  • A grid-connected distributed generation system which consists of engine generator, dc link with multiple energy sources and inverter is proposed. All six of the stator leads of the generator, which is a surface mount permanent magnet machine, are brought out to the terminal of the generator. Three leads are connected to the inverter and the others are connected to the utility grid. In this proposed system the power from the engine-generator and the power from dc link can be controlled simultaneously by only one three-phase power converter. A control algorithm for the system is developed and verified by experiment results.

  • It is proposed a new approach to the development of the automatic vision system to examine and repair the steam generator tubes at remote distance. In nuclear power plants, workers are reluctant of works in steam generator because of the high radiation environment and limited working space. It is strongly recommended that the examination and maintenance works be done by an automatic system for the protection of the operator from to radiation exposure. Digital signal processors are used in implementing real time recognition and examination of steam generator tubes in the proposed vision system. Performance of proposed digital vision system is illustrated by simulation and experiment for similar steam generator model.

  • This paper presents the analytical method to evaluate the seismic responses on steam turbine-generator rotor system. Deterministic analytical methods, such as response spectrum approach, modal superposition method and direct integration method, are used to calculate the seismic response. The computer software is also developed based on the methods then can be applied to estimate the seismic safety of turbine-generator rotor system for power plants. Numerical example of a steam turbine-generator rotor system of 1007MW nuclear power plant is presented. The aseismatic performance are checked by comparing maximum seismic deflection at bearing positions with bearing clearance.

  • 본 논문은 OFDM 시스템에서 주파수 옵셋을 제거하기 위한 회로를 Simulink로 설계하여 성능을 평가하고, FPGA 구현을 위해 System Generator로 설꼐하였다. System generator 모델을 바탕으로 HDL 코드를 생성하고, RTL schematic도 생성하였다. 그리고 Hardware Co-simulation 과정을 통해 Target Device에 로딩하여 성능 검증을 하였으며, 타이밍 해석과 resource량도 확인하였다.

  • On-line partial discharge monitoring system for generator stator insulation is developed. This system consists of remote and host units. The remote unit detects partial discharge signals from SSC(Stator Slot Coupler) installed between wedge and stator windings. The host unit monitors the condition of winding insulation. This system will be used as a module of a generator on-line monitoring system utilizing global network.

  • 본 연구에서는 고체 추진제의 가스 발생기를 이용한 발사시스템에 대하여 해석적 연구를 수행하였다. 가스발생기에서 발사관까지 모든 발사장치 내부의 열역학적 거동과 유도탄의 동적거동에 대하여 물리적인 모델을 수립하였고, 열손실 모델을 적용하였다. 발사시스템과 가스발생기 내의연소, 유동 및 열전달 과정이 수치적인 방법에 의해 모사되었다. 본 연구에서 제시된 이론적인 해석방법을 통해 사출 발사시스템의 성능 요구조건과 신뢰성을 만족시키는 가스발생기와 시스템의 최적 설계 조건을 도출하였다.

  • This paper presents an application of Differential Search (DS) meta-heuristic optimization algorithm for optimal operation of micro grid system. DS algorithm has the benefit of high convergence rate and precision compared to other optimization methods. The micro grid system consists of a wind turbine, a diesel generator, and a fuel cell. The simulation is applied to micro grid system only. The wind turbine generator is modeled by considering the characteristics of variable output. One day load data which is divided every 20 minute and wind resource for wind turbine generator are used for the study. The method using the proposed DS algorithm is easy to implement, and the results of the convergence performance are better than other optimization algorithms.

  • The emergency AC power supply system of the nuclear power plant is designed to supply the power to the nuclear power plant at the emergency operating condition. The safety function of the diesel generator at the nuclear power plant is to supply AC electric power to the safety system whenever the preferred AC power supply is unavailable. The reliable operation of onsite standby diesel generator should be ensured by a condition monitoring system designed to maintain, monitor and forecast the reliability level of diesel generator. The purpose of this paper is to improve the existing ultrasonic sensor used for condition diagnosis of engine fuel pump and cylinder head for the accurate diagnosis in actual engine condition of emergency diesel generator(EDG). As a result of this study, we could design and develop much more reliable ultrasonic sensor than existing ones.

  • This paper proposes a performance improvement of synchronous generator using exciter control with field coils parameter estimation technique. In general, the generator excitation system controller uses the PID controller. When the Field winding impedance changed, the PID gains must be changed. General method is difficult to apply varying capacity of the synchronous generator. The proposed control method determine automatically measure the internal impedance of the synchronous generator's exciter and configure the controller. This method can be applied regardless of the generator capacity. So it is possible to apply a variety of synchronous generator systems. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulations and experiments.

  • This paper defines a generator reactive reserve considering power system network. Conventional generator reserve is calculated by the difference between the maximum reactive power output of generator and the current reactive power of generator. However, all generators could not affect on the whole power system. Thus, the effective generators should be selected by sensitivity analysis. The sensitivity depends on network configuration is the relation between generator reactive power outputs and reactive power loads. Using the sensitivity, the effective generator reactive reserve can be calculated.
