상대적 중요도 연구 (A Study on Relative Importance of Project team members Competencies Using AHP)

  • The purpose of this paper is to identify a relative importance and priority of the factors of Competencies of project team member. It aims to present the differential competency factors from a differentiated perspective by applying the Leadership Development Questionnaire, which is the competency dimension required for manager, to team member. (1) Background: The diverse needs of customers and companies, and the uncertainty, complexity, ambiguity, and volatility of the environment surrounding the company in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution threaten the survival of company. In this respect, companies should implement the project management approach and strive to increase the capabilities of each team member. (2) Methods: AHP method was used to prioritize which factors were considered more importance level and the gap of relative importance level between project manager group and team members group. (3) Results: In the analysis of the relative importance of the upper class, weights were derived in the order of managerial competence, intellectual competence, and emotional competence. The sub-factor that respondents prioritize was communication as the 1st priority, and it was analyzed in the order of strategic perspective, achieving, critical analysis and judgement, and vision and imagination. There were some differences in the ranking of the relative importance of achieving and vision and imagination attributes between the PM group and TM group, it was analyzed that there was no significant difference overall. (4) Implications: The results of this study confirmed the recognition that team members are required to have the same competencies as the project manager. And based on the priorities of the competencies required of team members, companies are expected to cultivate professional and competent team members, and expand the roles and authority of team members so that they can actively carry out projects.

THE INFLUENCE OF THE PROJECT MANAGER ON THE SUCCESS OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

  • The success and failure of any project depends upon many factors, the Project Manager is considered to be the key contributor to the success of any project, as well as a guide to the team members to achieve the client satisfaction (Cost, Time and Quality). Therefore the main aim of this paper is to provide a practical approach for understanding the importance of the Project Manager and his effectiveness to the success of the construction projects. In addition, the Project Manager's roles, responsibilities and duties have direct impact to the success of the construction projects. In order to identify the thoughts and opinion of the construction industry on this particular assertion, a quantitative study was carried out within the UK construction industry. The result of the study shows that there is an extremely strong correlation between the Project Manager and the success of the construction projects. In construction projects the Project Manager is considered to be one of the most important people who can lead and drive the projects in the right direction and conclude construction projects successfully. Moreover, these can play the most important role regarding the improvement of the organization's performance, the organization's profitability and the client's satisfaction. The research confirmed that the Project Manager is a very essential element to the success of the construction project and have an impact at every stage of the construction project. So it concluded that selection of a Project Manager should be carefully done with regard to experience, knowledge, power/authority and good understanding to the kind of the project.

R&D 프로젝트 리더의 챔피언 리더십이 프로젝트 생존성 및 팀 효력에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Champion Leadership of R&D Project Leader on Project Viability and Team Efficacy)

  • 본 연구는 국내 공공 및 민간 부문 전자, 통신, 기계, 화학분야 22개 연구기관 92개 팀을 대상으로 수집한 실증 자료를 통해 프로젝트 리더에 의한 챔피언 리더십이 팀에 대한 자원 공급 및 조직 지원, 팀원들의 팀 효력에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 분석결과 프로젝트 리더의 챔피언 리더십은 높은 수준의 조직 지원 및 자원 공급과 관련되어 있으며, 프로젝트 리더의 챔피언 리더십을 높게 지각하는 팀의 팀원들은 보다 높은 수준의 팀 효력을 보였다. 또한, 프로젝트 유형 및 혁신 분위기는 챔피언 리더십과 자원 공급 및 조직 지원, 팀 효력 사이의 관계를 조절하고 있음을 발견하였다. 끝으로, 연구결과의 이론적 및 실무적 시사점이 논의되고 연구의 한계점과 미래의 연구방향이 제시되었다.

  • 최근 국내에서는 쇠퇴도시 재개발, 도시의 균형발전, 도시 이미지 창출을 목적으로 메가프로젝트 규모의 사업이 활발히 추진되고 있다. 메가프로젝트 사업은 다양한 주체들에 의해 장기간에 걸쳐 대규모로 추진되는 특성으로, 참여주체간의 복잡한 이해관계와 갈등, 부적절한 시설규모 계획을 통한 사업성 저하 등의 문제점이 야기되고 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서는 사업초기단계에서 비용절감 및 성능향상 효과를 최대한 발휘할 수 있으며 다양한 시설의 규모적 특성을 기능중심적 사고를 통해 지원할 수 있는 VE 적용이 필수적으로 요구된다. 하지만, 사업초기단계에 대한 가용정보의 부족, 기존 방법론의 부재 등으로 인하여 사업초기단계에서의 VE적용은 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사업초기단계 메가프로젝트의 문제점과 VE적용의 한계를 해결하기 위한 방안으로, VE준비단계에서의 VE팀 구성, Quality Model, 성능지표, Space Model을 제안하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 메가프로젝트의 기획/계획단계에서 VE 수행을 위한 기초적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a primary tool which provides a framework that defines clear scope of all deliverables throughout the project life cycle. Once the WBS is established in projects, it should allow project team members to measure and manage work performances by the WBS; further, it should provide a reference point when any work scope needs to be redefined. Based on the project information in the Progress and Performance Measurement System (PPMS) of UAE's Barakha Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) projects, an attempt was made to develop a new WBS which provides hierarchical and systematical decomposition of the total work scope of NPP construction projects while avoiding from the preexistence concept in Korean NPP projects that the WBS is a combination of Physical Breakdown Structure (PBS) and Functional Breakdown Structure (FBS). The unique features of the new WBS are as follows: (1) defined the definition of each level of the WBS, (2) subdivided the WBS into 5 hierarchical levels, and (3) adopted globally used general coding structure. The new WBS provides a basic hierarchical structure for the project scope and can be used as a basic tool for schedule control, performance measurement, project status monitoring, and communication among project participants. In addition, by putting the Work Package (WP) under the WBS, the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) per WP can be utilized for the project.

