Surface interactions between two of the main periodontal pathogens: Porphyromonas gingivalis and Tannerella forsythia

  • Purpose: Porphyromonas gingivalis and Tannerella forsythia have been implicated as the major etiologic agents of periodontal disease. These two bacteria are frequently isolated together from the periodontal lesion, and it has been suggested that their interaction may increase each one's virulence potential. The purpose of this study was to identify proteins on the surface of these organisms that are involved in interbacterial binding. Methods: Biotin labeling of surface proteins of P. gingivalis and T. forsythia and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis was performed to identify surface proteins involved in the coaggregating activity between P. gingivalis and T. forsythia. Results: It was found that three major T. forsythia proteins sized 161, 100, and 62 kDa were involved in binding to P. gingivalis, and P. gingivalis proteins sized 35, 32, and 26 kDa were involved in binding to T. forsythia cells. Conclusions: LC-MS/MS analysis identified one T. forsythia surface protein (TonB-linked outer membrane protein) involved in interbacterial binding to P. gingivalis. However, the nature of other T. forsythia and P. gingivalis surface proteins identified by biotin labeling could not be determined. Further analysis of these proteins will help elucidate the molecular mechanisms that mediate coaggregation between P. gingivalis and T. forsythia.

Patient's Characteristics Influencing Patient's Comprehensibleness of Doctor's Explanation (의사의 진료설명 이해 용이성에 영향을 미치는 환자의 특성)

  • Purpose:The purpose of this study was to identify the patient's characteristics influencing patient's comprehensibleness of doctor's explanation. Methods: This study was conducted as a secondary data analysis using the raw data of The 6th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES VI) conducted in 2015. The survey sampled 22,948 adults, and 4,469 of them were included in this analysis. Multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the patient's characteristics influencing patient's comprehensibleness of doctor's explanation. Results: The patient's comprehensibleness of doctor's explanation were more higher as age (t=5.65, p<.001), female (t=4.40, p<.001), subjective good health status (t=3.48, p=.001) were higher. On the other hand, the patient's comprehensibleness of doctor's explanation were more higher education level (t=-6.80, p<.001), not-recent outpatient experience (t=-6.04, p<.001), pain/discomfort (t=-2.64, p=.008), anxiety/depression (t=-2.58, p=.010) were lower. Conclusion:It is necessary to be provided the patients who are higher education level, pain/discomfort and anxiety/depression with applying the doctor's detailed explanation and intervention programs.

  • As computer performance is leveled upward, the use of IoT systems is gradually expanding. Although IoT systems are used in many fields, it is true that it is difficult to build a safe system due to performance limitations. To overcome these limitations, many researchers have proposed numerous protocols to improve security issues. Among them, Azrour et al. except. We proposed a new efficient and secure authentication protocol for remote healthcare systems in a cloud-based IoT environment, and claimed that the new protocol could solve the security vulnerabilities of the existing protocols and was more efficient. However, in this paper, through the security analysis of the remote healthcare system in the cloud-based IoT environment proposed by Azrour et al., the protocol of this system was found to be vulnerable to Masquerade attack, Lack of Perfect Forward Secrecy, Off-line password guessing attack, and Replay attack.

Construction of an Internet of Things Industry Chain Classification Model Based on IRFA and Text Analysis

  • With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) and big data technology, a large amount of data will be generated during the operation of related industries. How to classify the generated data accurately has become the core of research on data mining and processing in IoT industry chain. This study constructs a classification model of IoT industry chain based on improved random forest algorithm and text analysis, aiming to achieve efficient and accurate classification of IoT industry chain big data by improving traditional algorithms. The accuracy, precision, recall, and AUC value size of the traditional Random Forest algorithm and the algorithm used in the paper are compared on different datasets. The experimental results show that the algorithm model used in this paper has better performance on different datasets, and the accuracy and recall performance on four datasets are better than the traditional algorithm, and the accuracy performance on two datasets, P-I Diabetes and Loan Default, is better than the random forest model, and its final data classification results are better. Through the construction of this model, we can accurately classify the massive data generated in the IoT industry chain, thus providing more research value for the data mining and processing technology of the IoT industry chain.

