This study aims to present and develop 'teacher professional model and standards of assessing students in environmental education for sustainability'. To achieve the purpose, this study was progressed in the following stages. First, based on the results of purposes and objectives developing in environmental education, the concept and components of environmental literacy, which are utilized in environmental education as a means of creating sustainable education were analyzed. Second, the qualities, which environmental teacher should have as an expert were identified through a process of researching literature and professional meeting. Based on the result, the categories and elements of the qualities which an environmental teacher should be have in order to provide expert evaluation of students in their environmental classes were extracted and teacher professional model assessing students was developed. Third, based on the above teacher professional assessing model, standards of assessing in environmental education for sustainability were established. Fourth, based on the teacher professional model and standards of assessing students in environmental education, assessing items corresponding to components of environmental literacy were presented. By presenting and developing 'teacher professional model and standards of assessing students in environmental education for sustainability' in this study, we expect that the model and standards can support to improve school teachers' assessing professionalism in selecting assessing methods, designing assessing process, and analyzing and applying the results of the assessment.

The article theoretically analyzed and specified definitions such as: "professional development of personality, competence, professional competence of a teacher". Structural components of professional competence are defined, namely: theoretical involves deep knowledge in the field of special pedagogy, special psychology; technological involves the use of acquired knowledge in practical activities and personal in which important personal characteristics of a special teacher are noted. Criteria and levels of development of professional competence of future special teachers are determined. The article analyzes the peculiarities of the professional activity of a teacher in the conditions of an inclusive educational space, in particular, the special training of a teacher as an integral component of this process. Emphasis is placed on the cooperation of teachers in an inclusive educational institution for the socialization of a child with special needs and her preparation for independent life.
As a part of attempts to understand better mathematics classroom culture, this paper first reviews plausible factors which influence the mathematics teacher's own development of instructional goals. The proposed factors consist of teacher characteristics and sociocultural factors. The teacher factors include learning and teaching experience, knowledge, beliefs, and personality traits. The sociocultural factors include cultural and educational norms, curriculum development and administration, teacher education, and professional models with community, This paper then presents detailed interview questions to explore significant influences on the teacher's conceptions of mathematics and its teaching. The interview probes 12 topic areas: (a) early influences on becoming a teacher, (b) the decision to become a teacher, (c) the teacher education years, (d) early mathematics interests, (e) early teaching experiences, (f) career path, (g) influence of peers within the school, (h) influence of administrators, (i) professional development, (j) professional self-development, (k) mathematics teaching, and (i) educational policies.

This study is to find ways of support for beginning teacher induction in elementary school with constructing model of professional development. To achieve this purpose, this study reviewed significance of beginning teacher induction program, the bridge to life learning, and constructed the model of professional development for beginning. The final conclusion about ways of support as support intensity are orientation based on demanding of beginning teacher, bridge connection with veteran teacher, coordination of working conditions, collaboration among peer teacher, and strengthening computer network at week intensity level. At strong intensity level, the ways of support for beginning teacher are institutionalization on election and training of mentor, institutionalization on compulsory induction for 1 year, development and operation of teacher education center, and furtherance of school learning organization.

This study analyzed the cases of three teacher communities participating in an innovative professional development program and clarified the characteristics and the process of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence that were developed and applied during the program. Each of the teacher communities designed and implemented lessons according to the context of each community and the concept of lessons for mathematics-oriented convergence were developed and refined. The lessons developed by the three teacher communities were characterized as convergence problem posing lessons using technology, convergence of various subject content focused on mathematical concepts through team teaching, and convergence lessons according to students' achievement levels. The program contributed to teacher community activities by proving sustainable professional development in the area of convergence education, a connection between the content of their professional development and the context of the field, and opportunities for active participation in the process of developing and implementing the convergence lessons.
The purpose of this study is to develop an in-service teacher training program for professional development in environmental education. In order to achieve the goal, the in- service teacher training program for professional development in environmental education development / implement team is formed to deal with the development and the implementation of the program. The team is composed of environmental education professionals and environmental education teachers. After the development of the program, 20 teachers were selected to implement the program. Then, through various researches such as interview, monitoring, and survey, the evaluation of the program was done. After the evaluation, the feedback on the program was collected in order to apply the final adjustments and changes to the developed training program for professional development in environmental education. The training program is designed to include the wide range of theories and real life cases. It focuses on certain topic, and is implemented through workshop type training method to increase the participation rate. The major motive of the participants was to develop their professionality in environmental education. Based on the analysis of the training program and the workshop, 69.1% of the program is focused on the environmental education/learning theory, and 71.4% is focused on the environmental education teaching method. The environmental education teaching method is focused on the real life teaching method that could be used in many schools. However, the parts on environmental education philosophy, psychology, and evaluation was not included as a part of the program. Also, the evaluation method of the students learning the environmental education was not introduced as a part of the program as well. It is due to the limited time frame of the training program, as well as its focus on the training method of environmental program. Based on the analysis of the evaluation results obtained through monitoring, the training program for professional development in environmental education is successful in terms of focusing the goal of the program around the environmental education/learning theory and environmental education teaching method, which was the motive of the participants. However, the effectiveness of the program differed from participants to participants based on their majors in environmental education, and it did not last long enough. The future training program for professional development in environmental education should consider the backgrounds of the program participants to have various programs prepared for various groups of people. We suggest that the results of this developed program will be applied to "environmental education teacher licence training" in the future.

