힘센서를 이용한 후크형 손가락 힘 측정 장치 개발 (Development of a Hook-type Finger Force Measuring System with Force Sensors)

  • This paper presents a hook-type finger force measuring system with force sensors. The system is composed of a body, two three-axis force sensors, a hook, and so on. The two three-axis force sensors system was specially designed using FEM(Finite Element Method) and fabricated using strain-gages. The sensors measure the finger forces of both normal people and handicapped people in the system, and the forces are combined. The developed hook-type finger force measuring system can measure the pulling finger force of both normal and handicapped people. The pulling force tests of men and women were performed using the developed the system. It is thought that the developed system can be used to measure the pulling force of fingers.

GAITRite 시스템 분석을 통한 젊은층과 노년층의 보행특성 비교 (Comparison of Gait Characteristics in Young and Old Persons with GAITRite System Analysis)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to describe and compare the temporo-spatial gait characteristics of healthy young people with those of healthy elderly people. Methods: The data were collected by 40 volunteers. 20 subjects were between 20 and 31 years of age, and 20 subjects were between 65 and 84 years of age. Temporal and spatial parameters of gait were analysed for using the computerized GAITRite system. Results : The system integrates specific components of locomotion to provide a single, numerical representation of gait, the Functional Ambulation Performance score. Differences in gait characteristics between the two groups were examined using a correlated t-test(p<.05). Significant differences were observed between the groups for step length, step/extremity ratio and velocity. Young people demonstrated a significantly larger velocity, step length and step/extremity ratio than the elderly people. Conclusions: These results indicate that the GAITRite system can be useful in detecting footfall patterns and selected time and distance measurements of young and older persons. Additionaly, differences in walking velocity, step length and step/extremity ratio between old and young people may have influenced the gait characteristics measured.

Monitoring People's Emotions and Symptoms after COVID-19 Vaccine

  • Today, social media has become a vital tool. The world communicates and reaches the news and each other's opinions through social media accounts. Recently, considerable research has been done on analyzing social media due to its rich data content. At the same time, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has afflicted so many around the world, the search for a vaccine has been intense. There have been many studies analyzing people's feelings during a crisis. This study aims to understand people's opinions about available Coronavirus vaccines through a learning model that was developed for this purpose. The dataset was collected using Twitter's streaming Application Programming Interface (API) , then combined with another dataset that had already been collected. The final dataset was cleaned, then analyzed using Python. Polarity and subjectivity functions were used to obtain the results. The results showed that most people had positive opinions toward vaccines in general and toward the Pfizer one. Our study should help governments and decision-makers dispel people's fears and discover new symptoms linked to those listed by the World Health Organization.

유비쿼터스 센서와 ZigbeX를 이용한 독거노인 모니터링 시스템 구현 (Monitoring System for Elderly Living Alone using Ubiquitous Sensor and ZigbeX)

  • The number of elderly people living alone increases with the trend of nuclear family in recent aging society and advances of health and medical technologies, where the safety of the elderly people becomes a big social issue. One of the safety system for them these days is that security guards regularly visit homes of the elderly living alone to check their safety. However, it is an inefficient system since it costs a great deal. So, a new efficient system with low cost using modern advanced technologies needs to be developed. In this paper, we implement a monitoring system for elderly living alone using ubiquitous sensor and zigbeX. The system can remotely determine the health status of elderly people and report to their hospitals. Since the system can be implemented with low cost and do the same job as security guards do, we expect that it should replace the existing expensive monitoring system.

  • 인간이 서로 통신하는 가장 일반적인 방법은 자연어로 말하거나 글로 나타내는 방법이다.그러나 현재 기술로는 컴퓨터를 사용하려면 인위적인 프로그램밍 언어를 별도로 습득하여만 한다.만약 컴퓨터가 사람들이 말하거나 또는 글로 나타낸 자연어들을 이해할 수 있다면 사람들은 월씬 더 쉽고 자연스럽게 컴퓨터를 사용하게 될 것이다. 그러나 여기서의 문제점은 인간이 사용하는 언어가 많은 경우에 애매 모호하다는 것이다.예를 들어 '키큰'혹은 '젊은'과 같은 주관적 느낌을 표현하는 단어를 기존의 컴퓨터 시스템에서는 처리할 수없어,오히려 '25세이상'과 같이 정확한 조건을 명시해야만 원하는 정보를 얻을수 있다.본 연구에서는 이와 같은 fuzzy 정보를 포함하는 문장을 처리할수 있는 지식 기반형 자연어 질의 응답 시스템 개발을 목표로 블랙보드 개념을 도입하고 있다.이러한 시스템을 개발하려는 목표는 임의의 데이타베이스 시스템 및 음성 이해 시스템을 연결사용이 가능한 portable질의 응답 시스템을 개발하려는데 있다.