Study on the Injury and Rehabilitation of Racket Athletes with Disabilities

  • Purpose: This study examined the injury and rehabilitation of athletes with disabilities in racket sports projects (i.e., badminton, table tennis, and wheelchair tennis). In addition, the characteristics of each project and the differences among those projects are discussed. Methods: Business team athletes with disabilities in racket sport were enrolled as subjects (i.e., 19 badminton athletes, 19 table tennis athletes, and 19 wheelchair tennis athletes). The real conditions of the injury, injury severity, injury site, symptoms, and rehabilitation methods after injury were analyzed. Results: No significant differences were observed among the actual condition, injury severity, symptoms and the methods of rehabilitation on racket sport for athletes (i.e., badminton, table tennis, and wheelchair tennis athletes) with disability. The differences were focused mainly on the injury sites due to the characteristics of the different projects, and specific technical actions. Conclusion: This study examined the real condition of the injury, injury severity, injury site, symptoms and rehabilitation methods after the injury on the rackets (i.e., badminton, table tennis, and wheelchair tennis) athletes with disabilities. The data can be used to eliminate the incidence of injury and minimize the injury severity for racket athletes with disabilities. In addition, it can also be used for the disabled, who like racket projects, as the fundamental material to prevent injury and assist in recovery.

융복합 시대 모바일 커뮤니케이션 서비스 유용성이 팀 과제 성과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Service Usefulness of Mobile Communication Services on Team Project Performance in the Convergence Era)

  • 최근 팀 프로젝트에서 모바일 커뮤니케이션 서비스(MCS: mobile communication services)를 활용한 협업이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 MCS를 활용한 협업이 팀 프로젝트 성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 조직 측면에서 팀 몰입과 팀 신뢰가 팀 프로젝트 성과 형성에 핵심적인 역할을 담당할 것으로 예상하였으며, MCS 유용성의 영향에 대해서도 살펴보았다. MCS 유용성을 형성하는 주요 특성으로 유비쿼티, 복합적 사용, 사용 용이성을 고려하였다. 팀 프로젝트 수행 시 IT 서비스를 자주 활용하는 116명의 대학생들을 대상으로 연구 모형을 검증하였으며, PLS를 활용하였다. 연구 모형 분석 결과, 팀 신뢰는 팀 몰입과 팀 프로젝트 성과에 긍정적으로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 하지만, MCS 유용성은 팀 몰입에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았고, 팀 프로젝트 성과에만 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. MCS 특성 가운데 사용 용이성만 MCS 유용성 형성에 도움을 주는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 유비퀴티와 복합 사용성은 MCS 유용성에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다.

SYMLOG 다이어그램 분석을 통한 효율적인 문제 해결 팀과 비효율적인 문제 해결 팀의 특징 비교 연구 (Compare of Characteristics of Efficient and Inefficient Problem-Solving Teams Using SYMLOG Diagram Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of efficient problem-solving teams and inefficient problem-solving teams using SYMLOG. In this study, 35 college students majoring in engineering education at C university were organized into 7 teams and carried out technological problem solving projects over one semester. Based on the results of the team project, the top 2 teams were defined as efficient problem solving teams and the bottom 2 teams were defined as inefficient problem solving team, and analyzed the characteristics of the team using SYMLOG. The main results are as follows: First, an analysis of SYMLOG from efficient problem solving teams and inefficient problem solving teams showed that there was a difference between self-awareness and others' perception in terms of U(Upward)-D(Downward) dimension. Second, in the inefficient problem solving teams, there was a significant difference between self-awareness and others' in the F(Forward)-B(Backward) dimension. Third, there was no difference between self-awareness and others' in both efficient and inefficient teams at the P (Positive)-N(Negative) dimension. Fourth, an efficient problem-solving team had a clear leader, and there was a team member who supported the leader. On the other hand, the inefficient problem-solving team did not have a clear leader, or one person played the role of leader and there were no team members supporting the leader.

컴퓨팅 사고 프레임워크 기반 방과후 스크래치 팀프로젝트 경험의 분석 (Computational Thinking Framework-based Analysis of Afterschool Scratch Team Project Experiences)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 방과후 소프트웨어 교육으로 진행된 스크래치 수업에서 학생들의 팀 프로젝트 경험을 분석하고 향후 방과후 수업의 방향을 설정하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한 학기 동안 초등학교 방과후 수업으로 12주차 스크래치 수업을 설계하고 2인 1팀으로 팀을 구성하여 스크래치로 프로젝트를 기획 및 구현해서 발표하는 과정을 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 3팀을 선정하여 산출물 기반 인터뷰(Artifact-based Interview)를 수행하고 방과 후 소프트웨어 수업에서 학생들의 경험을 컴퓨팅 사고(Computational Thinking) 개념, 수행, 관점에 초점을 둔 프레임워크에 기반하여 질적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구는 연구와 실천이라는 두 가지 측면에서 의의를 가진다. 연구 측면에서는 컴퓨팅 사고 프레임워크를 소프트웨어 교육 평가에 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다는 점이며, 실천적 측면에서는 도출된 학생들의 경험의 질적 분석 자료가 향후 초등 소프트웨어 교육의 내용 및 평가방법 설계에 시사점을 제공하고 있다는 점이다.