The purpose of this research was made to suggest the improvement for problems of indication subject of Fisheries & Maritime High School teacher's certificate issued by the operation of the 7th national curriculum in 2000. After analyzing the integrated indication subjects related with fisheries & Maritime high school, among the middle school teacher's 24 subjects of industrial world, the problems and improvements can be arranged as followed. Firstly, the subjects of fisheries & Maritime high school teacher's certificates are fishing industry, aquiculture, sailing, engine and freezing and new subjects are ocean shipping and ocean logistics. Because the teacher's certificate was changed to integrated indication subjects, there were problems of teacher cultivation, teacher hiring, etc. So, in the actual field of school, teacher cultivating university and related department are necessary to strengthen high-quality majoring education/subjects and practical education as well as need to establish teacher cultivating system by teacher cultivating organization's evaluation system and teacher cultivating education program related by differentiation and easiness of majoring characterization. Secondly, teacher cultivating for new departments and new subjects can apply related major system, free major system, etc. Thirdly, if professional high schools find majoring areas whose content is same one another and introduce common indication subject system, it will be helpful to improve the quality of teachers, teacher certification examination, etc. of professional area.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the validity of teacher evaluation policy for professional development and to suggest the ways to improve the policy in school. The teacher evaluation policy for professional development is designed to improve teacher professionalism and quality of school education. For this purpose, A survey was conducted and 361 elementary and middle school teachers participated in Busan. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0. The conclusions of this study are as follows: First, although teachers are highly interested in the teacher evaluation policy, they have negative attitudes for practicing the new policy. Second, assessors must be composed of reliable, competent experts because teacher evaluation has a great influence on teaching activities. The assessors should be composed of those who have the specialization and reliability on the basis. Also the assessors must be trained to enhance the fairness, objectivity and reliability by rigid discipline. Finally, teacher evaluation policy should be closely linked to increasing teacher's expertise such as training opportunities, teacher consultants, and senior teacher systems and should be widely utilized for the evaluation to be effective.
This research aims at exploring what Korean teachers of English need for their effective professional development, particularly from the perspectives of peer trainers who are school teachers as well as teacher trainers. The research is based on an assumption that despite the critical roles of peer trainers in the changing process of English education, very little attention has been paid to listening to their voices. Having an awareness of the meaningfulness of their voices in teacher education, the researcher collected and analyzed the data, employing a questionnaire responded by 32 peer trainers and in-depth group interview with 6 peer trainers who responded the questionnaire. The research findings suggest that the majority of peer trainers believe that the priority should be put on teaching practice rather than language competence for Korean English language teacher development. It has been found that they believe that teacher learning within the workplace with some support from outside experts is the most effective way of making classroom change possible and keeping teachers' professional development sustainable. Finally, the research suggests school-based professional development as an alternative strategy to satisfy their needs on effective and sustainable professional development.

There were many studies on the science teacher. Also, there were many researches on the science teacher education. What seems to be needed is more analysis and synthesis of these results. In this study, the results of preceding-research were analyzed and categorized. The study subjects were preceding-researches published on the 'Journal of the Korean Association for Research in Science Education' and the 'Science Education' of America. The results of this study were as follows : The trend of research on science teacher and teacher education became more various and diverse. The domain of research were categorized in three : (1) Teacher Character(of Cognitive and Affective), (2) Teacher Education(of in-service and pre-service ), (3) Professional Practice (of Teaching). The implication of this study was that it was more necessary to investigate on the teacher's teaching strategies.