A Study On IoT Data Consistency in IoT Environment (사물인터넷 환경에서 IoT 데이터 정합성 연구)

  • As the IoT technology is more developed, it is more important for the accuracy of IoT data. Since the IoT data supports a different formats and protocols, it is often happened that the IoT system is failed or the incorrect data is generated with the unreliable IoT devices(sensor, actuator). Because the abnormality of IoT device or the user situation is not detected correctly, this problem makes the user to be unsatisfied with the IoT system. This study proposes the decision methodology of IoT data consistency whether the IoT data is generated in normal range or not by using the mathematical functions('gradient descent function' and 'linear regression function'). It may be concluded that the gradient function method is suitable for the IoT data which the 'increasing velocity' is related with the next generated pattern(eg. sensor devices), the linear regression function method is suitable for the IoT data which the 'the difference from linear regression function' is related with the next generated pattern in case the data has a linear pattern(eg. water meter, electric meter).

Feasibility of Novel Three-Dimensional Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting of the Prostate Gland: Phantom and Clinical Studies

  • Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of a new three-dimensional (3D) MR fingerprinting (MRF) technique for the prostate gland by conducting phantom and clinical studies. Materials and Methods: The new 3D MRF technique used in this study enables quick data acquisition and has a high resolution. For the phantom study, the MRF T1 and T2 values in an in-house phantom were compared with those of goldstandard mapping methods using linear regression analysis. For the clinical study, we evaluated 90 patients who underwent prostate imaging with MRF for suspected prostate cancer between September 2019 and February 2020. The mean T1 and T2 values were compared in the peripheral zone, transition zone, and focal lesions using paired t tests. The differences in the T1 and T2 values according to cancer aggressiveness were evaluated using one-way analysis of variance. Results: In the phantom study, the MRF T1 and T2 values showed a perfect correlation with the gold-standard T1 and T2 values (R > 0.99). In the clinical study, the T1 and T2 values in the peripheral zone were significantly higher than those in the transitional zone (p < 0.001, both). The T1 and T2 values in prostate cancer were significantly lower than those in the peripheral and transitional zones. The higher the grade of cancer, the lower the T2 values. Conclusion: The T1 and T2 values obtained from the 3D MRF showed a perfect correlation with the gold standard values in the phantom study. Differences in the T1 and T2 values among the different zones of the prostate gland were identified using 3D MRF in patients.

  • $^{27}AI$ triple quantum magic angle spinning (3QMAS) NMR spectra of several mordenite (MOR) sample were simulated with the point charge model method and compared with experimental 3QMAS spectra. Signal positions from different tetrahedral (T) sites in 3QMAS spectra are mainly governed by local structures of T sites such as T-O-T angles and T-O bond lengths. When preparation methods, cations in addition to Si/Al rations vary, the local structures of T sites in MOR change enough to alter signal patterns in 3QMAS of MOR. This inhibits to study the of Al distribution variation over 4 different T sites in mordenite during process such as dealumination by 3QMAS spectra.

  • This paper proposes an efficient beam-shell modeling technique for the free vibration analysis of a T-joint thin-walled beam structure. Except a small portion of a T-joint which is modeled by shell elements, the structure is modeled by thin-walled beam elements that can describe warping and distortion. In order to match the shell and thin-walled beam elements at the interface of the dissimilar elements, a technique based on a pseudo inverse matrix is formulated. This paper also examines the role of the thin-walled element taking into account the distortion and warping deformation degrees of freedom in predicting accurately the dynamic characteristics of a T-joint thin-walled structure.

  • This research investigates the export strategy for pioneering a new market of Advanced Pilot Trainer T-50, a business unit of KAI company, and increasing its market share. The export strategy is proposed based on the Corporate Marketing Model along with the market oriented concept. Specific sales strategies are extracted in consideration of product analysis, market analysis, and integration of product and target market. Therefore, six countries in Africa are selected as the primary target markets on account of their market potentials. In addition, T-50 is repositioned to 'T-50Af' as 'high price competitive and multi-role trainer.' The business implications include the expansion of the market in Africa and the pursuit of the consistent development and growth of T-50.

  • The seismic performance of structural walls subjected to the cyclic lateral loads are influenced by various factors, like sectional shape, aspect ratio, reinforcement ratio, arrangement of reinforcement, and axial load ratio etc. In this research, reinforced concrete structural walls with the T-shaped cross section were selected. The seismic performance of T-shaped wall was affected by the many (actors because T-shaped wall is irregular wall composed to two rectangular walls. Especially the seismic performance of T-shaped wall varies with the flange condition and the various factors including the flange condition were determined. Therefore, the objective of this study is to understand the factors to improve seismic performance of RC T-shaded tv using sectional analysis.
