칼만 필터를 이용한 이동 로봇의 간이 복합 항법 시스템 설계 (A Design of a Simplified Hybrid Navigation System for a Mobile Robot by Using Kalman Filter)

  • In this paper, a simple version of the hybrid navigation system using Kalman filter is proposed. The implemented hybrid navigation system is composed of a GPS to measure the position and the velocity, and a IMU(inertial measurement unit) to measure the acceleration and the posture of a mobile robot. A discrete Kalman filter is applied to provide the position of the robot by fusing both of the sensor data. When GPS signal is available, the navigation system estimates the position of the robot from the Kalman filter using position and velocity from GPS, and acceleration from IMU. During the interval until next GPS signal arrives, the system calculates the position of the robot using acceleration from IMU and velocity obtained at the previous step. Performance of the navigation system is verified by comparing the real path and the estimated path of the mobile robot. From experiments, we conclude that the navigation system is acceptable for the mobile robot.

  • Accurate river discharge is the most important factor in managing river basins and for successfully maintaining total maximum daily loads in Korea. It is not easy to measure the discharge directly in large rivers owing to physical and environmental constraints, even after investing much time and money. Recently, to overcome these historical drawbacks in river discharge measurement, we have developed the Automatic Discharge Acquisition & Management System (ADAMS) that scans the river cross-section and measures each cell $(1m{\times}1m)$ velocity using HADCP. The hardware system is composed of an HADCP sensor and winch, as well as a PC and software system for the discharge calculation module and hardware control module. It is controlled remotely via the internet and uses the velocity-depth integration method and the velocity-contour method for calculating river discharges. The characteristics of ADAMS are a ubiquitously accessible system, featuring real time automatic discharge measurement, remote control via the internet. The results using ADAMS at the Jindong stage site show less than 5% uncertainty and are 4 times more efficient than the ADCP & Q-boat system. This system can be used to measure any large river, river mouth or tributary river affected by backwater, all of which have a very difficult measuring real time discharge. The next generation of ADAMS will feature an upgrade to increase portability and GPS integration.

수치해석에 의한 국부냉방시스템의 온열환경 및 쾌적성 분석 (Numerical Analysis of Thermal Environments and Comfort for Local Air Conditioning System)

  • Numerical simulation using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is performed to calculate the velocities and temperature profiles of air in adjacent to a worker within the individual local air conditioning system. The calculation domain is the space of ㄴ between walls and a worker in the climate room. The fresh air is supplied from the three different inlets located on the right, left and center wall in the climate room. In this study, the calculated data of velocities and temperature profiles of air in the nearest the skin of a worker are used to calculate the PMV (Predicted Mean Vote) for evaluation of thermal comfort of a worker in the local air conditioning system. Because the data of veto-cities temperature profiles of air in adjacent to a worker and the PMV of a worker are the design parameters of the local air conditioning system. The results of calculation show that the fresh air velocity and injection position are closely related to the PMV value. In individual air condition system of ㄴ, the appropriate PMV are obtained when the fresh air velocity and position are 1.0 m/s, throat of a worker and are 1.5 m/s, head of a worker, respectively. The method of numerical calculation is effective to obtain the optimum velocity and position of the fresh air for optimum the PMV and energy saving in individual local air conditioning system.

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 주사바늘을 이용하여 종자를 흡입하고 트레이 상부에서 배기하여 트레이의 셀에 종자를 파종하고 있는 방식의 자동 파종 시스템에 대하여, 작업 능률을 향상시키기 위하여 진공상태의 드럼에 종자를 흡입시켜 회전하면서 트레이에 종자를 배출하게 되는 고속의 시스템을 구현하였다. 트레이를 이송시켜주는 컨베이어 벨트는 상부의 부하의 변화 또는 장치의 마모 등 시간이 지남에 따라 속도가 변할 수 있으므로 속도에 맞추어 드럼의 회전 속도를 자동으로 제어하기 위한 알고리즘을 구현하고 구현된 알고리즘에 따라 드럼을 회전시키기 위한 스테핑 모터의 펄스를 제어하는 회로를 구성하여 시스템을 설계하였다.

박용디젤기관의 대기오염 저감을 위한 습식 회전형 다공성 디스크 시스템의 집진특성 (Collection characteristics of wet-type rotating porous disk system for air pollutants removal of marine diesel engines)

  • The main object of this study is to investigate the collection characteristics of wet-type rotating porous disk system experimentally. The experiment is carried out to analyze the pressure drop and collection efficiency for the present system with the experimental parameters such as system inlet velocity, stage number, tube diameter, inlet concentration, etc. In results, for the present system, at 5 stage and ${\upsilon}_{in}=1.8m/s$, the pressure drop becomes significantly lower as $64mmH_2O$ in comparison with that of the conventional wet type scrubber (Venturi scrubber, over $250mmH_2O$). The collection efficiencies increase with higher inlet velocity showing 92, 95.7, 98.4%, while $SO_2$ removal efficiencies decrease with increment of inlet velocity as 80, 65, 50% at ${\upsilon}_{in}=1.08$, 1.44, 1.8 m/s and tube diameter $D_t=10mm$, respectively. The present system is to be considered as an effective compact system for a simultaneous removal of particle/gas phase pollutants from marine diesel engines.

  • In this paper, a multigate pulsed doppler system with parallel signal processing which enables the transcutaneous assesment of the blood-flow velocities of five adjacent sample volumes is developed. The outputs of the system are audio signals, velocity curves and velocity profiles of 5 adjacent sample volumes. We have applied to the major superficial arteries and obtained the detailed information about the time dependent blood-flow behavior.

  • Recently, GPS device is used in various industries. GPS can calculate a moving train's velocity, location, and direction. In this paper, we examine a train approaching alarm device's application, possibility, and merits in the train system. Especially, we investigate solubility of trouble caused by using GPS and RF system for detecting the train's velocity, the location and direction recognition.

  • In this paper feedback linearization of valve-controlled nonlinear hydraulic velocity control system is studied. The $C^{\infty}$ nonlinear transformation T is obtained, and it is shown that this transformation is global one. Linear equivalence of nonlinear hydraulic velocity control system is obtained by this global nonlinear transformation, and linear state feedback control law is applied to this linear model. It is shown that this transformation method is to the linear approximation by simulation study..

  • In order to search more efficient structural control algorithm, several closed-loop algorithm are developed. Among those, feedback control algorithm using parameters as displacement velocity, and acceleration has been studied. In this paper, especially the characteristics of accleration feedback is studied as more efficient control algorithm than any others. Furthermore the fact that ATMD with acceleration feedback system further reduce the variance of structural displacement rather than with displacement or velocity feedback system will be examined and proved.

The AUV design based on component modeling and simulation

  • In the present work, design procedure and computer simulation of an AUV are documented briefly. The design procedure containing the design of propulsion system and CFD simulation of hydrodynamics behavior of the hull leads to achieve an optimum mechanical performance of AUV system. After designing, a comprehensive one dimensional model including motor, propeller, and AUV hull behavior simulates the whole dynamics of AUV system. In this design, to select the optimum AUV hull, several noses and tails are examined by CFD tools and the brushless motor is selected based on the first order model of DC electrical motor. By calculating thrust and velocity in functional point, OpenProp as a tool to select the optimum propeller is applied and the characteristics of appropriate propeller are determined. Finally, a computer program is developed to simulate the interaction between different components of AUV. The simulation leads to determine the initial acceleration, final velocity, and angular velocity of electrical motor and propeller. Results show the final AUV performance point is in the maximum efficiency regions of DC electrical motor and propeller.
