  • The sedative, antipyretic, analgesic and anticonvulsive action, action on the isolated ileum in mice, retricting action on edema, action on blood pressure and respiration of Sipmidojuksan were evaluated. The results were as follows; sedative effects were recognized by the unbalanced effects of spontaneous momentum by wheel cage method, muscle relaxing action by rotor rod method and prolongation of sleeping hours. In mice, a significant antipyretic effect to endotoxin was recognized. Significant anagesic effects by acetic acid and Randall-Sellito method were recognized. Significant anticonvulsive effects to strychnine and picrotoxin were recognized. Spontaneous momentum of isolated ileum in mice was restricted, and relaxing effects on smooth muscle of digestive organ were noted by anti-acetylcholine, anti-barium chloride and anti-histamine effects. Significant antiedemic effects to carrageenin and histamine were recognized. Dilatation of blood vessels and decrease of blood pressure were noted.

Spatio-temporal Semantic Features for Human Action Recognition

  • Most approaches to human action recognition is limited due to the use of simple action datasets under controlled environments or focus on excessively localized features without sufficiently exploring the spatio-temporal information. This paper proposed a framework for recognizing realistic human actions. Specifically, a new action representation is proposed based on computing a rich set of descriptors from keypoint trajectories. To obtain efficient and compact representations for actions, we develop a feature fusion method to combine spatial-temporal local motion descriptors by the movement of the camera which is detected by the distribution of spatio-temporal interest points in the clips. A new topic model called Markov Semantic Model is proposed for semantic feature selection which relies on the different kinds of dependencies between words produced by "syntactic " and "semantic" constraints. The informative features are selected collaboratively based on the different types of dependencies between words produced by short range and long range constraints. Building on the nonlinear SVMs, we validate this proposed hierarchical framework on several realistic action datasets.

  • 본 연구에서는 데이터마이닝 기법을 이용하여 네트워크 사용자의 행동 패턴을 분석하는 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 시스템 구현을 위해 네트워크 탭 장비를 사내 네트워크에 설치하여 패킷을 복제한다. 복제된 패킷은 고속의 메인 메모리DB를 통하여 데이터베이스에 저장된다. 저장 된 데이터는 데이터 마이닝 기법을 이용하여 행동패턴을 분석하고 네트워크 관리자에게 실시간 보고한다. 또한 이기종간의 데이터를 공유하기 위해 표준의 XML 문서 교환 방식을 적용한다. 행동패턴 분석 시스템은 추후 저가 구현 및 쉬운 설치를 고려하여 임베디드형 셋톱박스 기반을 제안한다.

SWOT분석을 토대로 한 서비스 FMEA에서의 개선조치전략 (Corrective Action Strategy based on SWOT Analysis in Service FMEA)

  • Service FMEA may yield several possible corrective actions for each failure mode with large RPN. Corrective actions for each service failure are usually interrelated with the customers and environmental elements of the service system. SWOT analysis can provide an effective way to analyze the inner and outer environmental impacts for each corrective action. In this paper, we suggest a way for selecting and ranking corrective strategy in service operation based on SWOT analysis. Every candidate of corrective action strategy is ranked and evaluated on the basis of the impact factors of the SWOT variables, correlations between possible corrective actions and SWOT variables, and RPNs of service failures. The most desirable set of corrective actions is selected considering the preference score of each corrective action, required resources and budgetary allowance. The proposed methodology is demonstrated with an illustrative example.

  • To facilitate a better understanding of the benefits, problems, and issues associated with the use of Internet and (World Wide) Web in business, we conducted an exploratory study on the use of Internet and Web by Small and Medium Enterprise(SME) using the Action-Audience Model. The Action-Audience model categorizes business use of the Web: to provide information (Informational Web), to carry out business transactions (Transactional Web), and to support business activities (Operational Web). The model also recognizes different audiences of the Web. The study shows that SMEs are in the early stage of Web use.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a Home Economics curriculum for high school students based on practical problems focusing on Food and Nutrition. This study developed practical-problem based approach to curriculum development. This curriculum provided a series of the objectives, contents, learning activities, and assessments. The objectives were divided into process objectives and content objectives. The objectives focused on three systems of action which were technical action, communicative action, and emancipatory action. The contents of this curriculum focused on three practical problems; 1) What should I do regarding my well-being\ulcorner ; 2) What should I do regarding my family’s well-being\ulcorner ; 3) What should I do regarding my society’s well-being\ulcorner The cooperative learning strategies were mainly used in this curriculum. Students were assessed through learning experiences and achievement.