  • When accidents that relate to a large numbers of people occur, such as disasters involving group tours by ship or aircraft, or large-scale chemical leakages, it is very important to know the personal identification of victims and to determine their locations and status. It is true that there will be serious damage or injury to people who engaged especially when information does not transfer properly or people get inaccurate one. In this study, therefore, we analysed the disaster response management system for rescued people of the Sewo ferry sinking accident. Based on the analysis we proposed to improve the real-time disaster management system with ICT(Information & Communication Technology).

  • This paper describes an implementation method for the people counting system which detects and tracks moving people using a fixed single camera. This system counts the number of moving objects (people) entering the security door. Moreover, the detected objects are tracked by the proposed tracking algorithm before entering the door. The proposed system with In-tel Pentium IV operates at an average rate of 10 frames a second on real world scenes where up to 6 persons come into the view of a vertically mounted camera.

전기·후기 노인의 자살생각 영향 요인에 관한 연구: 개인체계, 가족체계, 지역사회체계 요인을 중심으로 (A study on the Influencing Factors of Suicidal Ideation of the Young-old and Old-old Elderly in South Korea: Focusing on the Individual, Family, and Community System Factors)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 노인을 전기(65-74세)와 후기(75세 이상)로 구분지어 각각 자살생각에 미치는 영향요인이 무엇인지 생태체계적 관점에서 파악하는 것이다. 분석 자료는 2014년도 노인실태조사 자료 중 배우자가 있는 전기노인과 후기노인 총 6,201건이다. 노인의 자살생각에 대한 특성을 살펴보기 위해 $X^2$검정을 실시하였고, 자살생각 영향요인을 파악하기 위해서 이항 로지스틱회귀분석을 진행하였다. 분석 결과 전기 후기노인의 자살생각에 영향을 주는 요인에는 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 개인체계 측면 중 인구사회학적 측면의 변수들은 전기노인 보다 후기노인의 자살생각에 더 많은 영향을 미쳤으며, 건강 측면의 변수는 후기노인에게만 영향을 미쳤다. 경제 측면의 변수들은 전기노인에게만 유의미한 영향을 주었다. 가족체계 측면에서는 부부관계와 부부갈등이 전기노인의 자살생각에 영향을 미치나 후기노인은 부부관계 뿐만 아니라 자녀관계 역시 자살생각에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 노인의 자살생각을 감소시키기 위해 노인집단별 맞춤형 접근방식의 필요성을 제언한다.

겨울철 젊은이와 노인의 선호 바닥온도 비교 (Comparison of the Preference for Floor Temperature between Young and Old People in a Winter Season)

  • Even in modern times, we are accustomed to the lifestyle of floor heating system in which the floor is heated for warmth like Ondol, which is the traditional Korean heating system. So, this study was designed to understand the preferred floor temperature through the questionnaires targeting the local residents living in K region. This study would also find out the floor temperature which is preferred by young people and old people through the experiments. The findings are as follows; (1) the old people do not prefer the temperature higher than young people do. It was found that the old people prefer the floor temperature of $40^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ or the floor temperature of $41^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$. (2) Both young people and old people tend to like the average skin temperature of $35.5^{\circ}C$. The skin temperature which both young and old people like was $35.2^{\circ}C$ under the air temperature of $24^{\circ}C$ and the skin temperature preferred by young people was $0.4^{\circ}C$ higher than that preferred by under the air temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ (p<0.01). (3) It was found in the questionnaires that the young people prefer the higher floor temperature in terms of age and that the people who get older in their 50s or higher tend to prefer the lower temperature.

독서장애인을 위한 음성 도서 어노테이션 검색 기법 (A Voice Annotation Browsing Technique in Digital Talking Book for Reading-disabled People)

  • 본 연구에서는 독서장애인을 위한 모바일 전자책에 저장된 어노테이션을 탐색하고 그 결과를 재생하는 기법을 제안하고, 이를 음성 어노테이션 브라우징 시스템이라 칭하였다. 제안된 음성 어노테이션 브라우징 시스템은 명령 입력, 중요도 분석 및 추천, 검색, 출력 단계로 구성된다. 특히 본 논문에서는 대상 사용자가 청각 의존도가 높은 독서장애인들이기 때문에 완전히 청각에 의존해서 사용할 수 있도록 모든 단계에서 음성인식 인터페이스를 제공한다. 제안된 음성 어노테이션 브라우징 시스템의 효율성을 검증하기 위해 모바일 안드로이드 환경에서 실행되는 전자책 소프트웨어와 음성 어노테이션 브라우징 시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 구현된 시스템은 전맹인으로 구성된 다수의 사용자들로 하여금 검증하도록 하였으며, 그 결과 이들이 원하는 어노테이션을 찾는 과정이 성공적으로 이루어 질 수 있음을 확인 하였다.
