The purpose of this study was to investigate English teachers' perceptions about doing their own action research to find out the benefits of involvement in action research. I believe that teachers should engage in curriculum research and development because it relates to their own classrooms and because a primary aim for teacher education program is to give teachers ways of exploring their own classrooms. I focused on 17 graduate students who had undertaken action research during the fall semester of 2007 and administered a questionnaire about their perceptions of doing action research. The results revealed that their perceptions of doing action research fell into the following two categories, positive and negative aspects. For positive aspects, they experienced a sense of personal and professional growth and they underwent identity transformation from passive, etic-oriented, and uncritical to active, emic-oriented, and critical teachers. However, many of them expressed that major obstacles to doing action research were time constraints and lack of skills or training in conducting action research. Thus, it is suggested that both pre- and in-service teachers should consider conducting a language teaching diary study, doing collaborative action research, and acquiring all the necessary skills for conducting action research.

In this study, an enriched in-service program for teaching scientific creativity was developed and implemented using the scientific creativity activities developed by Park, Park, & Lee (2008). In this program, science teachers performed scientific creativity activities by themselves and practiced the development of actual teaching materials. As a result, science teachers mentioned that they could achieve their goals by learning about various actual teaching materials and teaching strategies for gifted education. They also mentioned that the in-service program was interesting, had appropriate levels of learning difficulty, and that they would apply the teaching programs and teaching strategies to actual gifted education. Observing teachers' actual learning processes during the in-service training course, it was found that they actually participated in the in-service program for a long time intensively and could improve conceptual understanding in depth, but it was necessary to long-term creative thinking practice for being beyond the level of students' creative activities. Finally, from the analysis of teaching materials developed by teachers at the final step of the in-service program, it was found which aspects were developed well or were unsatisfactory, therefore, these findings could be applied for more improved in-service programs.
The perception of pre-service teachers who participated as liaison teachers in the gifted education organization's different operating styles and the differences in the thoughts of these teachers were analyzed in this study. The inquiry survey was performed for 74 liaison teachers who had participated in the observational activities in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center supported by education of administration in Chungbuk Province. The individual in-depth interview was performed with 7 teachers based on the analyzed data. The perception of pre-service teachers who participated in as liaison teachers in the university annexed science gifted education center and the dormitory based gifted students education center was different from important element of the gifted and qualification of the teacher for gifted education. It was revealed that the differences between the education parts, education schedule and education methods of two the education centers, which were performed during the semester, influenced the perception of pre-service teachers who participated as the liaison teachers. The necessity of the systematic training on the observational skills and class contents were suggested as the essential support system for liaison teachers. The results of the study indicate that the gifted education organizations operating styles, the activities of liaison teachers, and pre-service teacher training program for gifted education emphasizes the long term actual guide experience at the education field for the gifted.