  • Recently conventional artificial intelligence(AI) approaches have been employed to build action selectors for the autonomous mobile robot(AMR). However, in these approaches, the decision making process to choose an action from multiple competence modules is still an open question. Many researches have been focused on the reactive planning systems such as the biological immune system. In this paper, we attempt to construct an action selector for an AMR based on the artificial immune network and internet. The information from vision sensors is used for antibody. We propose a learning method for artificial immune network using evolutionary algorithm to produce antibody automatically. The internet environment for an AMR action selector shows the usefulness of the proposed learning artificial immune network application.

인문지리학 방법론의 새로운 지평 (New horizon of geographical method)

  • In this paper, I consider the development of methods in contemporary human geography in terms of a dialectical relation of action and structure, and try to draw a new horizon of method toward which geographical research and spatial theory would develop. The positivist geography which was dominent during 1960s has been faced both with serious internal reflections and strong external criticisms in the 1970s. The internal reflections that pointed out its ignorance of spatial behavior of decision-makers and its simplication of complex spatial relations have developed behavioural geography and systems-theoretical approach. Yet this kinds of alternatives have still standed on the positivist, geography, even though they have seemed to be more real and complicate than the previous one, The external criticisms that have argued against the positivist method as phenomenalism and instrumentalism suggest some alternatives: humanistic geography which emphasizes intention and action of human subject and meaning-understanding, and structuralist geography which stresses on social structure as a totality which would produce spatial phenomena, and a theoretical formulation. Human geography today can be characterized by a strain and conflict between these methods, and hence rezuires a synthetic integration between them. Philosophy and social theory in general are in the same in which theories of action and structural analysis have been complementary or conflict with each other. Human geography has fallen into a further problematic with the introduction of a method based on so-called political ecnomy. This method has been suggested not merely as analternative to the positivist geography, but also as a theoretical foundation for critical analysis of space. The political economy of space with has analyzed the capitalist space and tried to theorize its transformation may be seen either as following humanistic(or Hegelian) Marxism, such as represented in Lefebvre's work, or as following structuralist Marxism, such as developed in Castelles's or Harvey's work. The spatial theory following humanistic Marxism has argued for a dialectic relation between 'the spatial' and 'the social', and given more attention to practicing human agents than to explaining social structures. on the contray, that based on structuralist Marxism has argued for social structures producing spatial phenomena, and focused on theorising the totality of structures, Even though these two perspectives tend more recently to be convergent in a way that structuralist-Marxist. geographers relate the domain of economic and political structures with that of action in their studies of urban culture and experience under capitalism, the political ecnomy of space needs an integrated method with which one can overcome difficulties of orthhodox Marxism. Some novel works in philosophy and social theory have been developed since the end of 1970s which have oriented towards an integrated method relating a series of concepts of action and structure, and reconstructing historical materialism. They include Giddens's theory of structuration, foucault's geneological analysis of power-knowledge, and Habermas's theory of communicative action. Ther are, of course, some fundamental differences between these works. Giddens develops a theory which relates explicitly the domain of action and that of structure in terms of what he calls the 'duality of structure', and wants to bring time-space relations into the core of social theory. Foucault writes a history in which strategically intentional but nonsubjective power relations have emerged and operated by virtue of multiple forms of constrainst wihthin specific spaces, while refusing to elaborate any theory which would underlie a political rationalization. Habermas analyzes how the Western rationalization of ecnomic and political systems has colonized the lifeworld in which we communicate each other, and wants to formulate a new normative foundation for critical theory of society which highlights communicatie reason (without any consideration of spatial concepts). On the basis of the above consideration, this paper draws a new norizon of method in human geography and spatial theory, some essential ideas of which can be summarized as follows: (1) the concept of space especially in terms of its relation to sociery. Space is not an ontological entity whch is independent of society and has its own laws of constitution and transformation, but it can be produced and reproduced only by virtue of its relation to society. Yet space is not merlely a material product of society, but also a place and medium in and through which socety can be maintained or transformed.(2) the constitution of space in terms of the relation between action and structure. Spatial actors who are always knowledgeable under conditions of socio-spatial structure produce and reproduce their context of action, that is, structure; and spatial structures as results of human action enable as well as constrain it. Spatial actions can be distinguished between instrumental-strategicaction oriented to success and communicative action oriented to understanding, which (re)produce respectively two different spheres of spatial structure in different ways: the material structure of economic and political systems-space in an unknowledged and unitended way, and the symbolic structure of social and cultural life-space in an acknowledged and intended way. (3) the capitalist space in terms of its rationalization. The ideal development of space would balance the rationalizations of system space and life-space in a way that system space providers material conditions for the maintainance of the life-space, and the life-space for its further development. But the development of capitalist space in reality is paradoxical and hence crisis-ridden. The economic and poltical system-space, propelled with the steering media like money, and power, has outstriped the significance of communicative action, and colonized the life-space. That is, we no longer live in a space mediated communicative action, but one created for and by money and power. But no matter how seriously our everyday life-space has been monetalrized and bureaucratised, here lies nevertheless the practical potential which would rehabilitate the meaning of space, the meaning of our life on the Earth.

