Some gate valves are susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding which prevent the safety function. The safety related gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding shall be identified and taken preventive actions to ensure the safety function. The identification of the gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding needs the evaluation of system design, valve and piping arrangement, test requirements, and operating conditions. Application of preventive methods should consider the system safety function, applicability, effectiveness, interface with system design, and cost. The selection procedure of valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding can be effectively used in industry including nuclear power plants. In order to prevent the pressure locking, the hole can be drilled through the one disc of upstream side or down stream and the external equalizing line can be installed from bonnet to downstream or upstream. The double disc parallel seat valve type can be used instead of flexible wedge gate valve to prevent the thermal binding. The identification of gate valves susceptible to pressure locking and thermal binding, and preventive actions will meet the regulatory requirements and enhance the availability and safety of plants.

Integrated construction site management using RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and facility maintenance introducing USN (Ubiquitous Sensor Network) have been widely used in the mega construction project sites. But, the validation on performance of RFID systems after introducing those has not been carried out. Given that the use of RFID systems have been increased, the construction industry as well as other industries needs the evaluation of the RFID system. By regarding the necessities for evaluation, a research to the satisfaction and importance evaluation of RFID system from the end-users' view point for site management was conducted. Satisfaction-importance matrix of satisfaction standards and importance standards was created (organised) according to the analysis result of a survey, proposed improvement methods and analysis about the items presented by each region like areas of sustainable maintenance, maintenance, progressive improvement and priority improvement. The result would contribute to enhance the utilization of system and its performance.

Recently, the important of a personal identification is increasing according to expansion using each on-line commercial transaction and personal ID-card. Although a personal ID-card embedded RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tag is gradually increased, the way for a person's identification is deficiency. So we need automatic methods. Because RFID tag is vary small storage capacity of memory, it needs effective feature extraction method to store personal biometrics information. We need new recognition method to compare each feature. In this paper, we studied the face verification system using Hippocampal neuron modeling algorithm which can remodel the hippocampal neuron as a principle of a man's brain in engineering, then it can learn the feature vector of the face images very fast. and construct the optimized feature each image. The system is composed of two parts mainly. One is feature extraction using NMF(Non-negative Matrix Factorization) and LDA(Linear Discriminants Analysis) mixture algorithm and the other is hippocampal neuron modeling and recognition simulation experiments confirm the each recognition rate, that are face changes, pose changes and low-level quality image. The results of experiments, we can compare a feature extraction and learning method proposed in this paper of any other methods, and we can confirm that the proposed method is superior to the existing method.
Background: Radiation portal monitors (RPMs) involving plastic scintillators installed at the border inspection sites can detect illicit trafficking of radioactive sources in cargo containers within seconds. However, RPMs may generate false alarms because of the naturally occurring radioactive materials. To manage these false alarms, we previously suggested an energy-weighted algorithm that emphasizes the Compton-edge area as an outstanding peak. This study intends to evaluate the identification of radioactive sources using an improved energy-weighted algorithm. Materials and Methods: The algorithm was modified by increasing the energy weighting factor, and different peak combinations of the energy-weighted spectra were tested for source identification. A commercialized RPM system was used to measure the energy-weighted spectra. The RPM comprised two large plastic scintillators with dimensions of 174 × 29 × 7 ㎤ facing each other at a distance of 4.6 m. In addition, the in-house-fabricated signal processing boards were connected to collect the signal converted into a spectrum. Further, the spectra from eight radioactive sources, including special nuclear materials (SNMs), which were set in motion using a linear motion system (LMS) and a cargo truck, were estimated to identify the source identification rate. Results and Discussion: Each energy-weighted spectrum exhibited a specific peak location, although high statistical fluctuation errors could be observed in the spectrum with the increasing source speed. In particular, 137Cs and 60Co in motion were identified completely (100%) at speeds of 5 and 10 km/hr. Further, SNMs, which trigger the RPM alarm, were identified approximately 80% of the time at both the aforementioned speeds. Conclusion: Using the modified energy-weighted algorithm, several characteristics of the energy weighted spectra could be observed when the used sources were in motion and when the geometric efficiency was low. In particular, the discrimination between 60Co and 40K, which triggers false alarms at the primary inspection sites, can be improved using the proposed algorithm.