Though school leaders play a crucial role in encouraging the creative school environment, culture, and system that might improve the creative competencies of teachers, there has been little attention to the creative leadership of school supervisors. In this paper, we provide the satisfaction and view of elementary and secondary school leaders who were involved in professional development training for enhancing creative leadership. Using one-way ANOVA and qualitative data coding, we analyze the survey responses from the 67 in-service principals and vice-principals during three different training periods as 2020-I, 2020-II, and 2021-I. We present and compare the result on their satisfaction in terms of satisfaction regarding the process, administrative supports, and optional programs among the training. Next, we explore how the school administrators think the creative leadership training and proposal for its improvement. Based on the feedback for these stakeholders, further studies need to steadily enhance the professional development training for creative leadership and practical program contents.
The purpose of this study was to find ways to improve teacher training programs for mathematics teachers' professional development in Korea. To do so, we first investigated current programs for in-service mathematics teachers in Korea. Then five professional development programs for mathematics teachers in foreign countries were searched and described, which have clear concepts of professionalism and distinct strategies in terms of their aims, processes, focal points, financial supports, etc. We then analyzed the advantages and disadvantages and the types of each program. Based on the analyses, we finally discussed what we learned to make mathematics teacher training programs better for their professional development in Korea.
Purpose: This study aimed to determine the correlation between job performance difficulties and job satisfaction that novice health teachers experienced in a new school environment, and provide the basic data necessary for policy development. Methods: Data were collected from 196 novice health teachers without in-service training program for the qualification of 1st grade and with less than four years of work experience in Korea. The self-report questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, perception of difficulties in job performance, and job satisfaction. The data were analyzed using the x2 test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: Novice health teachers had the most difficulty in health education during their job performance, whereas teachers without hospital clinical experience encountered difficulties in health management. Those with less than two years of teaching experience or no experience of being contract health teachers had higher job performance difficulties. The results revealed that the lack of experience in performance at a school site had a considerable influence on the difficulty in job performance. In terms of job satisfaction, novice health teachers had the highest satisfaction with status recognition and the lowest satisfaction with their tasks in charge. Additionally, as the difficulty in job performance increased, job satisfaction decreased. Conclusion: The study results indicated the need for training to provide novice health teachers with sufficient experience in job performance before being placed in a school. The provision of support to respond to difficulties in job performance will improve job satisfaction and contribute not only to the development of novice health teachers, but also to the improvement of the quality of school health.
The purpose of this study is to analyze an experience of field practice perceived by vocational teachers. Data for analysis were collected from 689 vocational teachers who participated in the training at the Center for in-service teacher education in the School of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Seoul National University and at the Center for in-service teacher education of Chungnam National University. After screening, 685 responses were used in the analysis. As a result, it turned out that only 112 vocational teachers(16.5%) participated in the field practice for more than 4 weeks when they were in pre-service education. However, vocational teachers seemed to perceive that experience of field practice was generally required in pre-service education(average 4.07). In-depth questionnaire was conducted on 143 respondents who replied that they participated in field practice program for more than 4 weeks and those who participated in the program for less than 4 weeks but completed the paperwork. Most of vocational teachers who participated in field practice were placed in small and medium sized enterprises, stayed at home or relatives' home and commuted by the bus or subway. In this research, 34.8% of the vocational teachers who participated in field practice received financial compensation and 80.3% of the teachers got credit recognition. The perception of satisfaction on field practice program was found to be moderate(average 3.51).
The purpose of this study is to analyze The Effect of Teacher Participation-oriented Education Program (TPEP) centered on Multi-Faceted Analysis of Elementary Science Classes on the Class Expertise of novice teacher. First, in order to develop the TPEP, lectures and exploratory science classes were analyzed using imaging and eye-tracking techniques. In this study, the TPEP was developed in five stages: image analysis, eye analysis, teaching language analysis, gesture analysis, and class development. Participants directly analyzed the classes of experienced and novice teachers at each stage. The TPEP developed in this study is different from the existing teacher education program in that it reflected the human performance technology aspects. The participants analyzed actual elementary science classes in a multi-faceted way and developed better classes based on them. The results of this study are as follows. First, at the teacher training institutions and the school sites, pre-service teachers and novice teachers should be provided with various experiences in class analysis and multi-faceted analysis of their own classes. Second, through this study, we were able to identify the limitations of existing class observations and video analysis. Third, the TPEP should be developed to improve the novice teachers' class expertise. Finally, we hope that the results of this study are used as basic data in developing programs to improve teachers' class expertise in teacher training institutions and education policy institutions.

In this study, we developed a 15-week educational program for TPACK(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) development of 40 pre-service teachers in a university for teacher training. We also developed a TPACK evaluation framework to evaluate the practical competency of TPACK of pre-service teachers. The developed evaluation framework consisted of 5 levels, from 0 to 4, TPK(Technological Pedagogical Knowledge), TCK(Technological Content Knowledge), and TPACK, respectively. As a result of the evlauation, the levels of TPK, TCK, and TPACK development stages of most pre-service teachers were consistent, but some pre-service teachers' TPK and TCK did not match. It was found that the TPACK stages follow the lower level between TPK and TCK. In addition, as a result of an investigation into the hindrance factors of the TPACK development of pre-service teachers with low TPACK stages in the use of technology, they have distrust of students' ability to learn with self-regulation, distrust of students' ability to interact, and recognition of practical limitations in the school field. Based on these findings, we argued that it was necessary to provide an educational program to help pre-service teachers develop balanced TPK and TCK and eliminate the hindrance factors of the TPACK development of pre-service teachers about technology-using classes.
School health promotion is related to reinforce on various roles of school health teachers including health instruction, health services, healthful school living. In this aspects, there would be necessory for qualified continous education proceed to activate roles of school health teachers. So the objectives of this study are first, to develop curriculum framework for inservice training of health school nurses, second, to descrive of curriculum objectives, third, to state of curriculum objectives and learning methods. There were used study methods as literature review, expert conferencing and workshop. Major results are as follows; 1. Curriculum framework for inservice training of health school nurses was constitute of major variables of health care model and direct services role of school health teacher such as health service, health instruction and healthful environment area. 2. The curriculum for health instruction were different from elementary school and middle school. 3. Time distribution for curriculum was composed of that health service is 12hours, health instruction is 96 hours and healthful environment is 12 hours. 4. The learning methods for inservice training were suggested to intensify positive attitude through the discussion and practical exercise. 5. The curriculum objectives were classified by total, area and a course of study and time summary table was suggested. In conclusion, the developed curriculum would be contribute to improve of practical ability for school health teachers. And to increase of inservice training effect, there should be operate in order to participate trainees activately and to be educate concurrently. Also, there are necessary for execute in series of the program such as standized text developing by course, evaluation index developing and instructor education etc.