대전 액션 게임을 위한 신경망 지능 캐릭터의 구현 (An Implementation of Neural Networks Intelligent Characters for Fighting Action Games)

  • 본 논문에서는 신경망을 이용하여 대전 액션 게임의 캐릭터들을 지능화하는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적인 대전 액션 게임에서 어떤 행동은 여러 개의 시간 단위에 걸쳐 이루어진다. 그러므로 캐릭터의 어떤 행동에 대한 결과는 곧바로 나타나지 않고 몇 개의 시간 단위가 지난 후에 나타난다. 이러한 캐릭터들에 적합한 신경망을 설계하기 위해서는 신경망을 학습시키는 시점을 결정하는 것과 더불어 학습 시에 사용되는 입력과 출력 값을 선정하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 캐릭터의 행동의 적합도를 게임 점수의 변화로 평가한다. 그러므로 게임 점수의 변화가 생길 때마다 신경망은 학습된다. 학습을 위해서는 우선 그 변화를 야기한 이전의 결정을 파악하고, 그 당시의 입력값, 출력값, 그리고 현재의 점수의 변화를 이용하여 신경망을 학습시킨다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하기 위하여 여러 실험을 간단한 (하지만 실제 게임과 매우 유사한) 게임 환경에서 수행하였다. 실험 결과 학습 초기에는 무작위의 캐릭터에 대해 점수를 획득하지 못하던 지능 캐릭터가 제안된 알고리즘으로 학습하면 최대 3.6 배의 점수를 획득하는 성능을 보였다. 그러므로 제안된 지능 캐릭터가 게임의 규칙과 기술을 학습하는 능력이 있는 것으로 결론지을 수 있다. 제안된 알고리즘은 온라인 게임과 같이 캐릭터들이 서로 대결하는 게임들에 적용할 수 있다.

The Kinematic Factors of Physical Motions During Air Pistol Shooting

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the kinematic factors of motion during air pistol shooting. Method: This study aimed to investigate changes in forces during movement and determine the factors that affect changes in force during the first, middle, and last periods of shooting an air pistol. Two ground reaction force systems (force platform), SCATT (a shooting training system), and EMG (electromyogram) to measure the action potentials in the muscles of the upper body were used in this study. Four university air pistol players (age: 19.75 years, height: 175.50 cm, body mass: $69.55{\pm}11.50kg$, career length: $6.25{\pm}6years$) who are training to progress to a higher rank were enrolled. Results: In terms of the actual shooting results, the mean score in the middle section was $42.48{\pm}1.74$ points, higher than those in the first and the last periods when using SCATT. The gunpoint moved 13.48 mm more vertically than horizontally in the target trajectory. With respect to action potentials of muscles measured using EMG, the highest action potentials during the aiming-shooting segments, in order higher to lower, were seen in the trapezius (intermediate region), trapezius (superior region), deltoid (lateral), and triceps brachii (long head). The action potentials of biceps brachii and brachioradialis turned out to be high during grasping motion, which is a preparatory stage. During the final segment, muscle fatigue appeared in the deltoid (lateral), biceps brachii (long head), brachioradialis, and trapezius (intermediate region). In terms of the ground reaction force, during the first period of shooting, there was a major change in the overall direction (left-right $F_x$, forward-backward $F_y$, vertical $F_z$) of the center of the mass. Conclusion: The development and application of a training program focusing on muscle groups with higher muscle fatigue is required for players to progress to a higher rank. Furthermore, players can improve their records in the first period if they take part in a game after warming up sufficiently before shooting in order to heighten muscle action potentials, and are expected to maintain a consistent shooting motion continuously by restoring psychological stability.