The rapid digitalization has highlighted the importance of identifying and managing online resources. Especially, the need for a systematic identification system for the efficient distribution and preservation of digital content is growing. This study aims to respond to these contemporary demands by investigating the current state of identification systems for online resources and exploring more systematic management and utilization methods through linking these systems with legal deposit. To achieve this, the study surveyed the identification systems and their issuance status for online resources and analyzed prior research related to these online resources. Based on the analysis, the proposed strategies for linking with legal deposit can be summarized into three categories: First, to prioritize and enhance the utilization of legal deposit, strategies are required to strengthen the mutual complementarity of deposit and use, to assign priorities to certain deposits, and to increase the usability of deposited materials. Second, as strategies based on international standard numbers for linking with legal deposit, it is necessary to integrate ISBN and UCI in the deposit process, to link international standard resource numbers with deposit, to interconnect metadata between international standard numbers and UCI, to integrate UCI and ICN, and to introduce automation technology for upgrading the deposit system. Third, to effectively implement the aforementioned strategies, policy support is essential. This includes enhancing the role of the Korean Bibliographic Standards Center, strengthening cooperation with publishers, compensating for deposited materials, and increasing awareness and institutional compensation for the legal deposit system.

The plant-pathogenic species S. scabies, S. acidiscabies, and S. turgidiscabies cause the scab disease of potato and produce the phytotoxins, thaxtomins. necl, a gene conferring a necrogenic phenotype, is involved in pathogenicity and physically linked to the thaxtomin A biosynthetic genes. Identification of the pathogenic strains of Streptomyces from soil was performed through the polymerase chain reaction by using specific pathogenicity primer sets derived from the necl gene sequences of Streptomyces smbies. The DNA was extracted from soil using a bead-beating machine and modifications of the FastPrep system. The DNA was suitable for direct use in the PCR. The PCR products showed the bands of approximately 460 bp. This methods can be very usuful in identifying species responsible for scab diseases and studying on the ecology of plant-pathogenic Streptomyces spp.

Many diverse methods have been developing in the field of biometric identification as human-friendliness has been emphasized in the intelligent system's area. One of emerging method is to use human footprint. Automated footprint-based person recognition was started by Nakajima et al.'s research but they showed relatively low recognition result by low spatial resolution of pressure sensor and standing posture. In this paper, we proposed a modified Nakajima's method to use walking footprint which could give more stable toe information than standing posture. Finally, we prove the usefulness of proposed method as 91.4tt recognition rate in 11 volunteers' test.
Objectives To evaluate the effectiveness of allergic rhinitis treatment, and to set the ground in clinical studies, adequate outcome measures must be established. Thus, this study was designed to develop useful criteria based on those that have been suggested, and those that we are using today. Methods To assess outcome measures used in allergic rhinitis in Korean medicine, related articles found in Korea Traditional Knowledge Portal from 2000-2015 were evaluated. Then pattern identification and outcome measures were reviewed in each study. Results Among 27 studies, we have found 24 studies used subjective symptoms as outcome measures, 9 studies used quality of life, and most of allergic rhinitis were caused by Spleen-Gi deficiency. Conclusions It is necessary to develop outcome measures that directly reflect pattern identifications in Korean medicine, and those measures need to be further evaluated for their applicability, validity and sensitivity.

Sound intensity distributions and energy flow in the near field of dipole source system and flat plate were investigated. First, the effectiveness of complex acoustic intensity was proved by using mathmatical and experimental methods in order to indentify noise sources and transmission paths of dipole field which is effected by the presence of neighbouring coherent sources. Next, analytical complex acoustic intensity method was discussed and the characteristics and energy flow of sound induced from the plate are clarified. The velocity of plate obtained from Finite Element Method was used for calculation of complex acoustic intensity in the near field. Finally experimental complex acoustic intensity method was applied to a passenger car. It can be seen that complex acoustic intensity method using both of active and reactive intensity is vital in devising a strategy for the identification and the reduction of vibration and noise.
