In order to describe participants' experiences, qualitative data were analyzed using Van Manen's phenomenological approach. The findings showed that childcare teaching assistants suffered a gap between their role expectations and reality. They felt diverse emotions and doubt about their professionalism through interactions with teachers in charge, directors, parents, and children. The participants claimed that the Nuri curriculum teaching assistants system should be improved to achieve better quality childcare programs. The implications to support the Nuri curriculum teaching assistants system were discussed in depth.

To achieve the research goal, this study conducted a survey targeting a total of 300 teachers, vice principals and principals working for infant educational institutes located in Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed 253 copies of the survey in total. The study used a structural equation to design a structural equation-based model to look into the structural relationships related to the role performance with the teaching efficacy and job stress. The collected data was then analyzed by AMOS 18.0 to estimate the correspondence and the parameter of the model. According to the results of the analysis, the role performance of kindergarten teachers was observed to have an immediate influence on the teaching efficacy. The role performance of kindergarten teachers was directly connected to job stress. The job stress had an indirect relationship with the role performance of kindergarten teachers through the teaching efficacy. The teaching efficacy of the kindergarten teachers was confirmed to have immediate association with the job stress of infant teachers.

  • This study is about the design of teaching assistant robots that helps elementary school teachers while giving lectures. It focuses on finding images which fits the role of teaching assistant robots, not merely suggesting several designs of robots that are just preferred by children. For this study, the qualities that satisfy the role of teaching assistant were studied by literature reviewing. These qualities were grouped and prioritized to arrange them as role images of teaching assistant robot, through questionnaire to teachers and student teachers. Using the role images and basic adjectives as standards, children performed the image mapping with the pictures of existing robots. This allowed us to find out how children accept the external features of each robot, and which external feature has to be used in order to reveal the role images. And taking form of workshop, children expressed their own images of a teaching assistant robot, a robot's height and location in classroom was surveyed. Based on these studies', three design guidelines of teaching assistant robot have been suggested.

  • A teaching hospital is a place where both patient care and learning occur together. To identify the role of the teaching hospital in an effective clerkship, we first determined the features of workplace learning and the factors that affect learning in the workplace, and then we proposed a role for the teaching hospital in the clinical clerkship. Features of learning in a clerkship include learning in context, and learning from patients, supervising doctors, others in the team, and colleagues. During the clerkship, medical students learn in three-way learner-patient-teacher relationships, and students' participation in the tasks of patient care is crucial for learning. Factors that influence learning in the workplace are associated with tasks, context, and learner. Tying the three factors together, we proposed a role for the teaching hospital in the three categories: involvement in the tasks of patient care, engagement in the medical team, and engagement in the learning environment and system. Supervising doctors and team members in a teaching hospital support students' deep participation in patient care, while improving the learning environment through organizational guidelines and systems. Gathering both qualitative and quantitative data for the evaluation of a teaching hospital is important.

  • This study utilizes the image contents, one of the social interaction activities, in role-play. The one-semester class results were used for analysis to prepare teaching-learning plans for the department of aviation services. This study helped students in the Department of Aviation Services understand the airline cabin organization and examined whether it would help them understand the airline cabin organization and examine whether it would help them communicate with customers. In role-play classes, learners or groups of learners use role-playing dialogues to create role-plays and create communication situations similar to the real world.
